Too bad they got a jamoke to voice it though. Seriously.....he wasn't all that great. Gilbert Gottfried would have been better. ;D

I usually play with a $60 wired headset. I have used my cell phone bluetooth earpiece in the past, a Plantronics. BOTH of these worked well for my PS3 gaming in the past. I actually reserved the no-headset game at Gamestop, but since they dropped the ball today, I bought a headset bundle from Game Crazy for $20 more. After playing with it all night, I'm not a fan. Seems too bulky (though it's not heavy) and I'm having some trouble with the arm to wrap around the ear while wearing the device. The PS3 headset didn't feel "right" on my ear, though I can't comment on that any further. If the games came out on the same day, I would have went with the one game that didn't have the headset. But take that as you will. Your mileage may vary.
-
I'm not a fan of the headset. My Plantronics cell blutooth is much more comfortable. But the sound sounds fine through it, and I believe people were telling me my mic sounded as good as the $60 headset I used to talk out of.

Hey all. Through some long, hard work....the home for Ravenfall is now officially complete. And we couldn't be happier to share it with you. Some of it's cool....some of it's crazy....all of it is Ravenfall. Check it out. Hope you enjoy! http://www.ravenfall.net - TOW

Yup. Happened to me too. Figured it out, though.

It wasn't where I originally reserved it, but I can get my money back on that one. This one was found at a GameCrazy here in Chicago. See you online, everyone.

This is a reminder to those who are still tinkering with their 4-man team dynamics for the upcoming Horsemen tourney. There is a section devoted to making your search a little easier. http://www.urgentfury.com/uf_forum/index.php?board=95.0 For those players who are looking to join a team, or for those 2-3 guys who are looking to put the final components into their team, this section should make things a lot easier. Pass the link on to ALL of your clan mates back on your own forums for those who don't make it to the UF forum as much as you.
-
There are a LOT of players that admit they will never forget their very first Urgent Fury match. And there are a LOT of players that admit they wish they could feel it again.

If it's important to anyone, if you wanted to send your copy my way, I can hand it to the author to autograph it as well, depending on how much your child loves the book. Just an FYI. But I know she would be happy to do so.

HAHAHAHA Ok, NOW listen to it again, but listen to it as a member of Slant Six getting a pep talk from the department head right before they hit the "upload patch to server" button as they all hope they don't fuck up again. For some reason, that's what I was thinking about when I was listening to it....and it made the video much better. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

The game does not ship on the 14th. Games are like albums. When an artist says "yo, my album drops on the 14th, yo," it doesn't mean that you'll have to pick it up on the 15th. I used to work in a music store a long time ago. We'd get new releases 1-2 days EARLIER. You'd HAVE to just to set up the promotional work. This is SUPPOSED to be on the shelves on the 14th, tomorrow. It's RIDICULOUS that there's so much yes-no on who's stocking it and who won't be come tomorrow.

Every discussion going on over at the RVN forum is saying that everyone was told that the game isn't getting sold until Wednesday. Gamestop in particular. I checked Best Buy's website and it's listed as going on sale on the 15th. I have it pre-ordered at a Gamestop and mine said they won't have it until Wednesday. If there ARE people here who know these are going to be on shelves TUESDAY, then let me know and I will hunt the thing down. I'll just get a refund from Gamestop for the pre-order....and I'll do it before I go home so I can slap the Gamestop guy in the face with a copy of what he told me wouldn't be sold until the 15th. LOL

The invitations for the first UF: BLACK tournament for SOCOM: Confrontation will be posted up here on the UF forum on Wednesday night, Oct. 15th, at 11pm CST. We're very happy to see so many applications arrive for the first installment. They actually exceeded our modest expectations, and we're very thankful for that. As of right now, we're looking at a total of 36 applications. We should inform the community now that on Wednesday night, we'll only be sending out 32 invites, filling up two divisions of 16 clans each. These numbers are simply to preserve even play through the regular season as well as the playoffs. We never wish to deny anyone the fun of a UF tourney, but in order to streamline the tourney process, we cannot accommodate everyone. We will be happy to say, though, that about 2-3 weeks into UF: Black, we'll be throwing up the UF: HORSEMEN 4v4 sign-ups so that it begins right when Black is ending. And then don't look too far ahead because when UF: Horsemen finishes up, we'll be putting up the sign-ups for our first TACMAP tourney for SOCOM: Confrontation entitled "UF: Chain Reaction," featuring yet a another whole new approach to our UF TACMAP mechanics. Sign-ups for this will begin early December and the tourney will start near the New Year. More hard dates will be stamped down once we get closer to them. So don't fret. There's PLENTY of UF goodness well on the way! I'll see you on here Wednesday night for the invites. We can't wait to get the action of UF: Black going. - TOW

Hey everyone.... As some of you may remember, when I'm not doin' what I do here, I'm also a writer. And behind every writer, there's an editor making him look good. I've had the same editor now for over 10 years. She's always done right by my work, even when I didn't agree with her. She's accomplished in her dedication to quality. Now, she's stepping from behind the veil and going out on her own, writing a children's book that is sure to warm a lot of hearts come Christmas time. She actually wrote this story back in her college years, making this story about 12 years old or so. Through much prodding (a lot from me) she finally took the brave step to publish it. It's a Christmas tale called "Bruce the Little Blue Spruce" that shows children it's OK to be different than everyone else. It's a wonderful picture book told in a comic book word bubble format that will make reading it and having it read to them pretty fun. I've loved this story for the last decade and am SO happy that so many other children in the world will now be able to read it as well. I know we have a lot of fathers in this community. I'm telling you, this is a GREAT story for younger children. If you have them, this is an excellent book to read them, giving them a good tip in morals and kindness. If you have children in your extended family, this would make a great gift. I couldn't make this up any better. Take a look at the listing on Amazon and, if interested, put your order in today to make the holiday season. This story warmed my heart when I first read it almost 12 years ago. I know it will warm some hearts today. Also of note to you comic or former comic book fans. The illustrator of this children's book is none other than Image Comics co-founder Jim Valentino and is beautifully painted by an assisting artist. Written by my long-time editor, Kristen Simon. I don't know how else to write a more glowing endorsement to you family guys out there. Thanks for reading. http://www.amazon.com/Bruce-Little-Kristen-Koerner-Simon/dp/1607060086/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1221684811&sr=8-1 You can also find it at Barnes & Noble's and Borders' websites. http://search.barnesandnoble.com/Bruce/Kristen-Koerner-Simon/e/9781607060086/?itm=1 http://www.borders.com/online/store/SearchResults?keyword=Bruce+Little+Blue+Spruce&type=1&simple=1 Product Description Just in time for the Holidays, a children's story for the child in all of us! All Bruce ever wanted was to be chosen by a special family to be their Christmas tree...but no one wants a BLUE Christmas tree! A heartwarming tale about accepting the differences in ourselves and in others, Bruce: The Little Blue Spruce is a story about alienation and individuality, about prejudice and rising above it. And maybe, most importantly, it's a story about finding one's place regardless of one's "handicaps". Engagingly written by Kristen Koerner Simon as a gift to her family, illustrated by Image Comics founder and award-winning artist Jim Valentino, with painted color by Avery Butterworth, Bruce: The Little Blue Spruce will charm even the most cynical of Scrooge's all year long, and gently teach a valuable lesson for all. - TOW

***This poll in no way will alter the stance that UF maintains here on its public forums. This is merely a discussion of psychology*** Sigs can mean many things to many players. Sigs can represent their online persona or their clan. Sigs can represent their favorite sports team or video game. Sigs can represent, simply, what they like. There is a majority number of male players out there that use "badass" images to represent themselves on forums. Then there seems to be a minority, though solid, of male players that like to use scantily-clad females in their sigs to represent them. Surely, they are putting it out there as titillation and not so much because they secretly wish to be a hot babe, but then at the core of the discussion, they are looking at the sig not as a representation of their online persona, but instead, simply as a billboard of their...interests. How typical is it for a male player to pick the FEMALE avatar in a video game instead of the male counterpart to represent his actions in a game? Do males typically play the male warrior to represent themselves, or do they pick the barely-clad female to represent themselves to simply look at all or angles (or....for other reasons)? How often do female gamers throw sweaty, buff male models in their sigs instead of a female representation of themselves? MANY view the purpose of a sig as a visual representation of the meaning or embodiment of their online namesake. Is this the "normal" view, per se, or just one equal view of many others? Which do YOU typically choose, and why?

It will be open to those players and clans from previous UF tourneys who have maintained a good standing within this community.

There is a new child board up for those looking to complete a 4-man UF: Horsemen team in advance of the sign-ups that will be arriving in the middle of the upcoming UF: Black tourney. http://www.urgentfury.com/uf_forum/index.php?board=95.0

Seems like you'd know...... Didn't you supply the script & material for most of their shows anyways? LOL.....no, just the segments that had anything to do with Urgent Fury. .............................including my "interview."
-
LOL....you're fine, at3dave. We'll know more in the next week or two, but we'll MOST LIKELY be opening up the first UF: Horsemen tourney with a very cool prize for all four players of the winning team. (Don't worry, it'll be very PS3-related )

YOU GET TWO VOTES TO THIS POLL! One vote for your expectation of the game's release and game play/server issues, and one vote for when you plan on getting it. I would like to see what the general consensus is regarding this very spotty Beta-tainted release date.
