Black Ops 2: First multiplayer details, release date leaked?
IRISH BULL replied to IRISH BULL's topic in General Discussion
That's exactly what I took from it. Interesting. It seems that the general consensus is that Black Ops was so far the best in the CoD series. What I find most "interesting" is what I highlighted in red. Granted this is still in the rumor mill, but still. -
http://www.computerandvideogames.com/341794/call-of-duty-black-ops-2-first-multiplayer-details-release-date-leaked/?cid=OTC-RSS&attr=CVG-General-RSS This year's annual Call of Duty release is widely expected to be Treyarch's Black Ops 2, and while the game has yet to be officially announced, that hasn't stopped rumoured details making their way online.

The following information, claiming to reveal the game's release date and a load of multiplayer features, was first posted on the official Black Ops forums in a thread that was later taken down, and its cached version is unavailable. It was then reposted in another thread on Activision's forums, which was also killed off by the publisher, but its cache remains available (via MP1st). None of this information is confirmed, but there's no reason it couldn't be genuine as it all sounds feasible. Here's the lot: Leaked Black Ops 2 Multiplayer Information This year, Call of Duty will return with it's ninth installment with Black Ops 2. As expected it will be following Treyarch's previous game Black Ops. It's release date is set for the 6th of November. Perks only become "Pro" when you have them Pro RC XD will not return Heat vision is a new Pointstreak reward. When you get the required points, you can activate this Pointstreak and your player pulls out a scope and attaches it to your weapon. This scopes main advantage is it's ability to detect enemies through most walls. Note, the scope can only be attached to primaries not including shotguns Item Packages requires 5 points. Fall along side care packages and air drop traps. Features a list of package items only including ammo, mini gun, grenade launcher, rocket launcher, and body armor Prestiges There will be 15 prestiges There will be 50 ranks Every two prestiges there is a 5 rank increase The final prestige has 90 levels ELITE 2.0 ELITE is being fully incorporated into Black Ops 2 Combat record has been modified and re-named as ELITE Stats There will be a specific lobby for clan matches (new way of leveling clans) Clan Tournaments can now be implemented Removed No MOAB or Nuke No last stand No death streaks No flame thrower attachment Map Design Map design and size will be following Black Ops not Modern Warfare 3 Sniper Rifles Improved sniper rifle usage. A person will now bleed out if severely injured. Perk System 2.0 The Perk Pro system has been upgraded There is now 2 options a perk can advance to. Both require different challenges to unlock Once the desired Pro version is unlocked, the player can select that as their "Perk Pro". Once selected, the only way to choose the other option is by entering prestige mode. For example Perk slot 1 has the perk called Speed Speed - Reduces the time taken to aim down the sight. Pro I - Swaps weapons faster. Pro II - Throws equipment faster Combat Training Will be returning with vast improvements. Difficulty is no longer based on how long the bots take to start shooting. Bots now have an advance AI system Similar to the behavior seen in the MW3 Spec Ops survival Activision Publishing CEO Eric Hirshberg has said of this year's Call of Duty: "This year we expect to further expand our presence with the launch of an all-new epic first-person shooter title under the Call of Duty brand. From what we've seen to date, the game already looks fantastic and will bring meaningful innovations to the franchise."

I've never played on the PC before, but one of our guys in RVN was a big PC player before the PS3. He also loved how each server could be tweaked to the "renters" liking. I do have a question regarding this new venture when compared to private servers on a PC. Would this even be possible on a PS3 or XBOX? As I said, I never played on a PC before, so I have no idea how you make a Star Wars mod for CoD. Or how you set it up to be one or two maps only.

Private Servers for Consoles Confirmed: FOR BF3
IRISH BULL replied to Outlaw__Rebel's topic in Playstation
So I guess they are looking into some sort of subscription service. Goodie. http://www.gamespot.com/news/ea-exploring-battlefield-subscription-service-6366335 The Battlefield series may one day offer a subscription service. EA Games executive vice president Patrick Soderlund told Venturebeat that the company is exploring such a model for its marquee shooter franchise. "I think it's fair to say that we're looking at that," he said. "Like all other companies, we're looking at how we can maximize our investment in this, get the most out of our investment, and get more people playing this product. That may take us to different places, but we're not really talking about where that is yet." EA competitor Activision launched a Call of Duty subscription service, called Call of Duty Elite, last year. A $50 premium annual subscription gives gamers access to all Modern Warfare 3 downloadable content, as well as other perks. Asked if EA is aiming to take the Call of Duty franchise down with Battlefield, Soderlund said the markets for both games are different and focusing on quality will lead to greater sales for the publisher. "When it comes to taking Call of Duty down, you know what? I don't look at it like that. We are in this business because we want to make the best possible products," he said. "Call of Duty is a shooter, but it's a different shooter. And I think they have a market; we have a market. I'm fine with what I'm doing. I'm going to continue innovating and doing as best as I can with my teams. Hopefully, that's going to lead us to more units [sold] and more happy consumers." -
Yea, the show has gotten super awesome.

Raylan Givens is the coolest TV cop I have ever seen.

My PS3 usually only freezes up when I'm using the web browser. In fact, pretty much every time. It did freeze up when I was playing Eye Pet and Friends with my kid. But that game has horrible load times. Not yet on MW3.

That seems to be the modus operandi now a days with game developers. -
Private Servers for Consoles Confirmed: FOR BF3

I'm totally with you Blood. That was partly why I was asking questions. There is no need to charge for every little thing on a game. I don't believe Starhawk is charging for their servers. Confrontation didn't. I really hope the whole "pricing" thing is being taken out of context. And that they mean pricing because it is gonna be released with DLC. But I guess we'll see. Because this game is really good and popular and they know it. So they know, as Activision does, they have gamers by the short hairs. -
Private Servers for Consoles Confirmed: FOR BF3

How would they even charge for servers on a console? I wouldn't think it would be as easy as selling DLC. But I really have no idea. How is it done on the PC? -
OK, I'll let you know. Thanks.

Private Servers for Consoles Confirmed: FOR BF3
IRISH BULL replied to Outlaw__Rebel's topic in Playstation
What are they talking about when they mention "pricing" Some of our guys seem to think they are gonna charge for the servers like they do on a PC. But I've never heard of that practice on a console before, so I'm thinking the pricing means future DLC to coinside with the servers. -
IE 8.

Hey Shane, How do we stay signed in. I keep getting logged off when I jump to different threads. It started when you updated the site and added the FB connect. If that helps.

Yea, the new maps sucks anyway. lol But seriously, the map pack release system for this game does not favor UF. Don't include them.

I've been waiting to post something because I wanted to wait until after I activated the AT&T data plan. Which I did last night. It works O-K, but obviously it is no where near as fast as a Wi-Fi connection, but it's sufficient when a hotspot is not available. And I found out it isn't exactly a "free" 30 days. Technically it is, but only after you purchase the first 30 days. So the free 30 days starts right after the purchased one expires. Moving on to the the touch screen. To me, it is exactly like the iPhone when it comes to how responsive it is. There is zero lag I guess is what I'm saying. And the way it is laid out is pretty idiot proof. You have little bubbles or icons similar to the iPhone that you hit that open up that particular application. Then once it is open, you can side swipe back to the icon screen(s) or to another opened application. And I don't believe that is available on the iPhone. I could be wrong. My wife has the iPhone, I don't. And the rear touch screen is just as responsive. But I only used it for a short mini "introduction" game. The camera is decent, not the greatest, but again, sufficient. But I wasn't buying the PS Vita to take pictures or video. So onto the games. The games look fantastic! The Unit 13 demo is pretty negligible to SOCOM 4 when it comes to the graphics. And it plays and sounds identical to SOCOM 4. So far the demo is only available, so I haven't been able to get online with it. But I cannot wait to try it out. Uncharted looks and sounds fantastic also. Both games take some getting used to on the 5in screen. But it's actually not that bad. There are currently three free games on the PS store that utilize augmented reality, but they are pretty boring. And you have to hold the PS Vita just so to play them. And each one utilizes these cards with symbols on them that add to the environment of the game your playing. Mortal Combat probably will make better use out of AR. But Unit 13 will probably be the first game I purchase. I liked SP and Co-Op on SOCOM 4, and Unit 13 has a co-op version. I'm really looking forward to Black Ops for the Vita in the fall. If that has MP, which I assume it will, I will be golden. The Twitter application is also super cool. It is super easy to navigate and is pretty fast using the touch screen. Mainly because you can just flick the screen and scroll down. I only tried the Twitter app on the iPhone for a short period of time, but I don't remember the Twitter app on the iPhone being this easy and cool. The FB application got yanked due to technical issues, so I haven't had a chance to try that out. The internet browser works very similar to the PS3 browser. It ain't great, but you can surf the web none the less. Kinda like the iPhone browser. I do have a couple of complaints. I wish they added the ability to use the D-pad or analog sticks to navigate through the icons. Now this is just me, but I'm a little anal when it comes to all the smudges. It drives me nuts, and I am constantly wiping the screen with a soft cloth after each use. Oh and BTW, the analog sticks are great. Like I said before, once you get used the smaller screen, playing a shooter on the Vita is awesome. That second stick obviously makes ALL the difference. Unlike a traditional smart phone, there is the D-pad and analog sticks. So it would have been nice to use them if I prefer. Maybe later in an update. My other complaint, and it's a big one, is the lack of including a flash player when using the browser. Why they didn't include this from day one is beyond me. They want to pull the smart phone and iPad people to the PS Vita, but don't include the ability to watch videos on the web?!! Now they claim this is being "discussed" but I'm not holding my breathe. Now this is just a complete theory, but I think they did it on purpose. I think they want to push the PS store video service, and Netflix, and probably soon Hulu Plus first. I think they are thinking that people won't need these "paid" services if they can get all of their video entertainment via Youtube or some other website. Because it does NOT make any sense not to include it. Especially if your going after the smart phone users that are also hardcore gamers. And you know damn well after playing with the Vita, it has the power to have it. I personally think that the PS Vita could be like having an iPad and hardcore gaming system in the palm of your hand. But they need that flash player added on a later update. But all in all, the PS Vita is awesome. Just SO full of awesomeness. I am really looking forward to some of the shooters coming out this year for this platform. And if you are a hardcore gamer, not so much a casual gamer, it is a must have! Because once more games come out, mainly shooters, you will be able to get your fix without having to drag your PS3 or XBOX with you when your out of town.

Let me check on this for you. I personally don't own the game anymore.

If you guys are looking for matches, a lot of Ravenfall members still play Confrontation.
