gamestop changed their release date for socom4 from 1/1/2011 all the way to 7/1/2011. some zipper quotes from the socom forums: so there you have it. no MP info until "earlyish" next year. that and the gamestop release date move should tell us something...

i agree about the spawning, but I don't think that has been addressed yet. I can't stand it when someone spawns behind me and kills me right away... very frustrating!

so they did arrive. first I tried just the aim stick, too weird I thought. then i tried them both, but I didn't like that, it made me feel like I was holding the controller in an unstable way, so I went back to just one on the aim stick. Felt really weird and awkward... but after a while I got used to it and I have to say I really do like it. I feel like my aim is more controlled and refined.

my game did freeze on me once, other than that it was great all night. almost no lag at all, and yes I could finally hear enemy footsteps!

I can hear my footsteps and teammates footsteps, but enemy footsteps are silent (even those without ninja). ninja pro was supposed to make them even louder but it did nothing.

I wonder if you can actually hear enemy footsteps now?? here is a list of the ps3 updates: 11/17 (full title update) · Improved matchmaking to find matches significantly faster · Improved matchmaking to ensure that players are more effectively matched to games with the best networking conditions · Improved host selection to ensure that the best host is always selected in the pre-game lobby · Improved party system to ensure that parties don’t get broken apart · Disable ability to join Private Match, Combat Training and Theater lobbies when searching for Player Match games · Server-side and game-side changes to decrease the amount of failed Film uploads · Weekly and Monthly leaderboards will now track all kills, deaths and assists properly (All Time leaderboards were not affected by this) · Prevention of Combat Training stats getting crossed with Player Match stats under rare conditions · Prevention of temporary loss of functionality when a button was being held down at the point of a disconnect · Additional fine-tuning of audio levels and ranges for footsteps and gunfire · Additional fine-tuning of audio levels for bomb plants/defuses · Additional online security enhancements · Optimization to prevent friends list from spamming user while in game – will improve game performance for users with large numbers of friends

apparently ps3 and xbox patches are out today... won't get mine until later on. if you do happen to install sometime today, please post up anything that has changed noticably, and what platform you are on.

yea doom, duke nukem, descent all over modem. When the internet boom started, before Gamespy was the big game finding app, there was Kali. Kali was great because it allowed you to play ipx games over tcpip. I used to play Descent/Descent2 competitively back then, when Case's ladder was the top competition site. Made my way up the Descent2 ladder to 10th place, thats when my precious Gravis Phoenix died. Such a sad sad day... they stopped making them and there really wasnt anything else like it.

I've also heard they are fixing ninja pro so it actually works... right now it does nothing. -

I've had (mostly) a good experience, some lag here and there. Ground War is terribly laggy, other modes are usually (80-90%) ok in general. -
