copying my socom forums post on this: While I agree with a lot of the complaints posted here, we need to realize Zipper and Sony are in the business of making $, not making a HD Socom2 to please the small socom fanbase. Every COD that comes out is making a billion dollars worldwide, with millions of players, and Sony/Zipper needs to market and develop the game to cut into that fan base to survive, hence the respawn/killstreak mode. We should be thankful that we even have a classic mode honestly... they spent time on this and the clan support just for us. No other titles even consider clan support other than a tag. HD Socom2 just won't appeal to the masses (non-socom diehards) and generate this kind of $. Are you really going to complain about unlocking stuff? Hardcore socomers will play the crap out of this and unlock everything quickly anyway. Not really an issue. I'm a little upset about no lobbies, but I'm willing to wait and see what the clan support / matchmaking is like before I lose my head over that. Other titles the party/matchmaking always seem to have issues. I'll wait to see how well this works before flaming it. No demo? really? Hmm... something tells me demo is the "game mode to be named later", or one of the new modes released with the first DLC. Don't blame Zipper, I'm sure Sony pushed this on them. I'm taking a wait and see approach right now. edit: no hot guns, the 2 min "see your enemy location/name" needs to go. hot gun needs a comeback.

still would love to hear confirmation from people playing socom... fixed or no?

haha thats awesome. does that mean we can play socom again?? people playing socom last night or now/tonight can you confirm that you aren't seeing cheaters or people in clown suits??

man I'm reading all this stuff... all I have to say is WTF on CTF, and the "secret game mode yet to be announced" damn well better be demolition.

sorry folks, it was a hoax. ... Earlier this week, 3D movie fans were all a flutter when it was reported that Keanu Reeves mentioned two new Matrix sequels were being filmed in 3D while talking to students at the London International School of Performing Arts. Now, that school as well as representatives for Reeves are saying it was completely made up. Administrators at the London school have come forth to say Keanu Reeves didn't even have a scheduled appearance there at all this week. Whoever it was who started this story was just making stuff up out of thin air. they really should... blacklisting these modded ps3's is the only way they can stop this trend

I'm not a big fan of futuristic shooters, but this game looks pretty bad ass. Have to say I"m a little sceptical about EA after my Medal of Honor experience.

yea thats what I just thought... many people are having all the stuff they worked hard for wiped out with no assistance from sony. you're lucky...

sure they are.... it's all about the $$$. they're making billions. personally I'm happy with BO after not liking MW2 so much so I don't suspect I'll buy MW3, especially since socom4 will be out well before then (we hope...)

The next Call of Duty title, Modern Warfare 3, will be developed by three different studios and arrive in November 2011. The Activision-published shooter series has been an annual fixture in the release calendar for a number of years, but following the slow, acrimonious disintegration of Modern Warfare developers Infinity Ward in early 2010, it wasn't looking certain that Modern Warfare 3 would be ready on time. So Activision got on the phone to Sledgehammer Games, a developer based in California who had already been signed up to produce a Call of Duty spin-off. The team there will be working with the remains of Infinity Ward to get the single-player portion of the game polished and ready for 2011's Christmas shopping season, presumably delaying the aforementioned spin-off. i looked for it last night but couldnt find it on ps store. will give it a go again when i get home from work.

after watching the trailer and seeing some of the skins and such this has to be a counterstrike port of some sort... wouldn't be suprised at all since it is not a part of the orange box. would also explain the cheap price since it would take minimal work to get it going with the engine already ported due to Orange Box.
