It's that time of year again. The time when many people's thoughts and most things you find in stores turn to hearts, sparkles, and some form of red and white paper craft. Or maybe this kind of heartfelt celebration is a joyful, everyday occurrence for you. Even if you're the Who-needs-love type we have something special for you to mark the occasion.

TxK is an arcade-style shooting game. The basic idea is simple: shoot all the enemies that arrive on each playing surface. When the surface is clear or all enemies arrive at the top, the surface explodes and you transition to the next level. More...

With the Daylight launch just around the corner, I wanted to give PlayStation.Blog readers a bit of background on our protagonist, Sarah Gwynn. The reasons we chose to go with a female main character were twofold. The first reason being that because I was writing the game, she became (in a roundabout way) an extension of myself. I came up with the outline for Daylight based on some urban exploration I did in my high school days. Specifically, a blighted little spot within my small Michigan town by the name of The Sheldon Buildings (officially known as the Wayne County Training School for Feeble Minded Children). Hey everyone, Rob from Curve here! It seems like only a few weeks ago I was here talking about our Mega bundle of 2013 games. This week we're very happy to announce something brand new: an indie puzzle game called MouseCraft. More... -
Forest Legends: The Call of Love is a game for people who believe in magic. Once upon a time, the Earth was inhabited by not only people but also Felizes - creatures that could transform into cat-like beings. Without warning, dark times fell upon the world, and war engulfed both races. The humans forced the Felizes to leave the land they had called home for thousands of years and hide in the forests. Humans then outlawed magic and spared no opportunity to attack the werecats. More...

Delsin Rowe strolls down a shadowy length of docks with ample confidence. Caches of illegal drugs have been hidden among the houseboats moored there, which is a disagreeable notion to our super-powered, rough-around-the-edges hero. But with eye-searing neon and seething smoke at his disposal, Delsin has little to fear from the drug peddlers peppering him with gunfire. Bullets ricochet off the flashing neon light around his head as he flinches -- they're more an annoyance than a danger. As he leaps into the air to greet his enemies, powers flaring to life, he can destroy them or subdue them. And that's up to the player. More...

Next week sees the release of Ubisoft's phenomenal platformer Rayman Legends on PS4. The limbless mascot's latest adventure won huge acclaim when it launched on PS3 and PS Vita last year, and we can't wait to see how its gorgeous visuals translate on the new hardware. With that in mind, we've been harvesting a few of your questions via Twitter and our official forums, and put them to Senior Game Designer, Emile Morel. Read on to find out more about what you can expect from the PS4 release. More...

Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn launches for PS4 on April 14th, 2014. Many players have questions about the beta, as well as the PS3-to-PS4 transfer process for accounts. Folks were wondering who could participate in the beta, if they could use existing characters, if they needed an existing account, or could jump right in. More...

Taking place almost two centuries before the events of BlazBlue, XBlaze tells the story of Touya Kagari, a mostly unremarkable high school sophomore with a remarkable past, and his transformation from a typical teenager into the target of secret organizations, renegade mages, homicidal maniacs, and curry-obsessed co-workers. TxK is the latest in a particular genre of arcade-style shooters which can be described as “neo-retroâ€. These games are characterised by gameplay inspired by arcade games of old, but take advantage of modern hardware to provide graphics and audio that far surpass anything that was possible back in ancient times. Often they take as inspiration some aspect of an older display style and, through modern graphics hardware and techniques, seek to create an experience that is evocative of its ancestry but far nicer-looking. You’ve all seen games like “Geometry Warsâ€, where the enemies and player characters are made of glowing lines. More...

The most exciting aspect of Toukiden: The Age of Demons is the “targeted destruction system†where players can feel the exhilaration of severing parts of the Oni’s body and destroying them. Players can choose from six different weapons, each with their own original attack methods and attributes. Using powerful attacks to slash, thrust and crush parts of the enormous enemy, I think it might excite the natural instincts of players. More...

What kind of game is Zombeer? That's not easy to answer... my favorite description for Zombeer, which launches today on PS3, would be "first-person-survival-horror-comedy-shooter." More...

Battlefield 4 held onto the top spot on PS4, but Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition made a very impressive debut. Launch titles Need for Speed Rivals and Assassin's Creed IV are still holding strong in the top 5, too. Minecraft has taken over all of the PS3s, apparently, though Crysis 3, Tales of Xillia and Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon did very well too. Puppeteer rounded out the top 5 on PS3 last month. More...

Four years ago, we were introduced to an unlikely heroine by the name of Claire, and a band of six unsuspecting allies. Today, you all have the chance to find out how her story ends in Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII. Four hunters push through the thick of the jungle, muttering warnings and checking their Sound Spikes for activity. The beast has been feeding, and the burst cocoon littering the dark jungle floor betrays the monster's recent evolution. As the hunters trace the monster's footprints, it watches them from above, snarling and seething and ready to strike. High tension moments like these are often relegated to cutscenes in video games. But in Evolve, it's all just part of the game. More...

Hi PlayStation fans, we have some exciting news to share with you today! The popular creature hunting franchise, Invizimals, is returning to PlayStation this year in the Americas. The franchise began as a series of innovative PSP titles in which players hunted down and battled elusive Invizimals using the PSP camera. Today, we’re happy to confirm that Invizimals: The Alliance and Invizimals: The Lost Kingdom will be coming to PS Vita and PS3 (respectively) later this year.
