Around 300 Chinese workers who manufacture XBox consoles took to a factory roof and threatened bosses with mass suicide over a dispute about pay, unconfirmed reports have claimed. The workers were employed at the Foxconn Technology Park in Wuhan in Hubei province. Foxconn is an independent, global manufacturing partner to companies including Apple, Microsoft and Sony. Microsoft said on Wednesday that it is investigating the incident. According to unverified reports emerging from anti-government Chinese news websites, about 300 workers took to the roof of the Taiwanese-owned factory on 2 January to protest against their employers. Those reports have sinced been repeated by websites including Kotaku, but neither Foxconn or Microsoft has yet confirmed the incident took place. According to the reports the employees had asked bosses for a raise but in response were told to either quit with compensation or keep their jobs at their usual salary. Most workers apparently decided to leave, but the company did not hand over the money as promised. According to the China Jasmine Revolution website, the workers were only dissuaded a day later when the mayor of Wuhan talked them out of committing suicide. Foxconn factories in China have been the scene of several suicides by workers in the past, including 14 in 2010 alone at its Shenzhen plant, after complaints of low pay and poor conditions.

This story enrages me... http://www.fevermagazine.com/a/technology/2010/04/21/thief-steals-ipad.html ... the guy that lost his finger to the burglar didn't have a clue what he'd bought because it was a gift for a client from work. Thank God I work in corrections and see these scumbags get their just desserts.

I keep hearing how great these are for graphic design, but my job doesn't require me to use graphics, so I am dumb to the technology out there. I basically want a pad and pen to start out with, and the Intuos4 seems to be the best for the price. Anyone have any suggestions?

I was just looking at the sale papers today and came across an ad for a 2GB memory card for a PSP on sale for $14.99, regularly $24.99. So I checked my old receipt from a 2GB memory card I bought January'07. It was regularly priced at $69.00!!! I know its been 2 years, but from $69 to $14?!! Hell, the 4GB is regularly priced at $40. Anybody else have this happen to them? You buy some sort of technology and then you find the price dramatically reduced later.

In 2001 there was a fairly large amount of electric cars on the market that were vastly popular. I saw this documentry a while back and happened to find it online. Some of you may want to take a look and wonder why we arent CURRENTLY using this technology. http://quicksilverscreen.com/watch?video=16408
