  1. Ok today's Oct 1st....... Everyone has made numerous suggestions for different tournaments, different games, different ways to play your games.....we have listened and heard your suggestions and requests. Without rest, we have listened to how we aren't advertising, and we aren't being proactive in giving something to the community or to attract new clans that want to play at Urgent Fury. In order to keep the final surprise, a surprise, we let people say what they truly felt at the time. Had we responded in detail, with what was in store, it would have ruined what we had planned to unveil to the community. We will finally be able to show you that our promises weren't empty, that there was a reason for everything that we have done over the past several months. Sometime later today the link to the above UFGL button will go live and you will get a glimpse of what we have been so diligently working on for almost 11 months. As some things felt a little slow, there was alot going on in the background. We hope that you enjoy and have fun with what we are going to give to the community. May you never have to stray to game with your Urgent Fury family ever again. Always remember to "Win with Honor, Lose with Dignity."
  2. If you all have not noticed already, there has been an ASK CMDR FURY button added to the menu bar along the top. This is there to give community an opportunity, as it states, to ask Commander Fury a question about Urgent Fury, gaming, or anything else, within Reason, to have answered on an upcoming Podcast. If the topic is interesting enough, you may be asked to join the discussion during the recording by Fury himself.
  3. I saw the first, have not seen the second. Will have to watch this weekend. Like Sal side, this has the chance to be a great Mindbender.
  4. I have been playing the BETA also Marauder. Depending......if they did the Clan Deploy right, we can definitely use that to plan some really fun events around MAG.......
  5. 9 Large, that's pretty good.
  6. Just had to make a couple of changes....it's back up now.
  7. I think both of these games will have a good following. I expect each new shooter to better in some was than its predecessors. In all aspects. As far as clan support, people don’t know what they don’t know. What I mean is people who have not played Socom and experienced their clan support have not had this experience. If you could have taken Socom’s clan support and dropped it into MW’s game, it would have been even more dominating than it already has been. However, if you look at it from a sheer numbers perspective, most games seem to follow the matchmaking scheme that Halo has used. For those that have played Halo online, MW1 and MW2, when it comes to playing online matchmaking, works almost identical from a player’s perspective. There are a couple of differences but the concept is basically the same. IMO, some developers are looking and thing they aren’t going to change from the “Halo†style of matchmaking since there are anywhere from 800,000+ gamers worldwide on their servers at any given time. If they look at Socom, which has a loyal following but not the numbers, they go with what’s going to put the most games in a player’s hand. I completely agree, being able to meet up with up to 32 players to war it out, in a predefined, password protected room, is the most ideal way to play. And if more people would have the chance to experience it, they would think the same. Plus, as we have seen, matchmaking can also be incorporated into a nice lobby system for those that still go that route. I am hoping that Zipper will be using some of MAG’s server technology to incorporate into the new Socom to make 16v16 as lag free as possible. Plus, if anyone has or is playing the MAG BETA, they are heading in the right direction for Clan deployment. If the private match option would work well, then this would become a success for the release of MAG 2. Many people have said many things about Urgent Fury, but one of our biggest goals is to be taken seriously as not just “another†fan site running tournaments. It’s been our goal and desire since we took over to grow Urgent Fury and build its members so that we can go to developers and say, “this is what we want to have in games!!†There are so many members that are loyal, lifelong gamers. We have made our first steps in making some good contacts and we will continue to work to bring in others that share our passion and desire to not only be entertained, but to have a centralized voice to express what makes games even more fun and desirable to play over and over and over again. And we will strive, as Urgent Fury has always done, to bring in people that want to play games in a fun, respectable manner. Just like any organized sport that we all have played as kids and were taught that you go to play to win, but you do it respect and you do it with cheating. There is no reason that gaming can’t be done in the same manner. Being an Urgent Fury member, this is how my team played and also how all the other teams that I have played against behaved. This was at the top of the requirements for entry into Urgent Fury whether you went undefeated or never won a game. It was not tolerated for anyone to insult a team. Hence Urgent Fury’s slogan, “Win with Honor, Lose with Dignity.†Now off my soapbox, we are working to be able to support both of these titles in someway. We will have more detail before their respective releases.
  8. Oh and this has nothing to do with Sony / Zipper. It's Urgent Fury. And it has absolutely nothing to do with anything "Cosmic"...
  9. I will tell you it is not a vbulletin mod. And still no right answers for the hidden letters. I will also tell you, we are less than 5 days away.
  10. Good afternoon. We hope that everyone has had a great summer. I know you have been hearing that we have things coming, and seen very little. However, we don't want to spoil the fun or suspense by just letting the cat out of the bag. Our release of the forums was just the first phase. We have been very busy here with some behind the scenes activities, one of which you should be getting to experience first hand before the end of September. Not something for you to just sit and read on the forums, but something to allow you and your clan to get more active. We will be letting out more information as we progress through this month (Sept). As you may have already heard, we are changing our process of Clan Evaluation's back to the old method. For those that have been here for several years, you will remember the old process was your Clan had to successfully complete a N.E.S.S.A., or later known as Black, to have a consideration for an invitation in an Urgent Fury sponsored event. In order to make sure that we can readily evaluate more than one clan per week, this process will be re-introduced instead of Hell Week starting with this run of Black for Socom and Crucible for MW2. Based on the new activities that will be released in the upcoming month, we the Administration and Staff had to come up with a solution to accommodate the venues to allow for continued expansion and growth across all of Urgent Fury while still working to maintain the standards that everyone expects. As it was already mentioned in a seperate area for the Eval Members, we the Administration and Staff of Urgent Fury want to again thank each and every member for his/her contribution to the selection and acceptance to applicant clans by helping to maintain the assurance of quality and honorable clan affiliations for participation in UF sanctioned events. Please accept our appreciations and gratitude for a job well done by all the members of the UF Evaluation team. Urgent’s Fury commitment to ensure only those clans that demonstrate cordiality, honor and respect receive invitation to participate within Urgent Fury’s sanctioned events is a commitment that will always be a principal concern to not only the administration and staff but also that of the entire community of Urgent Fury. The means to accomplish this task is always under analysis and examination with the desire to protect and uphold the honor of entitlement to participation within this community by a process of assessment of conduct towards new clan applicants. The information provided above was provided in the hope that the community understands our purpose and reason. We are not afraid to try new things and although we don’t always get it perfect. We listen and it is our community’s concerns that drive our intentions and objectives. Thank you all for your support and patience. We will continue to work hard to give you the best gaming experience possible.
  11. Thanks everybody. I appreciate the. The well wishes and the nice picture..
  12. Good afternoon all, As we continue our march forward after E3, Urgent Fury's goal is the same as the first post that we made saying hi to everyone as an introduction to the community. As stated in our goals from day one, our purpose is to not only to give you the same popular tournaments that have been at Urgent Fury, but also bring you new opportunities to play other games as well. As part of this process, we will make additions and adjust Staffing responsibilities as needed. One change here we are making is to add a Forum Moderator. This position is just what it says. The person that will take this roll is one of our Rangers, Crusty Demonz. This may not be the only Forum Mod that we add; however, as stated above, we will continue to adjust as we continue our structural development. The second change comes in the form of adding a not-so-new staff member back into the ranks of Staff. The newest member to come in is BackLash. He will be assisting us as we prepare to implement and bring to you some of the suggestions that you have made to us over the past 11 months. As we have stated, do not think that we have not heard or seen your suggestions. It has been our goal to be able to provide some if not all your suggestions into the plans. We are running our monthly tournaments of Black and Crucible at this time as we finalize, well, that will be for another post. Speaking of Suggestions, please continue to leave us Suggestions. It is now a forum link at the bottom of the forums. It will take you to a Suggestion Form that is stored in our Suggestion Database where we can access and prioritize them. Please join me in welcoming Urgent Fury's New Forum Moderator, Crusty Demonz and our Newest Staff Member, Backlash. As always, we appreciate your support and patience as we continue to develop and implement.
  13. The Advanced Search Function should be working. Just tried it several times myself. Just post back up if you are experiencing this still.
  14. The guy behind you is catching up. Really need to push this hard.....I don't see any reason you shouldn't be ahead of 8bit in the #1 spot.
  15. Ghost, do you have any pics to share of the Droid X in person. I am really considering jumping on this one. How is the battery life?
  16. The Urgent Fury Black Summer Session Applications are now open for sign ups. Check out the Urgent Fury Black Section located under the Current Tournaments. In the Application Center, select the Sub-Forum called APPLICATION FORM and fill out the form. The dates are also listed. The signs up are scheduled to end on 7-27-10. Look forward to seeing you there.
  17. Ok, I should have your premissions fixed so you can see the clan rep section. i found the issue. If you still are having problems, please let me know. Chili, we will work on the rest, thanks for the tips.
  18. You can view the page at http://www.urgentfury.com/content.php/134-Code-of-Ethic-Gameplay-Forum-Rules?
  19. Irish Bull and American Outlaw. Please check your access now. I think I got it.
  20. Thanks Sal, was able to get the name change implemented and tested just before launch.
  21. Annnnd that is what I said, Articles Discussion board is a storage bored & is redundant information that should not have been there.......translation......comments on the frontpage and threads in an article discussion board are in two places, and thusly, should not have been there (ie. showing up to confuse and cause the question first asked by RNG.) And yes, I can confirm that is where the comments are stored.
  22. RNG, the Articles board is just a storage board for the articles you see on the frontpage. It was redundant information and should not have been there. Thanks for the heads up. If you want to leave feedback, goto the FrontPage, Select the Article and there is a comment box for you to leave comments.
  23. You are now 23 away from 1st place. First place is 2800 votes and second place is 1700+ votes. There is no way that with every UF member and their clans vote, you could surpass both of those in 1 day. Can we please help a brother out?
  24. Got it, thanks......
  25. Thank understandable Last and we have shutdown all feeds from External Advertisers. Any ads you see running are ours and ours alone. So basically, what little support from the feeds we did get, we chose to shut them down. It wasn't worth it to burden the community.
