    I got NHL 09 and the online is pretty good the mics fuck up a lot though. but I love hockey so i dont care if I can talk or not.

Has anybody ever froze up while going to the in-game XMB in another game? Or is SOCOM the probelm?? I don't think I have ever used it in another game, so I personally don't know. I think it became available after SOCOM was released, if I'm correct. I have had this happen to me while playing NHL 09. but socom and hockey are all I own so I dont know if this happens with anyother games.

    correct... that information was avail pre launch, they wanted to do away with Rank up rooms Well obviously /6 should have been focusing on more pressing issues. I've never understood the obsession with rank. I don't care who ranks up, they still have to outshoot and outsmart me if they are in the same room and the opposite side. Their rank won't help them then, or any other time I would think. Unless people actually look at the opposite side before greening up and a cold fear grips them and affects their game play. and that is the way I think as well Hog but all I was stating is the reason that from day one they have never put "custom made ranked rooms" that was all that I was saying. its a video game what give a fuck about rank???

    From what I remember they wont put custom ranked rooms in because they didnt want people exploiting the rank system. I think I read that on the socom website but I cant remember.

    Chilli NHL 09 has got to be the most fun I have ever had on a sports game and I imagine that the game play would be just as good on the XBOX as the PS3, I like how they changed all of the controls around. Makes it a whole lot more fun.

    I agree with that but I myself have to include any NHL game, right now it is a toss up between socom and NHL09 both great games.

    Just reading this post from way back before socom was release and seeing all of the comments on what the final game will be like and how some thought it would be great and some think that it would be crap, kind of makes me laugh now when I see what everyone thinks of socom after it has been out for a while. lol

    That is something that I am not doing there Chili, infact you are the one that brought systems into a SOCOM discussion, so really what did that have to do with socom or the PS3.

    Not sure if your commenting on my post or not but by not finished I was talking about features that are listed in the game manual and strategy guide. For one, the ability to turn off side switching in private matches. I know theres more, but I'm not one who hates on this franchise or this game in particular, I love Socom and always will no matter how bad they butcher it. But yes fix the existing issues, fix things that were supposed to included at launch and fix the damn lag and frame drops. Is that my cue....!? In all honesty i can see that it is a playable game, especially to those who just dont want to look elsewhere for "other" games. But if you take a more open mind approach to it all, there are lots of other options, & if you give them a chance they are very good options.. but only if you give them a chance. And if you do give something else a chance & give it time to get used to the controls, the maps, etc.. when you go back to Socom, you will see a bigger difference. Its not that Socom is the worst game out there, but it is just the biggest let down. And even more frustrating is you can see the potential it has.. which is truely a great game, but it is just that.. Potential, NOT actual solid game. That is all.. im going back to my voice chat/mail, working invite, flawless mic, (non blu-ray) super system. ;D that is fine I will go without those options with the XBOX and have a system with a failure rate that isn't close to being as high as microsoft. I can send a text, if I want to talk with someone on my friends list I will just use the PSN chat thing. really who needs to send a voice message anyways, typing works just fine.

    See I just wanted to know because I have no clue what people are talking about I think the game is great the way it is and I would be ok with them releasing downloadable content.
