IRISH BULL Posted April 29, 2011 Report Posted April 29, 2011 If you don't keep your CC info on your account, are you still vulnerable? I only would use it to buy something. Then immediately after the DL'd process, I would then delete the info off of my account. Quote
SlitherX Posted April 30, 2011 Report Posted April 30, 2011 Ah, fuck it. My CC is maxed out anyways. +1 Point for Optimism. -Slith Quote
Directors shane Posted April 30, 2011 Directors Report Directors Posted April 30, 2011 I know everyone is freaking out, but by regulations set forth by the cc companies and feds, the 3 digit code can not be stored. Quote
Last- Posted April 30, 2011 Report Posted April 30, 2011 (edited) It sound like a hoax to me. It's like when someone once stole a great piece of art, then everyone said they had it and people made fakes and sold them to buyers, claiming it was the real piece. This sounds like the same thing. Claim to have the numbers and sell them to people who believe you. Make a ton of money and give them nothing but fakes. Edited April 30, 2011 by Last- Quote
IRISH BULL Posted April 30, 2011 Report Posted April 30, 2011 (edited) So does anyone know how the PSN works after entering CC number? Is it gone after you delete it? Or is it permanently stored after you entered it? Edited April 30, 2011 by IRISH BULL Quote
Nemesis Posted April 30, 2011 Report Posted April 30, 2011 So does anyone know how the PSN works after entering CC number? Is it gone after you delete it? Or is it permanently stored after you entered it? I assume if you didn't delete it it's still there. Blowing Shit Up on my DROIDX using Tapatalk Quote
Directors shane Posted April 30, 2011 Directors Report Directors Posted April 30, 2011 If you choose not to store it you have to enter it each time... so it is deleted Quote
Pillorian Posted April 30, 2011 Report Posted April 30, 2011 If you choose not to store it you have to enter it each time... so it is deleted That is what I usually do anytime I buy something online. Whether it is PSN or Newegg, I always manually put in my CC info. Quote
IRISH BULL Posted April 30, 2011 Report Posted April 30, 2011 OK, good. I wasn't sure if it stored somewhere else in the PSN system. So I'm good to go. I always did that since the beginning. Quote
-Rooster- Posted May 1, 2011 Report Posted May 1, 2011 Shane, If I run your card on my credit card processing machine, i dont need to put the 3 digit code in if I put in that the card is NOT present. Only if the card is present. Give me your numbers, ill show you hahahah! Quote
Directors shane Posted May 1, 2011 Directors Report Directors Posted May 1, 2011 I did not say a cc could not be run withouth the ccv code... that is more for online transactions... but just that they are not stored. Quote
CaribbeanCLANK Posted May 1, 2011 Report Posted May 1, 2011 And the PSN drama continues.............. Quote
Playerdown Posted May 2, 2011 Report Posted May 2, 2011 Not really worried. Do they even have credit cards that don't have fraud protection anymore? 2 of my cc #'s were stolen within 2 months of eachother from vacations, and 1 phone call and they were taken care of. Plus I use a card with a $500 max for PS stuff. Quote
Peebrain Posted May 2, 2011 Report Posted May 2, 2011 (edited) Also, if your cc info gets used you should buy a lotto ticket seeing as the odds are 1 in 77 million of them using your cc. Edited May 2, 2011 by Peebrain Quote
PIRO_THE Posted May 2, 2011 Report Posted May 2, 2011 Depending on the depth of the "hack" They could have any credit card number ever used on the PSN system. By getting the accounting systems charge report for each major card company, they would not only have your card number but a previous authentication number from the CC company. This is only one of the reasons I have never used my CC for online purchases. I use PSN gift cards and nothing else, when using the PSN. For other things like e-bay and online stores I use PayPal. If my PSN info was taken then the guy that got it is fully entitled to the $4.12 that was in my “walletâ€. He / She must need it far more then I do. Quote
