Guest [iLL] Andawg Posted June 17, 2007 Report Posted June 17, 2007 Â Â The other day I was walking through the Wal-Mart and saw one of the new action figures for the new movie, and it made me stop. The poor kids these days. I remember my collection(of course they met their untimely demises in honorable, although some what in flames manners) and these Nowadays just look cheesey! vs Quote
Red0ctobeR Posted June 17, 2007 Report Posted June 17, 2007 I know. When I was younger my favorite autobot was starscream. I had half a dozen of him and they are all gone. But they were great compared to the ones that are on the shelf now. Plus I bet they were twice as durable. Quote
SNIPER Posted June 17, 2007 Report Posted June 17, 2007 Oh hell yeah, the old school toys were a lot better. I had Optimus Prime and a few other transformers. I remember ripping off Soundwave from my neighbor across the street when I was small. Then he'd come over, find it and "steal" it back. This went on back and forth several times...lol Quote
TOW-19 Posted June 17, 2007 Report Posted June 17, 2007 I still have RAMJET sitting in my closet shelf behind me. He was the burgundy jet from the Decepticons with the twin fans in his wings. I always thought he looked cool, and the only Transformer to survive through my years. Quote
UNCLE-SID25 Posted June 17, 2007 Report Posted June 17, 2007 Andawg ]Â Â these Nowadays just look cheesey I agree, Kids ARE cheesy nowadays... I mean hell its not like they will break the plastic transformer (some of mine were metal) because they will never play with it- They will be playing video games and letting someone else fill in their imagination for them. Guest [iLL] Andawg Posted June 17, 2007 Report Posted June 17, 2007 There was a day when a spoon, a couple G.I. Joes and a hill of dirt would keep me occupied all day...OUTSIDE! Quote

I got Starscream for Christmas cause my Mom knew I liked planes. At the moment I was pissed cause I had to have Prime, and it wasn't an autobot(had to have one of the good guys) but I did love that thing....I MEAN A Jet, that TURNED into A ROBOT! How Sweet is that? Quote
Guest Col.Jessup Posted June 18, 2007 Report Posted June 18, 2007 See I always liked the bad guys better as a kid..... Quote
[LA]MAXIMUS666 Posted June 18, 2007 Report Posted June 18, 2007 Anyone who is around the 20-27 age should remember the "Barnyard Commandos" action figures. The Hog was my favourite. Quote
[PHS] Pai_Mei Posted June 18, 2007 Report Posted June 18, 2007 Starscream...Definatly Decepticon...He was megatrons number 2 guy and had to Hold Megatron just so he could fight with them...lol. Remember the original megatron was a huge pistol. He a tank or something now... Quote

God Damnit I was thinking Optimus Prime. Ya, how do you get those two confused right? Well I did. ;D That is who I meant not megatron. But I was talking about starscream correctly Quote
Deutscher75 Posted June 19, 2007 Report Posted June 19, 2007 You were close though October, Starscream is actually the one that was a Deceptacon and then went back to his original roots as an Autobot. I'll have to look through my comics to find it, but I'm pretty positive thats the way it went down. I really miss all my toys, Thunder Cats, Transformers, G.I. Joe's and I'm talking the original 8" figurines, not the stupid 3-4" plastic uniform pieces of crap. All my choppers and tanks and stuff, I still have some of my G.I. Joe stuff. I'll take a few pics for those that are interested. I also still have all my comics of Transformers and I REALLY miss watching all these cartoons as a little kid. I may only be 22 but I remember all these things. The days of imgaination are pretty much dead and it really sucks, probably one of the reasons why the children of our ages appear to become more and more illiterate and violence is spreading more and more throughout the world. [PHS] Pai_Mei Posted June 19, 2007 Report Posted June 19, 2007 How is Imagination dead...Someone has to think up all these games we play. And it'll be our kids that continue to use their imagination to build the future that the see in the movies now. Hell, two way direct connect...STAR TREK COMMUNICATORS! Flying was dreamt up hundreds of years ago by Galileo, but we just learned it in fairly recent history. Everything that is eventually "invented" was written about in books long before ever being invented, or it has been featured in some way long before the technology was really there. It is what keeps our Species moving. There really isn't much thats not possible, it takes imagination to find the ways to do it. Quote
Deutscher75 Posted June 19, 2007 Report Posted June 19, 2007 yes, I agree that Imagination keeps our species moving, but think of this, a few amongst are people create these video games, the rest just sit and play them into oblivion, what kind of imaginational usage is that? To me its very little if any, and on a daily basis I fail to see the opposite more and more. D Quote
