We all know this guy from Superbad. The guy is freaking hillarious, IMO. But he turned down a role in the new Transformers. Now he's officially a DUMBASS.

Jonah Hill decided not to star in Transformers 2: Revenge Of The Fallen because he did not like the script.

According to IESB, Hill was offered the role of Sam Witwicky's (Shia LaBeouf) college roommate but declined after taking a look at the script in director Michael Bay's office.

An insider said: "Jonah sits down, opens the script. The character of the chubby sidekick is named 'Jonah'. How perfect. Jonah reads 20 pages of the script, puts it down, and silently walks out of the room. Next thing you know, his agents call Bay, he's off the project."

After snubbing the Transformers role, Hill signed up to write and executive produce a film version of '80s TV show 21 Jump Street.

maybe he prefers to be in movies that suck.

like strange wilderness, forgetting sarah marshall, horton hears a who, wainy days, human giant, evan almighty and yes superbad ---- he was the worst one in that show, mclovin and the cops where the stars of that movie.

I could careless about him turning it down. That is not the part I thought was crazy. It was the fact that he read it, then put it down, then just walked out. Who the hell does that. Beside him now I guess.

NOT a dumbass at all..!!

You never know what he read, & it might have been something that would kill his career. maybe it would be his LAST good paycheck instead of them getting bigger for the next 15 years of his life. ;)

Would you rather get paid $5 mil today or $100+ mil for the next 20 years.?

Bottomline is we dont know what he read, so we cant say he made the wrong/right decision. i guess well see what his next few movies are, & how Transformers 2 does.

Plus, Transformers was great without him. I personally think he's hilarious, but Transformers was an absolutely great movie and he wasn't in it. It's not a big deal. If he didn't want the part and just walked out, that's on him.

How many times have we been all excited for a sequal, only to be pissed when it comes out?

It is Transformers, how can it not be great?

Oh, c'mon.....let's not be blind consumers here.

I mean, I liked Transformers as well....but the story wasn't ALL that. It was summer CG craziness and that was about it. And I LIKE Michael Bay films, but face it, the guy isn't known for his heavy-laden stories.....he's known for his explosions and slo-mo "I'm about to save the day" frames or "I just lost everything dear to me" midsections.

Some people just don't jump on cash cows......some just like to break in their own mustangs.

I can respect that.
