TOW-19 Posted July 9, 2008 Report Posted July 9, 2008 It was brought to the Clan Reps' attention that AoA has utilized secondary names played by players who are currently POWs in Riot Act. This is a practice that is absolutely against what Urgent Fury strives for here in honest play. As always, as said many times over, we judge a clan here on many levels, from their clan leader to the members of the clan. Everyone's actions while behind a clan's clan tag is representative OF that clan. We have never presented a gray area in this regard. A TRUE clan leader or leadership structure within a clan makes CERTAIN that things of this nature do NOT happen. Lapses in leadership and quality control will almost ensure that things of this nature tarnish a clan's hard work and reputation here in Urgent Fury. The following was submitted as evidence of the above charges: Taken from the public forums of AoA: And these players and their second names are showcased below in the roster changes in between months: The following is the AoA roster going into the July roster update... 1. Deadly-intent POW 2. Affliction-7 (field commander) 3. MikeDegrade POW 4. Operation-Riot 5. Klotch POW 6. Virtual_Death 7. TheOtherground 8. COMIGAR (clan leader) 9. Deutscher75 10. Tri-Cannon POW 11. sleepaholic- 12. Flameboy92 13. Parkpolice 14. Recall-519 15. ikneadmonee 16. W1SSY (I is the number one 1) 17. Maxlmus666 (letter L for the i in maximus) POW 18. CrazyB0ngWater (Number 0 for the letter O in bong) 19. DeMiKs- 20. king-ofthe-dead POW 21. lostcause715 22. Z3ROS3VN 23. Aharp1 24. k-dash5 25. Medwid 26. openup-thebuchee 27. tonsofgunz 28. viciousice And here is the AoA roster AFTER the July roster update... 1. Deadly-intent POW 2. Affliction-7 (field commander) 3. MikeDegrade POW 4. Operation-Riot 5. Klotch POW - EXECUTED 6. Virtual_Death 7. TheOtherground 8. COMIGAR (clan leader) 9. Meiss88 10. Tri-Cannon POW - EXECUTED 11. sleepaholic- 12. Flameboy92 13. Parkpolice 14. Recall-519 15. ikneadmonee 16. W1SSY (I is the number one 1) 17. Maxlmus666 (letter L for the i in maximus) POW 18. CrazyB0ngWater (Number 0 for the letter O in bong) 19. DeMiKs- 20. king-ofthe-dead POW - EXECUTED 21. lostcause715 22. Z3ROS3VN 23. ThePrince20 24. k-dash5 25. Volcom92- 26. Ronin-7x 27. B1GShooter (1 instead of a I) 28.svh77970 29. BW1920 30.giantsocom 31. sadistickiller64 32. therenaissance- We are very disheartened that a clan like AoA had allowed something like this to happen. Clan members can say they didn't know...but the evidence of this action was stated right there on their public thread. Because of this dishonorable action, Urgent Fury is removing [AoA] from UF: Riot Act effective immediately. We truly hope, after this, AoA can do some house cleaning, from leadership down to the newest gunner, and fix what they need to in order to be trustworthy again here in the Urgent Fury community. All scheduled wars involving AoA this week are canceled. Urgent Fury has a zero-tolerance for cheating. We sincerely hope that AoA will have the focus to bounce back after this. For Urgent Fury - TOW Quote
chris_pheonix7 Posted July 9, 2008 Report Posted July 9, 2008 I knew everything and i didnt deny it. I respect your decision and i hope that all other clans have as much fun as we did, besides all of this, we did have a good time and I thank the creators for this tournament. Wedid use one player with a fake name KLOTCH aka B1gshooter and we used him because we were short handed in some of the wars . this is not Honorable and i apologize. There are alot of good clans in the tourny and i hope they have a good time. Quote
Guest KingJunk Posted July 9, 2008 Report Posted July 9, 2008 Ohh so this is what Chili was talking about :-X Ohh well.... its always sad to see a vet clan get booted from a Tourney! Good Luck AoA Quote
RNG187 Posted July 9, 2008 Report Posted July 9, 2008 AoA?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! :'( thats heartbreaking, i always thought you were upper tier! hopefully you can better yourselves from this.. Quote
DK_Deadly_Intent Posted July 9, 2008 Report Posted July 9, 2008 i would like to say sorry for our clan's actions. the staff has made the right choise in the matter. it was a lapse in judgement, and will not be repeated. we regret the choise's we have made, and the mistrust we have created. it was in our public section of our website, volcom was dropping flameboy as a psn because of being harrassed about his name, that was a clerical error. but klotch was a just a bad idea gone worse, and for that we are truely sorry. we hope that one day we will be deemed worthy of making it up to everyone involved. if not then we can understand. i will still visit this place either way. its still the best tourney site out there. later, di Quote
Guest NEO-X Posted July 9, 2008 Report Posted July 9, 2008 While it does suck that things panned out this way, your response was actually quite blunt, and well honestly.. It was nice to see you handling it in that manner, vs the "go out in a blaze of glory" mindset that some less mature clans tend to do. Good luck AoA Quote
DK_Deadly_Intent Posted July 9, 2008 Report Posted July 9, 2008 well i guess to little to late really sums it up. but thanks for the kind words. Quote
Guest SaTAnS_SoUlJa Posted July 9, 2008 Report Posted July 9, 2008 Wow...VERY Surprising and heartbreaking..... Good luck AoA Quote
[LA]MAXIMUS666 Posted July 9, 2008 Report Posted July 9, 2008 Sorry to UF, AoA, and all clans and members of the community. I knew Flambeboy changed his name, because we told him it sounded gay. In all honesty I never checked out the roster or played in any wars to make sure people weren't doubling names. Nonethless I should have, and the boys in the clan should not have let this happen. This is disheartening. It will not happen again. Quote
Prolog39 Posted July 9, 2008 Report Posted July 9, 2008 I hope you will harbour no ill feelings against SHO because of this incident. There was no way we could let something like this fly. We at SHO were not happy with your actions, however, we do understand that lapses of judgment happen and we hope that you can clean up your act and get back in the fray of things eventually. Best of luck in the future. Quote
lX-OSCEOLA-Xl Posted July 9, 2008 Report Posted July 9, 2008 You (AOA) are showing great integrity by taking responsibility, hope to see you soon in the future. Quote
chris_pheonix7 Posted July 9, 2008 Report Posted July 9, 2008 ye no hard feelings towards anybody Quote
Peebrain Posted July 9, 2008 Report Posted July 9, 2008 I was reading this whole thing in the CR section and I wanted to say that I think AoA handled themselves well. Despite all the attacks on your reputation, you handled this situation well AoA. Good luck in the future... Quote
TOW-19 Posted July 9, 2008 Author Report Posted July 9, 2008 Peebrain ]I was reading this whole thing in the CR section and I wanted to say that I think AoA handled themselves well. Despite all the attacks on your reputation, you handled this situation well AoA. Good luck in the future... The attacks on their reputation weren't coming so much from Clan Reps, Peebrain, more so than it was coming from their own members. Maximus said it above...the guys in his clan should not have let this happen. NO ONE is able to pull off a double-name within his own clan without SOMEONE knowing. It's just not possible. And when the question was posed "should I do this?" someone should have just said "no." But this is one of those lessons learned the hard way about clan honor here in UF. Just like in Japan or, god forbid, back when the typical family HAD some morals instead of acting however they can to get ahead, just one person can bring shame and dishonor to an entire family. This is simply what happened here. And as it's seen in the end, a LOT of dishonor and shame could have been saved if just ONE person said "this isn't right." Because someone like Maximus may not have noticed them doing this, but someone else DID. This has happened to clans before in the past. We'll just have to sit back and see if they make it back, as some do, or if they fade away into obscurity, as too many do. Quote

lafromla1 Posted July 9, 2008 Report Posted July 9, 2008 LORD_LUCIFER ]You (AOA) are showing great integrity by taking responsibility, hope to see you soon in the future. INTEGRITY would have been not doing anything like this in the first place. I am sorry but I can not sit back and say that they handled themselves well ONLY AFTER BEING CAUGHT. So basically its ok to cheat until your caught and then be absolved by apologizing? I don't think so. If I was a clan that faced them and lost, I'd be upset. Quote
Pathogen- Posted July 9, 2008 Report Posted July 9, 2008 well said, and something that a couple of the newer guys seem to have overlooked lol Crooks are always apologetic when caught, and celebratory when not! BUT...the matter has been handled, and we can all move past it and enjoy the rest of the tournament Quote
DK_MaluNYMets Posted July 9, 2008 Report Posted July 9, 2008 I have to tip my hat to AoA about coming out clean about it and not making any excuses. Good luck on fixing your problems hope to see you back soon. Always have a great time playing with you. Quote
chris_pheonix7 Posted July 9, 2008 Report Posted July 9, 2008 thanks maluney, and laformila, you make a good point but if you have seen how others have handled it then i think you would know that its better to come clean then to deny and make excuses and never have the situation properly resolved. Bandit99 Posted July 9, 2008 Report Posted July 9, 2008 Well I will just say I agree with lafromla1 and pathogen. Before we all want to hand out Blue Ribbons for integrity, remember you can only see what has transpired here in the public section. I for one was originally glad to see they were handling it with as much dignity as you can in a situation like this, however all that changed with just one post for me in the CR section. Quote
SHANE23 Posted July 9, 2008 Report Posted July 9, 2008 Maybe this should be locked before it gets out of hand. I am not saying it will but just in case. Quote
chris_pheonix7 Posted July 10, 2008 Report Posted July 10, 2008 what transpired in the cr section between you and me bandit, was between you and me, i just hope you got what you wanted and i am sorry for that post but it was the final straw for me and a lapse in judgement on my part. Quote

I agree with you, and we are not asking for our integrity to be praised in this situation. WE F$@%^D UP. Now don't go thinking we have been doing this for ever. In all the tourneys we have EVER played we often played shorthanded just because we did not want to use ringer names. Now once again im not saying we need to be praised, there are many clans here who have played from the original UF and have had no blemishes on their record. There is however clans that have blemishes, and have learned and moved on. We have learned and want to move on. WE F$%^&D UP. We are sorry. Lets move on. Quote
