I don't know if you actually believe what you just wrote or that its been long enough where you forgot what all happened. I brought up the word "disrespect" because thats exactly what was said about us by somebody who's probably sitting right next to you. I don't believe you (or we at that time) disrespected the UF community by deciding to leave. My issue was how WE were verbally attacked and dragged through the mud here by a Dv8 leader for a decision we made. Now your clan is in the same position (just having your own reasons should be good enough) and expecting you leaving to be acceptable and good enough? I agree that it should be (and ours should have been back then) but bro, come on now..... You have to understand a certain level of this community's frustration after what has all taken place.

Dv8 Clan, not Dv8 News, made a simple statement about passing on participating in the rest of Urgent Fury's Riot Act and, unfortunately, unbeknownst to us, a Dv8 member overstepped his bounds.

 

We planned on making a statement on the reasons why we are no longer going to be a part of this tournament, but we were trying to find the most politically correct words to explain without airing out dirty laundry.

 

It appears that some of you decided to make your own assumptions and accuse us of doing something that is certainly not true. What's more, UF community members such as Pathogen and WiZ, chose to add their negativity on the situation that has nothing to do with them, as they always do.

 

First let me say, iLL and SHO are one of the major reasons why we choose not to participate in this tournament, but not the main or only reason. We have no want to be a part of a tournament that supports clans like these that are no better than the horrible clans you find in Gamebattles.

Urgent Fury advertises Win with Honor, Lose with Dignity, but it appears that neither of the above stated clans have either Honor or Dignity. They push their way around the forums and situations that don't involve them and are allowed to do so because of how long they've been participating in UF. In fact, they seem to always use that as a crutch for the baseless arguements they start with so many here and, amazingly enough, get away with it.

 

In the short time, as everyone is so quick to point out, that we've been a part of this tournament, we've seen clans leave and never come back. We witnessed an "evaluation" period that we're still wondering what the point of it was for. There appears to be, per capita, the same amount of drama and cheating that occurs on Gamebattles, except Gamebattles has a rule for every situation, it appears the rules here in Urgent Fury, are subject to change per their creators discretion.

 

As a clan, this saddens us greatly because we have made many friends and met many respectable clans and gamers here, but we, as leaders, must do what is in the best interest of OUR clan. We could not, in all good conscience, continue to put our clan through this. It was not our intention to harm any of the remaining respectable clans currently battling in Riot Act and we sincerely apologize if this has disrupted your clans enjoyment of the tournament.

 

Dv8 News will continue to inform Playstation gamers about the Urgent Fury tournaments in the best light possible, as well as all the other tournaments/ladders available to the Playstation gamers and let them make the decision for themselves.

 

Thank you to all the respectable clans we had the opportunity to battle during Riot Act and we wish you the best of luck in the remainder of the tournament.

As far as you attempting to shift the focus of you leaving onto my clan, or iLL, and make some outrageous claim about us "pushing our weight" around...take a good look at UF's history and see how many clans have been ousted by the admin for overstepping their bounds. Our clans haven't been one of them. I think, perhaps, you may hold a grudge because one clan presented clear, irrefutable evidence of another clan's cheating and included a member of your news staff, and somehow you twist that to say that we have some kind of weight. All we did was express an opinion and lay out exactly what transpired, with photo evidence. What happens from there is out of our control, has nothing to do with us. As for iLL, and I can't speak for them only what I perceive you to be saying...you must be talking about your crass life partner's suspension due to her excessive potty mouth and rude behavior. That wasn't iLL's doing, that was HER doing. Take responsibility for your actions you two, and grow up.

 

Honestly, I"m done wasting my time on so trivial an excuse. Respond all you want, I wash my hands of you. By trying to say other clans are major reason in you leaving...it only lends others to believe that you are grasping at straws to maintain any credibility, and/or "save grace" as a clan soon to be out of the tourney. I would much have rather beaten you on the playing field...with the honor that is synonymous with the SHO tag....than beaten you here on the forums.

First off many parties are at fault. Point fingers where ever you want, but DV8 wanted to announce they were leaving the tournament and all id did was turn ugly. Many parties wanted to take this opportunity to bash DV8 and then tempers flared. If you posted in this thread all you did was bump a train wreck.

 

Guess what DV8 is bowing out of the tournament. GO complain about it to your clan mates on your own forums because it is finished here.

I just KNOW this is going to be a long post, so I'm going to buck my own trend here, and just lay it out bullet style.

 

1: Dv8 leaving is their own choice. You don't have to like it, you don't have to hate it. You don't have to do anything at all. If they want to leave, it's their choice.

 

2: [iLL], you don't like how Apple railed on you guys when you pulled out of Crucible. Fine. And she was banned for the comments she made. You guys still pissy over that? Get over it. Her response months ago had NOTHING or should have had nothing to do with you feeling entitled to question Dv8's leaving tonight. This isn't eye for an eye here, people. We don't work that way here. This is "take the high road" country. If someone wants to say things, let them. I don't know if we've ever failed to keep the peace around here. But then that's where it ends and everyone moves on. So MOVE ON.

 

3: I've read QUITE enough jabs, subtle or otherwise, in this thread (and some other thread regarding Dv8 News and $150) against UF, it's clans or its admins. Hi-Def, your last post on this thread was most disappointing and I did not imagine seeing that from you. Dv8 News will continue to inform Playstation gamers about the Urgent Fury tournaments in the best light possible, as well as all the other tournaments/ladders available to the Playstation gamers and let them make the decision for themselves. Well, all I can say there is that I hope we don't make it to hard on you to show us "in the best light." You make it sound like we're some public relations horror that needs to be spun to the public. I THOUGHT I knew what you thought of this community, but now I am not so sure.

What I can say is this....members of Dv8, though I will be specific here and put the brunt of this comment on just yours and Apple's shoulders, have been pretty abrasive here in your first stint within this community. From Apple's toilet mouth (which is TRUE juxtaposition to her sweet glowworm demeanor on your show), to your subtle jabs at this tournament and its admins, to Obidus's comments in your $150 thread, to your class-act M4A1 character who liked to brazenly belittle every single player here in UF....I just don't get you guys. You run a SHOW. You're SUPPOSED to act like you care about your reputation, and ITS reputation and your players' reputations. But all I have seen at this point is select Dv8 members, specifically their leadership, taking a VERY personal stake in ANYTHING said around them, whether or not it was even aimed at you or was a cut-down whatsoever.

I even took the time to try and cool Apple down when you had trouble on your forum regarding Apple's outrage over some European tourney backing out on you guys.....which was their right, yet they got blasted for it.....BY YOU. Evidently, any help I offered that day went in one ear and out the other.

In short and for the most part, Dv8 has been a tedious relationship at best and most of that is due to the short tempers of its leadership. Guys....you do a show. You put yourselves out there to the public. You'd THINK that by now, you could take some jabs with some thickened skin and move on. But it seems that you need to take every little breeze that blows your way and fire back with a tornado. The only exception I can make here from my OWN personal experience is your member, Public-Defender, who I have found to always be a courteous player and person. No matter WHAT situation Dv8 or any of its members have found their way in here in UF, there has NEVER....NEVER been an apology at the tail end of it. NEVER. Except for Public Defender, who felt compelled to PM the following to me after ONE of your Dv8 outbursts.....forgive me if I can't pinpoint exactly which out of the many it was....

You had your reasons, it's not my place nor worry if you didn't want to let us know AHEAD of time so that PERHAPS we could have mediated something between parties to allow your players to continue playing. I didn't care if you were leaving.

What I DO care about is the comments that your Dv8 members are making about OUR tourney on OUR forum. To compare, Def, if you need it.......NO ONE from Urgent Fury, creator or Staff....NO ONE from from my clan APC, whom I keep SEPARATE from Urgent Fury (like you say you do with your clan and Dv8 News) has ever blasted on you or your clan or your show on YOUR forums. NO ONE on "this" side has shown you, your camp or your show the disrespect that you have shown to us here. Try and wrap your mind around that for a bit because I know you may need a double take on that.

 

Please consider this a severance notice.

My Staff had been asking me this for weeks and, quite frankly, so have a lot of players here in UF. Why we consider risking our reputation that we carefully craft here for a couple of faceless tv show hosts who like to throw their respect out the window anytime they THINK they smell an insult coming their way, regardless whether or not there really is one to begin with. In Sniper's and my opinion, neither of you carry yourselves in a professional enough manner that we here at Urgent Fury would REQUIRE from a party that we associate with on an artistic level. We've given it enough time, but we clearly see no positives coming from this anymore. We THOUGHT we were pairing up with something that could do as much good for us as we would for them.

We have given you a tourney, subject matter to report on, a place, an HONEST place, to game it up for your clan, and we have populated your forum. REALLY populated your forum.

You have given us.......Dv8. Hell, I don't even know if your show has brought ONE single clan here to Urgent Fury that hasn't already been here.

So you can see, from our stand point, further association with Dv8 News simply does Urgent Fury NO GOOD. What we have here is not a "partnership," it's a symbiotic relationship. One is getting more than the other.

I'm not saying I agree with that European league for getting uppity with you, because I do not have all the facts, but I can say that I potentially UNDERSTAND them more.
