Im not sure if anyone else watched the all star game. But i feel like they actually picked the right people this year. It was a great game, great ending. AL has won 12 straight now. lol

I love baseball, but I think it's retarded that the all-star game determines home field advantage in the World series. I wish I could have watched it, but I was out with my dad for his birthday, it sounds like it was a great game.

That is the real problem here, there is no way this game should mean anything and it should have ended tied in the 12th or something. Francona had to use a starter that pitched 2 days ago for a team he is only 1/2 a game ahead of in the standings....now if he gets hurt this week or something it is going to be the biggest deal ever.

Home field advantage switched every year which fucked over the A's in '85, '86 and '87. They made the World Series every year but only won in '86 because thats the only year they had home field advantage.

Yes it should go by record, wtf!?! Basketball does it, Hockey does it and it makes sense.... It didn't make sense before interleague play because you had no like competition but now that they do it should definitely be by record.

 

It like this: lets say Tampa squeaks in as the wild card this year with something like 90 wins, then they make to the World series against a 100 win Cubs team, Tampa would get home field advantage because of this silly exhibition game.

 

I know this is an old argument, but I think every year it becomes more annoying, especially around this time.
