I really don't like the Over The Shoulder or OTS camera. The game itself seems awesome, the graphics look really nice. I noticed how the crosshairs don't change size when you run, just like SOCOM 1! I remember you could shotgun people with the M87 from across the map, lol.

I'm sure they still have some things to update. Did you notice the crosshairs had zero recoil? I'm sure that's gotta change. And yes I'm still hoping for bloooood!!

I like how your character runs over simple barricades in the road and you don't have to jump. I think that is much better, I just hope they didn't take out jumping!!! I saw no one jump in the video.

Actually, If you pause the video at 1:26 some guy is in mid air, is that a jump? Hmm...

 

Then at 00:32, he is going off the SEAL Bridge and you can hit X to run off. Thats cool.. I guess.

if this was truely going to be ready by xmas- WHY NO E3 SHOWING? I mean think about it. SONY NEEDS to sell ps3's THIS holiday season why no showing of the game? I hope they do not continue to rush this game out. I can wait till next spring for a better socom.

As Seth Luisi stated in his interview, they are not looking to impress the old school hardcore gamer but looking to broaden their audience. What does this mean? They are changing Socom to attract a larger base which in my books is good.

 

If they never changed anything, always brought back previous maps, used the same game dynamics so on and so on, they everyone would just bitch that it's the same game as they have in the past. It's time for change, time for a different engine, time for new maps. Out with the old and in the new. This is going to be the best move yet.

I do think it is a pretty "F'd" up statement since us "Old School Hardcore Gamers" is what made Socom such a hit then and today. But I agree that it's time for change....Now bring back the blood damn it!!!

all i know is it looks tight as hell.

but i will not be able to afford the ps3

nor do i think it is worth the money they want for it..i only play two games madden and socom..ont feel like paying 5oo dollars to play 2 games...

 

i hope it is playable on the ps2...should be or they just telling eveyone that doesnt have a ps3 to f#CK off...

I think they will give you the option to use traditional 3rd person or the new OTS style shooting. This is just an early video, give it time and everything will probably look better. I personally can't wait for the beta to be available for download on the PSN.
