PS3 Firmware (v2.70) Update

Hi everyone, we’re adding some great new features with the next PS3 firmware update (v2.70) that will continue to enhance your connected experience on the PS3. The 2.70 update brings a new Text Chat feature that enables you to communicate online with your PlayStation Network friends. Now, you’ll be able to chat with up to 15 online friends using the Wireless Keypad, on-screen keyboard, or other compatible keyboard peripherals. Not only can you chat with your friends instantly, but you can also access Text Chat while playing PS3 games and even participate in up to three chat rooms at once.

 

In addition to Text Chat, we’ve added a few more enhancements:

 

Friends list on the XMB (XrossMediaBar)

 

* Sort your friends via their online status

* Attach larger files to the messages you send to your friends (file size will increase from 1MB to 3MB)

 

Video delivery service on PlayStation Store

 

* Video files you’ve purchased from the PlayStation Store can be backed up to an external storage device and then restored to PS3’s internal hard drive for playback – so you can clear up space on your hard drive and then restore the video anytime in the future

* Videos you’ve purchased for PSP (PlayStation Portable) system can now be transferred to PS3 for playback

Lol, we ended up trying to play a war during this mess, people would just appear next to you,

was not the best experience.

 

on a side note, that text feature is retarded, you can have 15 people join it, shut it down, see

all the msgs being sent like psn msgs, while your alive running around in socom.

I really hope they shut it down for socom some how.

True that.. which is why clans must be screened! Down with hell week, up with "Bi-annual evaluation tournament from Hell"

How much communication do you need? Do you really have to address that important call of whether oreos or chocolate chip is better in the bathroom? Or talk on the phone while getting your medication and asking a question at the pharmacy? Hold on im playing a tactical game but wait let me text someone so I can leave the others on my team hanging.

I agree there should be evaluations on clans already in UF.

Mets- Oreos own....You can have your entire team in a chat, its easy to switch back and forth by just pressing the psn button, also it could be instead of the vote turn around thing just turn around or something. Everyone can see and use it simple and easy.

Not that you would answer with clans that you think need to be evaluated but I think we have the best community around.

 

Also I believe the forum rules prohibit open blasting of UF clans.

All I was trying to say was if your going to dance around the subject why say anything. Or if you have a problem with a clan why not say something to them instead of implying it in a general forum for everyone to read.

You didn't you danced around it. You said you think current UF clans need to be evaluated. Thats what I commented about and if you don't intend on using names why say anything at all?

 

I'm a part of the Eval team and I think the process works great.

 

By the way the clans that play here already "prove" themselves in the tournaments they play in. If there's a problem they are removed.

 

I think your comment was off the mark, and thats my opinion. Everyone can read what you wrote, its right ther.
