As horrid as the memories of this photo are for me and my fellow Bear fans...Look for this to happen again, sans Tony Dungy. Muahahaha! Peyton Manning greatest Quarterback of all time when the dust settles.

Friday was a sad day for football, losing one of the great QB's to step on the field and a great person. First ballot hall of famer without a doubt imo.

Bears hire Mike Martz as Offensive Coordinator
o-BacklasH-o replied to o-BacklasH-o's topic in Sports
Here's an article from the Trib, which sort of addresses most of my concerns: http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/football/bears/ct-spt-0202-bears-bits--20100201,0,7015701.story -
Bears hire Mike Martz as Offensive Coordinator
o-BacklasH-o replied to o-BacklasH-o's topic in Sports
I agree with you whole heartedly. I don't want to see us become the Colts, especially with the young talent we have in Forte/Bell. Also Martz offensive schemes tend to ignore the Tight End a lot, which means our two youngest talents on offense next to Cutler aren't going to be used to their potential. Also I read an article that brings up an interesting point. First the article talked about Martz having had to be interviewed by Jay first before the hiring. Who's coaching this team again...? Another thing is there are a LOT of egos involved now. Martz will now be working under Lovie, after Lovie worked under Martz for years in St. Louis. Also Martz joins Rod Marinelli, whom if you remember, fired Martz when he was head coach of the Lions and Martz was OC. -
WOW. I'm shocked that they've stooped this low. It seems as though they are ready to abandon the run game and Matt Forte completely. Martz running backs A.F. (After Faulk) have been simply AWFUL. Even Frank Gore had his worst statistical output in Martz' one year as OC in San Fransisco. To Martz's credit he should be able to help Cutler and the offense. Anyone who can make Jon Kitna a 4,000 yard passer either deserves a lot of credit to knowing the passing game or simply cannot run the ball. I think it's a bit of both, but oh well. I think this is a bad signing from the word GO and another nail in the coffin's of Jerry Angelo and Lovie Smith.... I'm a diehard Bears fan, so I'll be optimistic still. I just want to see Forte return to rookie form, not regress yet again this upcoming year. Martz will likely get him even more involved in the passing game though which sounds crazy (Forte has caught 120 passes in 2 seasons). We shall see what the rest of the offseason holds though.

EA made the best baseball franchise until they lost their license. MVP Baseball was GREAT (so was Triple Play in it's day), but they lost their license and the college version was just boring. I can't wait to see if The Show holds up on it's word. The league was fun last year in the short time it lasted. Matty and I had some NASTY slugfests lol. I got dibs on my Cubbies this year though!
-
I didn't either until last year. I did this league and it was fun, but hard for me to keep up with at times. It takes place during both Fantasy Football/Baseball seasons, so this year will be a no go for me. I spend a ton of time researching baseball during Fantasy Season, so I won't have the time for it this year.
-
So I'm still torn on my options. A guy on EBAY is selling my exact everything for 219.00 NO BIDS and 20+ mins left...Gamestop is out because they only offer $100. Gamecrazy is out because I don't have one within 30-45 minutes of me. Craigslist it might be, though I've never used it.
-
Why not bring it back and forth?
-
Just a feeble attempt to draw attention from the only Baseball Video Game Franchise that matters anymore...MLB The Show. I couldn't stand 2K sports games, but I believe I tried 2 years ago's edition...no bueno. Tons of flaws and glitches. Not that The Show was bug free it's first year, but they've advanced leaps and bounds.

NFL Conference Championship Round Predictions
o-BacklasH-o replied to o-BacklasH-o's topic in Sports
This is what I was getting at. Refs blew a lot of calls (including the pass interference call that sealed FG range...). NFL VP of officiating stated the Favre high/low hit should have been a 15 yarder which would have put the Vikes in the RZ. Check out the article. It's just really upsetting that the better team is sitting home because of poor officiating (and I'm a DIEHARD Bears fan saying this). The Vikings cost themselves chances, but they could have overcame the mistakes if so many crucial calls didn't go against them. Oh well, Peyton and the Colts are going to end the "feel good" story of the Saints. Although I thought 2006 was supposed to be the feel good story when the Bears KOed em in the NFC title game. Sorry Hippie. Here's the article: http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/playoffs/2009/news/story?id=4868880- 25 replies

Well here's my timeline of PS3's... I bought a 20 gig at launch because that's ALL that you could touch around here for the first few weeks (without spending ridiculous prices on Ebay). This was fine, until good titles started coming out on the PS3 and the 20 gig's of space was insufficient for my gaming needs. Also I needed Wifi for when I travel and bring my PS3 along (just in case the hotel has a firewall on the ethernet). I upgraded to the "newer" 80 gig in September of 08 and sold my launch 20 gig to gamestop. I was a little bummed when I found out this wasn't like the MGS4 80 gig that had the capture card slots and 4 USB ports, but it was fine. Well that one got the YLOD in December of that same year...We were amid Horseman and I believe UF Black at the time of the crash, so I was forced to go buy another 80 gig, because waiting the 2-3 weeks for fixing was not an option. I got a BRAND new PS3 from Sony in January when I eventually sent out my broken PS3 (which had a 2 week turnaround, I was impressed). I sold that one from Sony on Ebay for roughly $350 and ended up losing only $50 from buying the replacement. That is still my current PS3 and it's on it's last leg. It seems like the "newer" 80 gigs had a LOT of crashing problems. I haven't heard a bad thing about the SLIMS, but skeptics are abound. I will be upgrading to a 250 GB SLIM at the end of the week and my worries of another PS3 breaking on me will be gone.

NFL Conference Championship Round Predictions
o-BacklasH-o replied to o-BacklasH-o's topic in Sports
Hippie my foot is firmly in my mouth, though turnovers really cost the Vikes. I truly think the better team is going home, but that's the way it goes sometimes. I still stand by my first thought, that the Colts will beat the Saints in the Superbowl if that was going to be the matchup. Should be a good game anyways. My .500 playoff record pick em' record continues, but when the Colts win I'll be above .500 LOL. I'll really be eating some humble pie if the Saints win again.- 25 replies

I'm at a loss for words. I feel dumber having just watched all 3 +minutes.

That's a good deal, opposed to paying $150 to get it fixed. My PS3 is GOING to break soon. I know it is. Freezes more and more every day, hangs up on load screens all the time, has weird hitches on startup, and I even had it freeze when browsing my friends list and upon reboot it had to reformat something. I didn't lose any data, but the end is near. :'( I keep procrastinating on selling it on Ebay to pick up a SLIM, but I'm planning on listing it today.

NFL Conference Championship Round Predictions

This is why I'm cheering on the Colts today. It would be great to have a native New Orleanian and the son of a former Saints QB play in the Superbowl against the Saints. Peyton will just end up beating the Aints if he gets past the Jets, so I don't know why you're cheering for him! The Saints will be done tonight anyhow.- 25 replies

Zipper working on Unannounced PS3 game!!! SOCOM 4???
o-BacklasH-o replied to Marlne's topic in Playstation
And the best part about that is most of the DLC was finished back in early Summer of 09 when they started laying people off (including my source at S6). With the NDA's and cracking down on leaks, I've found it harder to get information on the coming Socom, but I am happy with what I know. :-X Also I too hope that there is one key addition to that E3 list. -
LOL Lordy. Thanks for the kind words Path!
