i have no problems with vista, only IE7, piece of shit i have to use until i figure this out. so it's something ELSE? not the acint virus? if you can send me/find me/help me a little bit more on finding a freeware that can allow me to compress just about 11gigs of music and bs, i'd be more than happy to nuke my system and start over. i was thinking about that, the school i work at has mac leopard CDs laying around....should i? the other thing is, i only know how to do a system restore, excuse my technological ignorance but would that completely wipe out my OS too?

yeah, i know exactly what i downloaded to cause this. i was looking for a microsoft office 07 keygen, found one and a crack. downloaded it, clicked on the keygen, it LITERALLY disappeared. clicked on the crack and the same thing happened. at the time i just blew it off. that's what i've been doing, i've virus scanned, AVG, S&D, CCleaner, those programs you PMed me, everything. my computer actually has been getting up to speed, but i cant use firefox, so i downloaded opera and tried that, didnt work. tried downloading safari for windows, didnt work. so i knowthe virus is still there i just haven't removed it, which is why i want to completely remove rundll32.exe and use the one i got from a work computer on the same OS. i put the clean one in notepad, saved it as a .exe and when i opened it, it ran perfectly, NOW i just have to get the old one off. something else i noticed is i keep getting a pop-up in the top lefthand corner of my screen when i have a browser open, the pop up is for some illegal MP3 website, anybody know of any good and free adware scans? btw, i owe this community a huge thank you for all your help..

okay, i found a computer at work with the exact same OS, opened the program in notepad, copied and pasted it into an email, sent it to myself. i now i have CLEAN, safe running version of rundll32.exe, how do i delete the old one? i'm on vista home premium btw..

i couldnt figure it out goat, LOL its like deciphering sloppy chinese handwriting! i havent thought of reinstalling the service pack, ill try that. i've been playing with the freeware krazy suggested, hasnt helped a bit. that's what im working on now, finding a compressor for videos/music/documents, then am going to completely wipe my system and start over.

yeah, when this problem first arose i tried deleting the rundll32.exe itself and it wouldnt let me.

i already PMed him in regards to that, the trial is next to useless for my problem, but thank you disciple for the help either way. anybody else have an idea/solution/knowledge of possible malicious programs? i'm on vista home, updated last week, spybot, AVG, and CCleaner were run last night, and earlier today, teatimer is always on. i forgot wheree i saw it, but i saw the rundll32.exe thng pop-up, and opened the pgram in notepad and found a LOT of writing in different symbols, and it loks like the russian alphabet too. i could decypher some of it b/c it was in english, but i think this excess gibberish is something bad.

i did, corruptor, basically says this. can't delete the file itself b/c you NEED that computer, checked techie forums and said that if you delete it, programs wont work. it's a virus/trojan/worm/IDK hidden under that program, i currently have the program open in notepad, i see a LOT of gibberish, and unknown symbols, the regular file is supposed to be 32kb, this is 45kb. disciple if this works, i will fly/drive to where you livve, hug you, buy you a beer, and go home.
