so keep an open mind here.. but i smoked a pack + a day for 12 years.. in 2004 my wife got pregnant and she a smoker of 8 years stopped for the health of our baby. she nagged and nagged at me to quit and told me almost on the hour how bad i stunk and how i should consider my sons health... well about 12 months later my son had arrived and was about 3 months old my mom works at a spa and informed me that they had an accupuncturist who might be able to help me quit... long story short i smoked like normal up till the morning of my apt.. i had 3 sessions over 7 days and i have never thought about lighting up since... that was on 2005. True story so maybe something to look into if your really ready to quit I had heard good things about acupuncture. I knew someone who was able to get her lifelong chronic migraines cured by it. My only reason for never trying it was I'm afraid of needles. It's embarrassing to say this but I nearly faint every time I need to give blood. I'd be trying some acupuncture to lose weight as well, if I had the guts.

True, it was a disappointment but it did improve the game in a lot of ways. Well, except for changing the control scheme... but I've gotten used to it. I think I'd be even more pissed if they stopped releasing patches completely and left us high and dry. Besides, I don't want them to do Big Things® with the patches, just fix stuff. The 1.30 patch hype was more caused by cheerleading fanbois and viral marketing hype. I've been keeping my expectations low and it;s been working out great I can see from your signature you no longer have a PS3 but you do have a 360. I hope you have your foil hat on nice and tight, so that the Bill Gates mind control rays can't get to you.

But you see, that's exactly the point. Replacing one thing that is killing you to something that isn't. And for so many reasons. What type of e-cig did you own before? I see that your only 20 years old so you really couldn't have been smoking very long. I think that e-cigs work really well but work when all the other options have been tried and haven't worked. Seeing as how young you are, I highly doubt you've tried all the other option that are out there. It sucks that it made you feel like crap but there's no way in hell it made you feel worse than smoking cigarettes. As for it being another thing to buy, well, you must not be familiar with how much cigarettes and the related health issues cost. I think that e-cigs by far are more economical in place of analogs. And if you have managed to try all the options out there to quit smoking (assuming you had trouble quitting) the you'd know that the other options are very expensive. If you're rich or have your parents pay for that stuff for you, then perhaps the economical aspect would be confusing. Gaming for instance can be seen as "just something else to buy" but yet here we are "wasting money" on what amounts to a hobby. Buying something for (responsible) health reasons really can't be faulted in light of that, right? And smoking isn't something you "get over", lol. If you've ever dealt with any addiction, you know that it's there forever, always niggling in the back of your mind, the temptation always there. If quitting smoking was easy, the tobacco companies would have been out of business a long time ago. At least this way, you can battle your nicotine addiction or give into it-- while not killing yourself. For those that don't see the logic, well-- I'm sorry. And to be clear, I'm not suggesting anyone pick up e-cigs if you're a non-smoker (or non-tobacco user) as that would be utterly stupid.

Oh wait... did I see a prone sniper? One of my biggest gripes with BF:BC was the lack of prone. I liked the first installment, along with the lack of prone, I hated the "squad only" chat and the random squads. More clan support and a better voice chat system are needed. I won't be pre-ordering BF:BC2 though.

I'm just glad that they haven't given up... At least they're not saying "fuck it" and moving on to the next game in the franchise. That being said, they slow as fuck getting these patches out. It seems like they're dragging their feet. It's probably slow because they have to find a way to patch the game and undo tons of crap... basically recoding large parts of the game. I'm looking forward to patch 1.42 as the ONLY issue I have been having since the 1.41 patch was the random spawns. Although it is fun to spawn on the enemy side and wreak some havoc, sorta like "Whack-a-Mole".

I like smoking too. That's why I think that none of the other solutions worked for me. I've told myself that I need to quit for so long but after so many failed attempts, it gets discouraging. But now after finding something that looks and feels like smoking, I think I got my tobacco habit under control. Two months so far, tobacco free! I to hate the stink of cigarettes but not more than my wife who has never smoked. Heh, now I don't need to hear her complain about my "ashtray mouth" anymore. Another thing that's been an odd side effect... I can smell and taste things better since I quit the analogs. I ended up deodorizing my van because it stank and I didn't realize it. Thank God for Febreeze! And Chili is right... one is all it takes before your right back on the cancer sticks! for me that "one" is usually around others who are smoking while we're drinking. Also, the Volcano is an awesome device ;D

TRUFAX. Yeah, nicotine is a poison. Yeah, it's addictive. Fact is, when you're a smoker, you get poisoned but tons of other things along with your nicotine. And since it's not the nicotine that gives you cancer but the OTHER shit that's in a cig, why not switch to something that has the thing that you're addicted to anyway and cut out all the bad crap. "Why don't you just quit instead of smoking 'fake' cigarettes?" Is a common question, especially from non-smokers. If ONLY is was that easy. Starting smoking is probably the WORST decision I've ever made. Then I found myself stuck with this addiction. Lots of times I told myself, "I can quit any time I want to, I just don't want to!". I just feel that something like this is gonna save someone from cancer. It's going to be the reason someone quits.

Anyway, since I started "vaping" (as opposed to smoking), I haven't smoked an "analog" cigarette yet. I don't even crave one. This is the first thing that's worked, and I've tried, quitting "cold turkey", hypnosis, pills like Chantix, patches, gums and inhalers... nothing's worked up to this point except this electronic cigarette. I'm trying to get my father-in-law to switch to these e-cigs because he's got emphysema and COPD and needs oxygen. He just can't quit smoking those cancer sticks, and after 55 years of smoking, it's killing him. Besides the obvious health issues, there's other reasons to "vape" instead of "smoke". The vapor doesn't stink-- it has just slight scent of whatever flavor of the liquid you use, there's tons of flavors. No raunchy smoke smell, no ashes, no fire, no stale smoke smell on your clothes, etc, etc. Another reason to try something like this, is that hefty tax hike on tobacco here in the US, come April 1st. The model that I use, is referred to as a "Super-Mini" style, it looks enough like a cigarette that it can pass as one if someone glances at it. There's many different styles and models though, even "pipe styles" and "lady pipe style" and even "e-cigars" that look like fat stogies. Is anyone else here a "vaper" by any chance?

Sounds like you inadvertently changed a setting in your browser so that it deletes all your previous history, including cookies every time you close your browser. Different browsers handle those setting differently but you should be able to change it.

I was amazed that there wasn't a 20 minute install. I was waiting for that My first thought after that Helgast guy stopped stalking was-- Aww shit, they used that gritty (or 'noisy') graphics engine from Battlefield Bad Company! :-\ That being said, the graphics are great, but there's a lot of popup at a distance (like in that map with the 4 bridges that traverse that canyon). You can see through walls in some parts of certain maps, until you zoom in. The game plays more like BC:BC than it does CoD4. Even with the Alt. 2 controls, it still "feels" like BF:BC to me. Not a bad thing because at least you can talk to your team! There's a form of proximity chat. If you're near another players, you hear them as if they're on your team-- through the chat channel, there's no directional information, like the ProxChat in SOCOM Confrontation. It's more like that eavesdrop perk in CoD4. In large rooms, this can mean chaos. There's no online bots anymore... as someone mentioned, there were people rank and stat whoring with them, so they patched the game as a temporary solution. Hopefully, they'll bring back the bots for online practice. The grenades are just... weird. They don't seem to go where you expect them to. They sort of zip-zag that last bit. That being said, the game is great fun. The graphics are nice and the hit detection is excellent. I ranked up enough, to get the shotgun and the smg, and those are lots of fun. The smg tears people apart. The shotgun sends people flying when you blast them. The death "sprites". I know they use real physics but they seem... delayed. There's an audible sound when you kill someone. I think that sound is so you know they're dead (mortally wounded) and don't waste ammo. Headshots cause their helmets to fly off and it's a very satisfying feeling ;D So far, there's not a lot of people ranked up enough to choose a class. So you won't get a medic to revive you. However, the few medics I did come across, at least made an effort to revive you when they could. You get revived by their laser gun Overall, the game is great. I had a bitch of a time trying to use the default setting, as I'd hit the R3 (Zoom) button when in a firefight and end up scoping in and dying. The propaganda speakers can get annoying. I wish there was a way to turn the sound for just those off. It seems that you cannot visit the Killzone.com website from within the game because the site requires Flash, and then when a game opens a browser window, it disables Flash, so the KZ site has a window from Adobe telling you to upgrade to Flash 9 because it thinks the browser doesn't have it. I think it has to do with some sort of memory constraint with the PS3 running a game, and a browser with Flash, all at the same time. Earlier today, the KZ site was down, and when you went to visit the site from within the game, it just loaded forever on a white page, and you had to quit the game to get out of that screen. It works okay directly through the PS3 browser. You actually have to think about your ammo in this game. If you choose a weapon that not a lot of other people have, then you won't be able to walk over their guns and take ammo. You'd have to stop and take the time to pick up their weapon, and then your stuck with how much ammo they died with. The two guns you start out with are pretty lame but the ISA (human) automatic rifle is mildly better because the dot scope. The Helgast (alien Nazis) gun is more powerful at close ranges but has iron sites but better burst accuracy up close. You can pick either gun, regardless of whether your Helgast or ISA. You're stuck with their respective pistols though. It'll be fun leveling up to unlock more weapons and perks. It's obvious that a lot of thought went into the maps, there's sneaky spots and cover spots, everywhere. Each side has their vantage points and counterpoints. While not being completely symmetrical (and boring) they've made each maps pretty well-balanced. I like that there's automatic gun turrents at the main spawn spots, so that the other team can't spawn camp. Even if they're destroyed, the game respawns them and when you rank up and use an engineer class, you can build your own. It's one of those games though, where if you just jump in a mixed room, you get a few guys that ranked up early and have more weapons and perks, and that can tip the balance off, if the room is not set to auto-balance. Or if you search for a game and not specify the search with a game with players around your level. I haven't played the single-player campaign yet, so I can't comment on that.

My wife used to bug me about gaming or being on the computer all the time... So initially, it was difficult. But she works nights, so that's when I'm playing. Then I introduced her to WoW, so she'd have something to do when I'm playing my games during the day. So when I'm not working on a project and she's off of work, we spend time together but if I want to get online, it's not a big deal because she's got stuff to occupy her time. Besides that, I make sure she's got all her shows downloaded, commercial free, so she can go watch what she wants. There's always a buffer so she's not just sitting there staring at me Someone else said, answer her when she asks you something when your playing. I eliminated that problem by getting headphones, lol. So now she has to get up and tap me on the shoulder-- I'm only bugged for important stuff now. But regardless, it's RL before anything online. So, she lets me play as much as I want with minimal fuss, as long as I don't ignore her wants and needs.
