    Hello again Freedom Wars fans! With less than a week to go until Freedom Wars finally hits North America, I wanted to deliver a few more details regarding our awesome cast of characters and Western Panopticons to our English-speaking “Sinners†out there. As you’ve seen through our various trailers, even throughout the multitude of cooperative and competitive modes, the story of Freedom Wars takes center stage. While contributing to society and steadily decreasing that million-year sentence, you’ll encounter a myriad of interesting, (and might I add stylish) characters, starting with: Aries A mysterious girl who appears in front of our main character from time to time. Her prophetic-sounding words seem to be leading you down a certain path, but her true motives remain a mystery… Natalia “9†Woo The tough-as-nails Commander of The Office of Peace and Stability, 35th division. Natalia is tasked with protecting the peace in her Panopticon and keeping the Sinners in line. She might seem cold at first glance, but Natalia’s rigid demeanor masks her deep-seated wish to protect her teammates. Uwe “Sakamoto†Cabrera A veteran prisoner and brave warrior who’s earned the respect of society through his efforts on the battlefield. He’s taught countless prisoners that the only freedom they have left is “to choose how you fight and live with that decision.†Mattias “Leo†Bruno An inexperienced prisoner, Mattias considers himself to be your rival. Although he can be a bit competitive, he’s known to have an honest personality and won’t shy away from lending a hand. Abel “Strafe†Balt One of the strongest prisoners in the world, Abel is in control of one of the “Three Prototype†Abductors – “Red Rage.†He is by all means considered to be extremely dangerous. Beatrice “Lilium†Anastasi The heroine of our story, held deep within the main character’s Panopticon, under constant surveillance. Her positive attitude and warm personality make her an instant friend and ally, ready to fight by your side as she bravely confronts her destiny.And last but not least, your official Panopticon mascot: Percy Propa! Percy is the voice of the Panopticon – his job is to relay messages and issue orders to you, although in a very kind, gentle way. You’ll often see him appearing on the various screens throughout your home Panopticon, shouting his favorite phrase: “For the Greater Good!†Suffice to say, the characters you’ll encounter in Freedom Wars will help make your experience a very memorable one – they’ll join you both on and off the battlefield throughout the story as you uncover the truth about the world and discover what “freedom†truly is. I also wanted to take a moment and respond to one of the most frequent questions I’ve received from fans across the world: Which Panopticons are included in the Western release of the game?     It seems that many of you have been enjoying the opportunity to check out Rainbow Moon, which is currently part of the Instant Game Collection. Today, I would like to show you the first video footage of our new game Rainbow Skies on PS3 and PS Vita, which we’ve been working on for some time now. Rainbow Skies takes place in a completely new world and is an indirect sequel to Rainbow Moon. The game tells the story of the three young protagonists Damion, Layne, and Ashly, that meet under unforeseen circumstances and who get caught in the deadly crossfire of two rival superpowers. Using Rainbow Moon as a foundation allows us to continue to improve all of our core features and introduce many new gameplay elements, such as monster taming and a combining skill attacks, some of which you can get a sneak peek at in the trailer. For fans of Rainbow Moon, rest assured the gameplay and structure that are a trademark of the series are our still our highest priority and we endeavor not to disappoint! Rainbow Skies will contain more than 10 times the amount of world and dungeon content compared to Rainbow Moon, so whenever you explore a new area or set foot into a new dungeon it will feel like a completely new adventure.     #GoatnessAwaits Hello, PlayStation.Blog readers! This is Ian, main creator of Escape Goat 2, with some important news: the goat has made its way to your PS4! Escape Goat 2 debuted in March for PC, and has since enjoyed an overwhelmingly positive fan response. My proudest one is reaching the #2 spot on IndieGamerChick’s leaderboard of over 500 games reviewed. (Journey still ranks #1, and… Yeah, I’m okay with that). It’s also the very first Double Fine Presents game. Can a dev ask for more than a nod from Tim Schafer? Every bit worth the golf club injury, from which I have fully recovered. Simply put, the goal of the game is to reach the pinnacle of the Stronghold of Toragos — a structure laden with traps, hidden machinery, lightning machines, and ghostly animals. The theme is transformation: levels change dramatically as you solve them, some of them in a Rube Goldberg type of way. Along the way, you’ll need to rescue some of the sheep who have fallen under the tower’s spell. There are over 100 puzzle rooms in all, but in an act of generosity on my part, you only have to complete half of them to reach the ending. If you’re thirsty for more, there are additional challenges, some very well hidden. I know what you’re thinking. “Goats are capable of so many uncanny feats, but can they really overcome these lightning machines and relentless reapers? Dramatic license only goes so far.†Correct! That’s why I added in a faithful mouse companion to help our hero along the way. He’s an immortal friend who reaches places the goat can’t, and becomes a puzzle-solving utility on par with the Portal gun. So what makes the game special? It’s kind of the sum of its parts — platforming, puzzle solving, dark atmosphere, farm animals — but if I had to pick one thing, it would be the physics system. I decided to write my own physics code, which took forever, but the end result is something special. Levels transform dramatically, and yet things always stay aligned to make the puzzles solvable. Physics based games always do a great job of making chaos from order, and Escape Goat 2′s engine makes sure that no matter how chaotic things get, blocks resolve to grid alignment. When you play, you’ll see what this means! I’d like to thank everyone from PlayStation who made this possible. They are really following through with their initiative to add indie games like mine to their library. I’m really excited to see the reception for this game in the console world.     The game formerly known as “Avoid Droid†has undergone a name change since you last heard about it… We really liked the original name as it perfectly summed up the game in just two words, but a question we had to ask ourselves here at Infinite State Games: did we like the name more than we liked not going to court? Short answer: no. You see, the word “droid†is a registered trademark of Lucasfilms Ltd. And we’re pretty sure they have more lawyers than our crack team of… zero. So we say goodbye to Avoid Droid and hello to Don’t Die, Mr. Robot! It’s a fruity arcade dodge-em-up with the focus on adrenaline fuelled, skin-of-your-teeth dodging, score chasing, and endless replayability. It’s got everything a true fan of arcade games needs: fruit, explosions, multipliers… And we’re really excited to bring Don’t Die, Mr. Robot! to PS Vita this year. Mr. Robot loves fruit! But whenever he tries to eat a fruit, it explodes. Poor Mr. Robot! It’s not all bad though because exploding fruit destroys the endless hordes of robotic enemies hell bent on crushing, zapping, chomping, or otherwise making Mr. Robot die. It’s got something for everyone! There’s three lovingly tuned game modes. 50 remix missions that each bring a unique twist to the core gameplay. And a quirky original soundtrack dynamically formed from what’s happening in the game. There are thousands of customizations for your Mr. (or Mrs.) Robot in the shop. So while you can spend your hard-earned currency on powerful upgrades, you can also buy a new outfit — because just dodging isn’t enough. You should look awesome while doing it! Especially as your outfit goes on display in the global leaderboards for all the world to see. And if all that isn’t enough, we’ve also pulled in five special guests from other great indie titles. Each has their own unique twist to the game for you to discover! What’s not to like? Getting a rubbish score, that’s what. And dying. So here’s our special PRO TIPS guide for you lovely readers of PlayStation.Blog on how to get some serious high scores going: Wait for the fruit to build up! For the biggest scores, concentrate on letting as many fruit appear on screen before you set off the explosive chain. This will make moving harder but the risk-reward payoff to get a x30 multiplier on the score is worth it. Avoid the edges of the screen. That’s where the baddies come from. You don’t want Mr. Robot hanging around there. Keep an eye out for the hazard signs; they’ll warn you half a second or so in advance of an enemy spawn. Destroy them all! If you can destroy every enemy in a wave you’ll get a wave bonus. Combine a few of these with a big fruit chain and watch the points roll in. Graze enemies. Get close to enemies without touching them and you’ll be rewarded with a Danger Bonus, which gets bigger depending on how long you spent in the danger zone. This is well worth exploiting on slow enemies moving in a predictable direction. You don’t have to move much to stay alive. The best way to not die is to stay still, moving only when you need to. Stay calm, you’re going to blow up eventually anyway. Find which control scheme works best for you. Analog sticks? Digital pad? Or maybe the silky smooth tilt controls? Or maybe even the quirky rear touch pad controls? Experiment and find out which works for you. Wearing the proper hat is very important. As are the proper shades. Your ability to play won’t be improved but they will represent you on the leaderboard so style is key. And there we have it! Getting to this point is a major achievement, and every launch day is a special one for each person involved, so it’s important that I start off by giving recognition to the great team behind this project! Equally important is that I express my personal gratitude to all of our loyal fans who have been waiting for more than 4 years since the previous installment. Thanks for patiently supporting us throughout the years. We are proud of the action packed experience we’ve created and hope Samurai Warriors 4 meets your expectations and that you’ll have some sleepless nights ahead of you. I’ve already had the privilege in explaining the basics and some of the highlights of Samurai Warriors 4, so I’m sure most of you are aware of what to expect already. Thus, allow me to pass on a few pleas from my end in the hopes of making the game more enjoyable for you from the moment you begin your quest. Opening movie, please make sure to not skip it! I know everyone is eager to dive into the actual gameplay, but great effort has been put in to this by our development team, so take time to enjoy it and soak in the atmosphere which exists in the journey that awaits. As a result, players in the West will be able to select from all three of the PlayStation platforms at launch, giving them the ability to choose the version that best suits their needs whether it be environmental or the systems they own.     Flying Wild Hog and Devolver Digital’s reimagining of the cult classic Shadow Warrior is out tomorrow on PS4, and to celebrate we wanted to offer some tips for those new to the series. The most important thing to know: while Shadow Warrior is classified as a first-person shooter, shooting is the least fun and effective way for our hero Lo Wang to eliminate an invading demon force or an irritable gang of Yakuza. So holster your gun and whip out your katana, because it’s time to learn how to use your Wang properly. The katana is the first weapon given to Lo Wang and ultimately the most powerful one in the game when used correctly. You can’t act like you do in every other FPS, slumping along flinging bullets into the air. Keep moving and attack at the most opportune time with well-placed strikes and you can literally dismantle your opponent, slicing off limbs and heads. Never get intimidated. Never. When a demon has you cornered in some creepy ass hallway, just remain calm, take a deep breath, and cut him in half. Right in the gut. While demons are formidable creatures, there isn’t a single one that can survive being sliced in half — it’s science. At this point you’re asking yourself “That’s all well and good if it’s one demon in a hall, what am I supposed to do when surrounded?†Time to reach into your bag of ninja tricks and start using special moves to clear some room. There are a few to choose from as you build up your katana skills, but my personal favorite is the 360-degree spin. And finally, it’s important to know that you aren’t the only ninja on the block, so keep your wits about you. Demons, gangsters, and haters of all types are going to take a shot at Lo Wang, but if you keep that katana handy and your mind focused you’ll be strutting that Shadow Warrior swagger all over town soon enough.     I love space games. And for a long time, it’s been tough out there for people like me. Almost overnight though, it seems we’ve turned a corner. Elite: Dangerous is more awesome with every build, Star Citizen is breaking records, No Man’s Sky is gorgeous and surreal, and Enemy Starfighter looks amazing. I can’t wait to play all of them! Now Double Damage is throwing our hat in the, ring too, but with something very different. We wanted to build a swashbuckling space game, one filled with weird aliens, backwater bartenders, lawless pirates, and epic space battles. A game with a galaxy to explore, characters to befriend or enrage, and the random element that’s been in so many of the games we’ve worked on. Rebel Galaxy isn’t set in a shiny, modern future — it’s a greasy, rusty place on the edge of the known universe, where the ships are barely holding it together, and the people are, too. It’s a sandbox galaxy where you play the character you want. Are you a devious mercenary, collecting bounties? A crafty trader who hires protection wherever she goes? A pirate, preying on convoys? A roguish do-gooder? Maybe a little of each? You’ll fight, trade, negotiate, escape, explore, scavenge, mine, ingratiate, and intimidate. We’ve played lots of space-flight games, and they almost invariably involve chasing a reticle, sliding in behind another fighter and blowing them to bits, or making a hectic bombing run on a destroyer. With Rebel Galaxy we’re flipping that around — YOU fly the big, weapon-bristling ships here, with huge quantities of firepower, turrets, volleys of rockets, and massive broadside blasts. It’s closer to naval combat, if naval combat had lasers, space fighters, shields, and warp-drives and was about ten times faster. You can decimate a group of fighters in seconds, manning turrets or lining them up in your broadsides. You can also assign AIs to the stations on your ship, having them target or prioritize specific enemies. Do you want your particle turret to focus on picking off fighters, or instead to weaken the defenses of larger enemy craft? It can do that while you’re blowing the crud out of a neighboring destroyer. One of the big challenges of figuring out a new combat system is mapping it all to a controller. We weren’t content to have the old primary/secondary weapon setup — we wanted you to feel like you had a wide variety of weapons and options at your disposal. And we wanted you to be able to actively maneuver yourself to take advantages of the weaknesses in an opponent, or to dodge an incoming volley of torpedoes, or to weave between the derelicts of old ships. This took a ton of iteration — but the end result lets you steer your ship while rapidly switching between broadsides, or manning an individual turret which smartly locks onto targets. Getting the camera to help you out and to anticipate the targets that you want to be shooting was another big part of the equation — there’s a LOT going on, but we want it to feel natural. Context-sensitive actions were also important to cramming all the functionality we wanted into the controller. The cool thing about all this is that you really can become very skillful — it’s not just a numbers game. Anticipating another cruiser’s particle blast and dodging behind an asteroid, letting him burn it out on the surface, then emerging from the other side and unloading a flight of heatseekers and puncturing his hull is extremely satisfying! Erich and I have spent a lot of time working on action-RPGs. We worked together on Torchlight and Torchlight 2, and before that Erich co-created Diablo and Diablo II. The funny thing is, in many ways Rebel Galaxy has more actual role-playing in it. The things you say, and the choices you make, have an actual effect on how other people (or aliens… or robots…) interact with you. A faction system underpins our conversation system. You can hail a merchant and demand he drop his cargo, but the merchant’s faction will remember it. Maybe they’ll send bounty hunters to track you down. Assist the militia, and they might agree to lend a hand with a combat run you’re undertaking. If you beg, that pirate might only take half your cargo! We have a phonetic matching system, so the conversations are lipsynched, and the characters are expressive. This has been a lot of fun to do, and adds a lot of character to the game. Backing this up we’ve got a cool blues and rock soundtrack. It sounds weird, but trust us, it works. Hearing that slide guitar kick in while you warp through a nebula is pretty great. We’re excited to show everyone what we’ve been working on. This has been one of the most enjoyable experiences I’ve ever had building a game. Space games are back, there may even be a lot of them now, but we think we are bringing some genuinely new gameplay to the table. We’d love to hear what you have to say in the comments section.     It was back in March when we announced that Race the Sun would be coming to PlayStation, and we’ve been working hard on the game ever since. Today we are pumped to announce that the game is finally ready and will land on October 21st! We really wanted things to feel great on every platform, so we’ve spent a lot of time refining the experience on each system. The result is that we have the game running at a full 60fps (at 1080p resolution) on both PS3 and PS4, and PS Vita is also looking and feeling great. We have implemented cross-save and shared leaderboards on all supported platforms because we wanted to make the setup perfect for challenging friends to a highscore contest. If you aren’t familiar with Race the Sun, here are a few things your should know: Race the Sun is all about speed and survival You play as a solar-powered craft that slows down in the shadows You die when the sun goes down (or you crash) You can catch up to the sun (and delay your death) by grabbing speed boosts As you complete objectives you will unlock helpful powerups and attachments The leaderboards (along with the world) are regenerated every 24 hours The controls are simple, but the game can be very hard The game will be a cross-buy on PS3, PS4, PS Vita and PlayStation TV for $10 (US) On top of the core game, we’ve also added a new unlockable world that will be exclusive to PlayStation at release. The world is called “Labyrinthia†and it is a bit of a departure from the usual extreme speeds of Race the Sun. Here’s a video with some new gameplay footage: We wanted to add a different type of challenge to the game, so we slowed things down in Labyrinthia and used a higher camera view. The challenge comes in looking ahead and planning your route through a dense maze of obstacles. We’ve designed bunch of new traps that take concentration (and possibly trial and error) to figure out. One other thing to note: Unlike the main endless world of Race the Sun, Labyrinthia can be beat!     You may already know that PS4’s upcoming system software 2.00, codenamed Masamune, adds some big features including Share Play, YouTube support, and Themes – but the updates don’t end there. I have personally stated in past blog posts that we listen to our fans. PlayStation has heard gamers when they say they want more ways to find friends to play with, and more ways to personalize their PS4. With this update, we’ve added a Players You May Know tile, the ability to listen to your music while gaming, the option to change the look of your PS4 experience, and easier ways to sort and filter your library of content on PS4. PS4 has been on sale for almost a year and we’re committed to improving the player experience in entirely new ways. As always, we welcome feedback as part of our ongoing effort to make PS4 the best place to play. USB Music Player: PS4 owners can play their own music in the background while playing a game using USB Music Player*. After inserting a USB stick loaded with music into the PS4, a new option for USB Music Player will appear. Supported filename extensions include MP3, MP4, M4A, and 3GP. Change colors: In addition to the ability to add a theme, PS4 owners can also change the background of the home screen from light blue to one of seven new colors: gold, blue, red, green, purple, pink, and gray. Players You May Know: PS4 will now suggest players you may know in the ‘What’s New’ section, recommending gamers your friends frequently play with. Enhancements to Live Broadcasting: Masamune brings a variety of improvements to live broadcasting on PS4. In the Live From PlayStation app, PS4 owners can now select a Featured channel, which includes official broadcasts from PlayStation, broadcasts from people on a players friend list, and any game channel that the player has followed. Additionally, Live From PlayStation now has filters for searching broadcasts on a specific game, as well as support for archived broadcasts. Content Area and Library: PS4’s Content Area, which shows the latest games and apps a PS4 owner has used, has been redesigned to help make it easier to quickly find and access content. It now shows 15 of a player’s most used apps or games, and additional items will be added to a player’s Library. The Library on PS4 has improved filter and sort functions to help organize contented by type (game / app / TV & video), name (a – z or z – a), recently used, or install date. Enhanced Voice Commands: The ability to control PS4 using voice has been improved. Players can now say ‘PlayStation’ to begin commands, and ‘All Commands,’ to see a list of all voice command options available. New voice commands were added for live broadcasting, including “Start broadcast,†“End broadcast,†and “Find face.†Add To Library: The monthly free PlayStation Plus games will have an ‘Add to Library’ button in the PlayStation Store. This button will add a game to a PS4 owner’s library without downloading it – saving space on their hard drive. Back Up Data: Data on PS4 can be backed up and resorted using USB storage. This will back up all data for the console, including settings, save data, screenshots, video clips, download data, and more. PS Vita and PS TV – 3.35 update, Live From PlayStationThe PS Vita and PS TV systems will also receive a system software update to version 3.35 with the same timing as Masamune, adding four-player Remote Play support to PS TV. In addition, the Live from PlayStation app, which allows users to watch live gameplay streams from PS4 systems, will be available on both PS Vita and PS TV alongside this update. PlayStation App 2.0 updateThe PlayStation App for smartphones and tablets, available free on the App Store and Google Play, is also set to receive an update to version 2.0 within the same launch window as both the PS4 and PS Vita system software updates.     Hello friend and lovers of all things Aksys! It is your loyal and humble servant, Frank “Bo†deWindt II, Director of Production here at Aksys Games. Today I bring to you joyous and momentous news in regards to our upcoming fighting game on PS4 and PS3, Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN-. But first, let me explain a little bit about the game for those that have no prior knowledge of the Guilty Gear series! The series has been around since time immemorial (and by that, I mean for 16 years!). It’s been redesigned from the world of 2D, to incorporate both 2D and 3D elements, making it a veritable feast for the eyes kind of experience, thanks to some technical Arc System Works magic and the Unreal 3 engine. Thanks to that, 3D models have been fashioned to create the illusion of 2D sprites without anyone being the wiser. Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN- has also enhanced its fighting mechanics and has significantly expanded upon one of the series’ long standing mechanics, the Roman Cancel! Thanks to that, players will be able to have a myriad of vast fighting styles at their command. The character roster also has a lot of familiar faces, from the widely known Sol Badguy and Ky Kiske, two beacons of the Guilty Gear franchise, all the way to someone as cute and adorable as the Jellyfish pirate, May! Some of the newer characters include the unique and cunning, Bedman, who, like his namesake, is attached to and fights using nothing else but… A BED! And of course the monotone and lovely Ramlethal Valentine, whose swords, if used correctly, can really dish out some punishment on your opponent. Recently two more characters have been announced, Sin Kiske, who employs the power of lightning as well as a flag to battle his foes, and the lovely and pure Elphelt! But beware of her arsenal of guns! She’ll give a whole new meaning to the term, “Shotgun Weddingâ€. She will be a DLC character, just for the curious among you. This brings the current roster to a grand total of 16! Plenty of options to choose from to find the character the best suits you! Now that I’ve given a little bit of exposition on the game, I probably should keep the rest of my informational cards up my sleeve, but before I go, I need to tell everyone the big news! A release date for Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN- in the US has finally been decided! It will be… Tuesday, December 16, 2014! That’s like, so soon! (and only ~2 weeks after the Japanese release!) So now that everyone is informed, make sure to go out and pre-order it as soon as you can! Speaking of pre-orders, there will be both limited and standard editions of the game on both PS4 and PS3! The limited edition will contain a box to hold all the goodies, fashioned in the likeness of the “Backyardâ€, the Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN- Vocal Collection (just like the Japanese version!), the Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN- Character Book which will provide information on characters, terms, and concepts from the beginning of the series to the present, and finally, the Sol Badguy “FREE†belt buckle keychain!     New York Comic Con has come and gone and the POWERS trailer is out there now for the world to see. We can’t thank you enough for all of your support and kind words of encouragement. We’re having a blast working on this show and we hope you’ll enjoy watching it as much as we love sharing it with you. With that, here are some of the highlights from the day. If you’re looking for a quick recap of the exciting tidbits we threw out during the panel, jump below the video. The big news is that while the entire series is free for PlayStation Plus members, the first episode will be made available via channels like YouTube, Crackle and PlayStation Store, so you can see it whether or not you have a PlayStation or PlayStation Plus. But if you’ve seen the trailer you know that the show will have a lot of mature content, so keep that in mind when you watch. We also announced during the panel that I’ll be writing one of the final episodes of season one. In keeping true to the fans of the comics, co-creator Michael Avon Oeming’s art (along with other well-known comic book artists like David Mack, David Marquez and Mike Allred) will be visible in the show through various art in Retro Girl’s apartment — as well as drawings of an exciting new character. Another cool tease that came out of the panel is that episode 5 will show a flashback to Walker’s former life as “Diamond†before his powers were stolen from him.     Our journey is complete! Minecraft PS Vita Edition has landed on PlayStation Store in all its blocky glory. Once we heard the news, we went straight to one of our biggest internal Minecraft fans, Aram Jabbari from SCEA PR, to get an up-close-and-personal video tour.     The brand new SingStar will be released on PS4 and PS3 in less than two weeks’ time, and we’re very excited to get it in to all SingStar players’ hands! Not only have we given the game an awesome interface overhaul, there are also tons of cool new features that I want to tell you about in a bit more detail. No mic? No problem. The free SingStar Mic app can turn your smart device into a microphone. Simply download the app on your Android phone, iPhone, or iPod Touch , connect it to the same wifi network as your PS3 or PS4, and get going instantly. To get all your friends at the party involved and have a go at winning (or failing miserably!), we’ve added a playlist creator to the SingStar Mic app so they can line up an ongoing list of songs while the singers are entertaining the room. Pick any of the songs available on the PlayStation system you’re connected to and just cue them up. Basically, no more waiting on the indecisive people in the room to decide if they want to sing No Doubt’s Don’t Speak or John Lennon’s Imagine. Got a competitive streak and want to beat down your PSN friends? Once you’ve finished your performance, you can challenge your PSN friends to beat your high-score. When practicing for those weekend parties it’s a chance to challenge friends and hit them with your best scores. High scores refresh weekly to keep the competition fresh and the challenges coming. We’re expecting to see some awesome performance videos from PS4 players. If you have a PlayStation 4 camera, you can now use it to create all kinds of amazing effects in your videos and snapshots. Swap color filters during gameplay and transform yourself into your favorite music persona using new AR masks to add a bit of atmosphere with some funky lighting effects.     Deep Silver and Volition recently announced a stand-alone expansion to Saints Row IV called Saints Row: Gat Out of Hell. Today, we’re going to delve into a special set of over-the-top weapons this expansion has to offer! Along with nine new weapons from Satan’s arsenal and four weapons brought back from Saints Row IV, players will be able to seek out a unique set of Seven Deadly Weapons — each the embodiment of one of the Seven Deadly Sins: Envy, Pride, Greed, Lust, Sloth, Wrath, and Gluttony. It was a happy accident for us that the weapon inventory wheel in Saints Row games has seven slots so we decided to pair one sin per slot: Melee, Pistol, SMG, Shotgun, Rifle, Explosive, and Special. This means players may have all Seven Deadly Weapons in their load-out at a time! Collecting each weapon will not be easy, as each one has a unique and fun way of being obtained. Here is how it breaks down: Our melee slot weapon, Uriels Edge, is the Envy of Hell. This enormous fiery sword has a slash attack to cut down nearby targets and also can hurl devastating fireballs to destroy flying targets at range. It is rumored to be protected by the Arch-Dukes who rule over the five islands of the city of New Hades. Full of Pride, our pistol, Gallows Dodger, boasts of past and present murderous adventures when used. Shooting targets builds him into a frenzy, resulting in an explosive overkill mode. Getting revenge against a past enemy of the Saints can gain this weapon’s favor. Diamond Sting in the SMG weapon slot rapidly pelts targets with diamonds, causing them to drop additional Wages of Sin. This ability will help players max their upgrades in no time! This weapon can be owned by a master with a strong commitment to Greed. Boom Chicka is our shotgun weapon which shoots a spread of bullets laced with perfume designed to intoxicate enemies with Lust for their attacker. Upon being hit, targets will blindly frolic closer to the deadly spray of bullets! This weapon is treasured by a notorious ally. The epitome of Sloth, the rifle slot Armchair-A-Geddon allows the user to destroy targets from the comfort of a movable armchair. Equipped with dual mini-guns on the arm rests and the ability to launch anti-aircraft missiles upon recline — this weapon overwhelms targets. This weapon awaits a lazy master. The explosive weapon, Ark of the Covenant, sucks nearby target’s souls into the weapon and then unleashes them at range. Once fired, the Wrathful soul splits into multiple directions to attack additional nearby targets. This weapon must be taken from Satan’s top lieutenant of Hell — a worthy foe fans of the series will recognize. Last Supper from the special weapon slot can be used to spray tasty demonic frosting on a target, causing everyone nearby to Gluttonously ravage the target to death. For faster results, an explosive mode can send a glob of frosting to instantly coat multiple targets. This weapon can be found when trying to satisfy the need for munchies. We look forward to fans having as much fun using these weapons as we did coming up with them!
