You'd be surprised how many Geese are actually flying around at this time of year. The gulls stay towards the beaches and huge parking lots. Geese are all about parks and highways.

In case anyone wants details, the plane took off from LaGuardia airport and was heading to Charlotte. The plane was over the Bronx when it hit a flock of geese, which took out one of the engines. The plane made a U-turn in an attempt to make it back to the airport, but had to make an emergency crash landing in the Hudson River. There were about 150 people on the plane with no casualties. Divers have been in and out the river for a few hours. The biggest concern was not the crash itself, but the freezing temperatures where it was 20 degrees with a windchill of about 5 degrees. Hudson River has crazy winds, also, which made it even worse. Some witnesses reported seeing an engine explode over the Bronx (Fordham Road more specifically, which is about a 5 minute walk from where I am). The first reports were that there was a blown engine when it flew over the Bronx, but that was quickly changed to a flock of geese getting caught in the engine. More details are definitely on their way.

Already played it. It's absolutely amazing. Controls are stiff and the aiming is slow, but besides that, the game is as fun as you would expect. Less of a "you're alone" feel because of the co-op element in it, but Resident Evil nonetheless. Demo comes out Jan 26th on XBL

Everyone in our game just got disconnected and can't get back on. Just our room.. or everyone? We're getting "Network Initialization Failed" when we try to get back on

So far I have nothing to report from our room. We've been playing for a few hours and the only lag was because of an actual player in the room.. otherwise it's all good

Socom 4 WAS supposed to be released around the time Confrontation was released, but Zipper HAS been confirmed to be working on another Socom for the PS3. It had been announced from the start that two Socoms were being released for the PS3. Confrontation by /6 and another Socom by Zipper. It has been forever and a day since there have been any updates on the game or the progress of the game, however Zipper is making on. Sho Nuff. Bethesda does a beautiful job on their games. You guys couldn't have said it better myself. If the quality is anything close to Oblivion of Fallout 3, nothing to worry about. This should be interesting.

I still believe that the addition of trophies is something Socom could have definitely gone without for a long time. The most important thing about a game is it's actual playing quality once it's released. I don't know WHO in the Socom community sat there and complained to /6 every day saying "WE WANT TROPHIES, DAMNIT!" but whoever it was, they can go to hell. Socom was released way too early, which is pitiful when you think they had a few years and even had a delay under it's belt. /6, fix this damn game. We don't need trophies, we don't need challenges, we need our favorite shooter back with no problems.

Pie. Some were tricky but very obvious. I think only one stumped me, but it wasn't that hard. No walkthroughs either.

We were green for at LEAST 10-15 minutes. When the game did start, there was no one on the opposing team and we just ran around blowing things up.

I've tried and haven't gotten invites. I would wait and never got the message. Also getting terrible problems actually STARTING the games. The lobby will sit there, no one can talk, and no one will be in game.. us greening up and down waiting

I doubt it'll help that much when it comes to the peak hours and you have the bulk of the players getting online. It took me about 20-30 minutes to download it, same for a few members in U

I think you can when you go to your in-game options, but I'll check it out next game. There are a few good things like actually being able to TELL where people are, even if its not actually a COMPLETE listing of the room. I haven't tried out the party system or anything so I can't tell about that. When you kill someone, they make it more obvious by putting it across TWO lines: "Xx-CHURCHY-xX teamkilled FotherMuccer with 552" When you go to your clan manager, it no longer says everyone is online. It takes a while but it will show people actually "offline" on the manager now. The transparent stats works well. You hold down select and you'll be able to run. If you just press it, you won't be able to move

Mine loaded fine but the servers are fucking trash. This patch.. I don't know. 1) It says our room under our names on PSN, but what the fuck is the point if it's just going to cut off so we cant see the exact room? 2) Um.. stats.. reset? Everyone I've played with still has their stats.. pointless? 3) Servers are fucked, hopefully just for now.. but I haven't seen it this bad since release 4) D-pad lean is back, but you get blocked by objects so much that it just doesn't feel the same anymore. 5) With D-pad lean comes the loss of being able to alternate the shoulder view.. if you press left, you lean, no more switching shoulders Those are the things I'm complaining most about

Slant Six hasn't lied about any of their updates to this point (besides the whole downloadable content thing every month).. so I believe it. yay for Socom, deleting all of our stats for stupid fucking trophies! Woo, yeah I'm definitely gonna want to put ALL those stats on my name again.. *turns on xbox*
