I've grown up with video games in my life... I was still 100% active outside. During the summer I played baseball everyday, rode my bike up and down the hills, went to the pool... Then when I was 12, SOCOM came out and at the same time, my parents were getting divorced. SOCOM was the greatest escape ever. I could hop on for hours on end and my mind would be totally off all the shit that was going on. Once that was over, I started to play socom for friendships and the clans, instead of just the game. You may say that would be type of stuff that would spawn a second life, but aren't we all guilty of it here at UF? Me being myself, a pretty big introvert, I have never really been a social person. SOCOM taught me to be more social in the real world.... It's just something having to do with being self-conscious in the real world and then when you get on socom, you can be totally different. Over time, the way I was in SOCOM started to show in my life, I became more social. So, from my personal experiences from growing up in this era, I can say that things like HOME, WoW, etc. aren't going to cause problems. Also, HOME isn't really good enough to become someone's second life. Unless you would enjoy bowling (takes 10 min to master a strike every time), playing pool (Boring), watching trailers (Boring), decorating (Boring, unless you're gay) and trying to talk to the idiots on HOME (Retarded).

yup, everybody have a good St. Patty's day!

Neither does a simple game like Call of Duty 4, yet there are people who log into this game for 4-7 hours a DAY each day of the week. And this is just a one-title game. That's just the tip of the iceberg when considering a life-instilling concept like Home to a generation of jacked-in gamers and internet-philes. So are we discussing HOME or eLifes in general? If HOME isn't going to do it, then there will be plenty others. Think of all those W.o.W addicts, plus the thousands of other MMORPGs that have people addicted like they provide virtual nicotine.

I think I am getting closer and closer to be a rabid fan. My teacher had us write a report on a reality TV show and since I vehemently hate reality TV, I tried to convince my idiot teacher LOST was a reality show. It didn't quite work out... The best theory I have read so far was www.timelooptheory.com. It basically answers every major question in the show and runs perfectly with what has recently been happening to Desmond. Check it out, it will blow your mind! The writer seriously has LOST down pat. Either a genius or really lonely... lol.

I just can't see HOME becoming a "second life" for people. It doesn't have that much depth....

Well, I don't think "way too much thought" can be put into anything as long as you're not waxing on conspiracy theories. And this is not a conspiracy theory. This is just a discussion and I think it's a valid one. I'm not calling Sony or Home the devil. I'm simply speculating on where society is heading while we're handcuffed so closely to communication technology. Its just that HOME isn't that great. Gets old quick.

Wow... I think you're putting way too much thought into this. I'll post more when I'm not typing on the PS3.

I know it is illegal to put signs on private property, right? So, make sure it is your land or you have permission. If I were in your position, I would probably post an ad in the garage sale section of the newspaper, pass out flyers, and go house to house leaving those little bags of info on the doorknob. Good luck. -
That's freaking awesome! You need a music video now! lol... Good job to the creator!

I really enjoyed this movie! It was interesting, adventurous, and hilarious (at times). It is written and directed by Neil Marshall (The Descent). The movie reminded of lots of other movies, so if you like the movies I list off, you should go see it: 28 Days/Weeks Later Escape from New York/LA Resident Evil Mad Max Grindhouse (Planet Terror) Crank There are some parts that are kinda over-the-top, but you can just suspend your disbelief and enjoy it. I think he meant it to be like that. Also, they should show the The Incredible Hulk trailer at the beginning, it looks awesome! IMDB: http://imdb.com/title/tt0483607/ Trailer: http://www.apple.com/trailers/universal/doomsday/ Has anyone seen it? What did you think of it?
