Every discussion going on over at the RVN forum is saying that everyone was told that the game isn't getting sold until Wednesday. Gamestop in particular.

I checked Best Buy's website and it's listed as going on sale on the 15th.

I have it pre-ordered at a Gamestop and mine said they won't have it until Wednesday.

 

If there ARE people here who know these are going to be on shelves TUESDAY, then let me know and I will hunt the thing down. I'll just get a refund from Gamestop for the pre-order....and I'll do it before I go home so I can slap the Gamestop guy in the face with a copy of what he told me wouldn't be sold until the 15th. LOL

Every time a game comes out I see posts about guys who get it early and I've seen them when I log onto xbox or ps3 playing it. I don't know how or why, but it happens all the time. I think those of us on the east coast just get screwed on the deal.

Games are like albums.

When an artist says "yo, my album drops on the 14th, yo," it doesn't mean that you'll have to pick it up on the 15th. I used to work in a music store a long time ago. We'd get new releases 1-2 days EARLIER. You'd HAVE to just to set up the promotional work.

 

This is SUPPOSED to be on the shelves on the 14th, tomorrow.

It's RIDICULOUS that there's so much yes-no on who's stocking it and who won't be come tomorrow.

this is just what i know take it for what it is worth.

all games, books, DVDs, CDs are released on tuesday at 12am.

some publishers ship days before the release date.

some publishers use up every second they have and send it out on the release date before the carrier picks up at the end of the day.

I used to work at a radio station that did a promotion every monday night form 11pm till 1am. at midnight the store wold let you pick up your pre-ordered CDs and DVDs. like tow said some stuff they plan for days ahead of time. my sister-in-law runs a barns and noble. we went home for the last harry potter book so my wife could read tarot cards to the kids. the book store usually get sa huge pallet of books about 3 days before the midnight release.

i have been working real hard since january at getting a gaming store going in myrtle beach. (its real hard to get a bank to look at a business plan if you don't use capital letters .... jk).

i talked with my 2 best distributors on friday and today. they both told me the same thing.

the socom is not being shipped until the 14th.

however saints row 2 which also "ships" on the 14th they had friday morning.

it just depends on the publisher. here is a little graphic i put together. it shows a snapshot of a popular game stores website then a snapshot of one of my distributors websites.

the thing is that a no store is not supposed to let anything go before 12am tuesday morning. if they get caught they can be fined and or lose their retail license.

like i said im new at this and i certainly don't know everything.

i don't think that anyone has socom yet.
