I am typically a scaredy cat. I like to find a bush and hope that the rest of my team takes care of the competition. When I see an enemy coming near, I mic in his location so someone else can shoot him so that I don't miss. When I'm the last one alive on my team I usually give the controller to my cat. She's a button-masher but she gets lucky with a kill sometimes which is always more than what I can get. But even then I get us killed because through prox-chat the other team can hear me talking to her saying 'please do good, please do good, please do good.' -
Well, that's probably because Sniper and I opted for the whack forum system when building the UF site. The normal forum system would cost us an extra $2.99 a year.

For those looking forward to the upcoming UF: TACMAP tourney, Chain Reaction, do not worry. Sign-ups for Chain Reaction will go up mid-Feb. and the TACMAP will launch in early March, so you can still gear your clan up for it through a second month of UF: Black. There are also some rule changes to the UF: Black series and they are listed in the Official Rules of UF: Black, found in the UF: Black Info Section. All changes in the rules are highlighted in teal for you for easy reference. 4 Stabbed During Club's Party for "Notorious" NEW YORK – Police say four men were stabbed at a New York City nightclub advertising an after-party for the film premiere of "Notorious" about rapper Biggie Smalls. Police said Saturday a 21-year-old victim stabbed numerous times was in critical condition at Brookdale Hospital. Three others were stable. The Djumbala club is in the Canarsie section of Brooklyn. Police did not immediately release further information. While the party had been promoted as the "official" after-party, "Notorious" distributor, Fox Searchlight, said it was not related. Smalls was born Christopher Wallace and also used the stage name "Notorious B.I.G." His debut CD, 1994's "Ready to Die," helped re-energize East Coast rap. Before they were closing a "few" stores in hopes of consolidating and restructuring. Yesterday, Jan. 16th, Circuit City announced that they will be closing ALL stores in the US. I agree. I cannot reason buying special editions that give you tin boxes or dog tags or statues or pendants or a lock of Hellboy's hair or something. Sure, it's just an extra 30-40 bucks at times...but after the first few minutes of looking at the pretty newness, that shit just sits on a shelf under some socks or behind some books. Unless you set it all up around you every time you put the game in to 'enhance the ambiance.' LOL Just gimme a game that I'll play and I'll give you the money. Save the plastic on the included crap and make a few useful pens and wastebaskets out of it all. Unless you really are going to show that cool Grand Kombat Warcraft Planet collectible coin to the gorgeous woman you have coming over next weekend. -
To answer some running questions on this thread, due to the overwhelmingly positive response to this tourney, we certainly will be running another UF Horsemen tourney in the future. It will remain a 4v4 tourney (in keeping with the Horsemen mythos) but some of the match parameters WILL be tweaked. I believe many of you will be more than pleased. We're very happy and excited that the newly-introduced Horsemen concept was so well-received. We believed it was a good idea, but we didn't expect it to have the reception that it did...so thank you all and we're very happy you've enjoyed the tourney thus far.

It can be called censorship of free speech. It can be called following our forum guidelines. However you wish to view it, that's how it's going to happen. I'm sorry, but the majority on a msg board CANNOT have a 'discussion' about politics. Some here may be smart enough to keep such things as a discussion and not a continual undercutting of someone else's beliefs, but UF is smart enough to know that that's NOT how these types of threads go down. Censorship? Call it what you will. The complaint can be logged in at sites mentioned above like http://www.politico.com You can tell them how you're mad that a military gaming forum is making your anti-censoship bone really, really upset. There is no need for this thread or political topics to continue here....as per UF's standing request. We allowed it during election time for people to bark at each other sun up to sun down. Tonight, Chicago here is supposed to hit 30-40 below zero before Friday afternoon breaking the cold snap to about 10 degrees. And yeah, that's what we consider 'breaking the cold snap.' Walking to my car this morning, just a block away, I started to feel a headache creeping in. Doesn't take too long in this harsh weather.

Yeah, I cannot say RVN has had problems with the tag, online clan list or finding one another through invites now that the dust has cleared. I could not fathom a possibility that would cause this for you so I am of no help on this one.

So, Christmas has passed by a good few weeks now, giving everyone a fair amount of time to use the hell out of their coolest gifts, and almost forget about their easily forgettable one. So before you forget, list it here. What was the WORST OR MOST USELESS Christmas gift you received, and from whom, for Christmas '08? To start...it's a tie, both presents from my wonderful mother, who always means well but has never really grasped the concept of 'cool.' A shower curtain...the kind you buy at Kmart for about $4.99 A jogging pants/windbreaker set...upon inspection of the tags when I got home, the maker was 'Three Hearts Women' which, essentially, means my mom picked up a good deal on it and didn't notice it was made for women. She fucked up twice as she gave my brother-in-law the same set in a different color. LOL...We THOUGHT the colors on the pinstripe were a little....'cheerful.'

I agree with Nacku to an extent here. I log on to play with my clan mates and to see some friends from UF. That's not to say that I don't like this game, because I do. I just wish the overall experience was a lot smoother. Socom, for Sony, has some of the most loyal and rabid devotees out of any of their other titles, so it's perplexing to see so much allowed deterioration in the server area. UF is not without hiccups occasionally in its various tourneys, but we feel we're constantly getting better with each passing one. It's just a wonder that, after all these years and titles, that they cannot get Socom down smooth, preventing their fans from griping about the same issues with nearly every installment. That signals a common, recurring problem, not some new challenge that they've never experienced before.

Due to the mass server boot tonight at approx. 9:30, in the middle of all Black Jan. wars, the wars for Monday for Black January are now CANCELED. We're sorry for canceling the second war in a row now for Black January, but as you clearly know, the matter is entirely out of our hands. Invites are not able to be sent out at this time. Horsemen wars tonight will restart this week Wednesday. This week Wednesday's originally scheduled war will be played on Monday next week. Essentially, all Horsemen wars are pushed back a day. The Eval war will go as a wash. No victory for either the Eval Team or S+S. There will be a determination of the matter of "points" later tonight or tomorrow at the latest for the Black Wars. All Horsemen wars will restart from the beginning on Wednesday. Again, we apologize for this second jab of frustration and confusion on the part of the Socom servers.
