Re: ME - Well, there's a few things there, so I'll break it down. 1: I wasn't planning on answering the questions. This was a bullshit thread. I create them from time to time. It's funny how it gets legs, though. 2: You recall correctly. We created UF so players would have a cheat/glitch-free environment to play within. 3: Yes, you were told correctly. 4: You wanting to play at UF was never an issue. I never made it one. I don't want to look back at my original post, but bad memory says I never mentioned you, or anyone, not being able to play at UF. I don't know what this is about. 5: Problems can always be worked out. Absolutely. However, sometimes the time that's spent solving a problem doesn't counter-balance the reward issued after said problem is resolved. It's a business thing, not a game thing. Just had a meeting about that very same type of analysis process just today here. Here, we're giving up approx. $110K of yearly income going forward simply because the service offered to attain that $110K outweighs the reward. Time is money...time doesn't always equate TO money......unless you're Big Money.....like a Nacku. 6: Your very last sentence doesn't make sense to me. Maybe missing a letter here or some punctuation there, but it doesn't make sense to me. I'm sure it's just a missing letter that changes what you were trying to present. OH MY GOODNESS! I have watched the entire series (new) twice now...the second time simply because I sat 3 non-BSG lovers into it telling them they would love it, and one girl who doesn't even like sci-fi, but told her she would love the political/social parallel issues happening in that show. ALL of them finished the series with me 3 weeks ago....they're fans for life. It's worth it to watch. Hell, they're all on Instant Netflix, so stream the hell out of them.

So I need to know why the hell UF is so stagnant. I mean, we're just sitting here and it's like watching paint dry around here. I want my concerns addressed here immediately, and in the order of priority that I have them listed here: 1: Why is this forum still grey and orange? I thought change is always a good thing? We've been staring at gun metal grey and orange now for years. What, you guys can't come up with better ideas? 2: I think the smilies suck. Change them. Or else. 3: If Socom 4 sucks right now, and we all know it has its kinks (which I'm going to blame UF for...I will need a few days to collate my reasons as to why and how), why can't you create a tourney for other games? What, are you just one-trick ponies? The PS3 landscape is HUGE, and yet you pigeonhole yourselves into just Socom (which sucks) and CoD (which sucks the leftovers of what Socom sucks). With how much you have us jumping through hoops here, howabout doing a Portal 2 tourney then? We could promote teamwork with a Little Big Planet tourney! Howabout a MK vs DC tourney? Lol... I really don't care who made the sig. It wasn't harsh criticism, just constructive. Ease up. He touted it as being the biggest and the best. Just helping out on how it can be "the best." Don't know why it needs to be professional... however, perhaps some of that " professional PM" advice can be passed onto last for his " constructive criticism" regarding UF becoming a giant ad billboard. Oh, and just a tip for ya to put you in the right direction for the bigger and better horizon...(it's really been bugging me every time I see it, actually) The two front vertical edges of the box need to be PARALLEL. The vertical line in the forefront is aligned with the back vertical line of the back of the box....but that other vertical line in the background, that needs to be parallel to the other...otherwise, you have a warped package. So you got the bigger part down. The better part can happen with the correct adjustment for aesthetics.

LOL, yeah, I knew what you meant, Last. Pixel-wise, they are pretty much even with a few others here....those boxes though...LOL. It just seems like you guys have overcompensating issues with your "packages." This seems a little barbed though, don'tcha think? There are plenty of sites out there that do advertising. Plenty of professional ones, plenty of amateur hobbyist ones, and all of the sites in between. There's nothing wrong, as I see it as a player here, with UF doing what it needs to do to maintain a certain level of functionality and maintenance. Listen...back in the days when UF was run by its original creators, it was done so for love of the game, love of a tourney, and love for the community. It didn't do a whole lot of advertising, social marketing, charging for this or that...simply because it didn't NEED to. It wasn't looking to become a behemoth of anything. It grew organically, naturally...but could only grow to a certain point until its creators were just too tired and busy with other things to commit to UF. If there was money involved, it could have been called a "job." But there wasn't...it was just a hobby. It had a general direction in which it wanted to go, but in no way was there a multi-year road map constructed on the proper steps to make it a success on a BUSINESS level. What's written up there is NOT to say that what is currently going on here on UF is wrong. Quite the contrary. UF is now taking the steps it feels are necessary to ACHIEVE a certain goal its set for itself. I can only assume that. It's taking a new direction and, in order to navigate and success in that new direction, different steps need to be taken. UF is a business to some here now...and there's nothing wrong with that in the least. I mean, c'mon....are the ads here really THAT bad? Are they preventing anyone from posting something? Are they bashing anyone over the head through their monitors? Are there annoying pop-ups that just drive you away in insanity? I don't see any of that. Truth be told, I cannot tell you a single thing about the ads on UF because I just don't see/notice them. Really, can't answer a single question about them. To THAT point, you could say that the ad strategy on here sucks...lol...because they're not even getting noticed by me. But looking back on your comments... "But hey maybe if you can't afford something you shouldn't buy it ?" "So um.....When did UF become a walking billboard ?" Just seems like those are a little needlessly barbed. Sadly, that type of behavior has gone on for a long time and, really, nothing new to the web. Happened throughout the first 5 or so years of UF without missing a step...chances are, it will continue until UF rules the civilized half of the world. I think Kat Williams says it best...haters gon' hate....sometimes, with some people, they do so because that's all they know how to do. Just take it with a grain of salt and remember...those that spew nothing but poison on forums do so with the intention of getting a response.

It always seems like there's some new rumble n' tumble going on here lately whenever I pop in. This one certainly didn't disappoint. I guess for the sake of saving another dozen or so posts asking/responding so, the fact is yes, Sniper and Demo-Dick, who were in Red Cell back then, and I, who led A Perfect Circle back then, met during our time playing a Tacmap tournament called "SocomQuest." We've always been on record saying that we played that tournament, that the tournament wasn't well-run, that the tournament just had a horrible name LOL, and that we could build upon the idea (in crude terms...sure...."build upon the idea" = "steal it") and create what we thought would be something better. I do not believe, nor ever believed, that the idea of an online tacmap tourney was borne from UF. I honestly can't even say if it was borne from SocomQuest, though it very well may have. But again, just writing this so the question doesn't bat back and forth for another three pages. As for the "This is once again another huge step for Urgent Fury as well as the Creators, Tow and Sniper," I'm not exactly sure how this is a huge step for me or for Sniper, as we are not associated (as far as we know) with Urgent Fury outside of the fact that the both of us lead a clan called Ravenfall competing in Urgent Fury tournaments. I also don't know how this is a huge step for a tourney site either, but at the same time, I'm not very fluent in the trappings of legalese and perhaps there's a big boon for UF to go through this motion, so I cannot speak intelligently about the possibilities of moving towards this patent thing. It was an eyebrow-raising moment to see UF doing this, but it was a little more surprising to see our names attached in that initial post about it. I just don't know how this is a huge step, either by prestige or monetary, for either Sniper or I. But again, refer to my ignorance in the corporate laws of the land. Since stepping away from the podium of UF some time ago, I've seen some rather exciting things happen here and I've seen some rather unusual things happen here. To me, this slides to the side of the slightly unusual. Back in the day, UF concentrating on outdoing the competition, not so much eliminating the competition. However, regardless of whether a UF move is exciting or unusual nowadays, I and RVN are there to support this community and to do what we can, like any other clan here, to keep it thriving. Good luck with this, though. I'm sure it's all part of a bigger picture.

Yeah, Black Cloud pegged it right. The two vertical edges of the front of the "box" should be perfectly parallel to one another if the perspective is going to be realistic. Right now, the box just looks a little warped. High five for trying something new with a sig, though. And Black Cloud, I've been a fan of your sig template there for some time now. I think it's currently the best one out of all the clans here on the UF forum. Very nice. A little more elaborate than most...but somehow it doesn't overkill.
