(CNN) -- Chastity Bono, gay-rights activist and child of performer Cher and the late entertainer and politician Sonny Bono, is in the early stages of transitioning from a female to a male and will be known as Chaz, his spokesman said Thursday. "Chaz, after many years of consideration, has made the courageous decision to honor his true identity," Howard Bragman said in a written statement. "He is proud of his decision and grateful for the support and respect that has already been shown by his loved ones. It is Chaz's hope that his choice to transition will open the hearts and minds of the public regarding this issue, just as his 'coming out' did nearly 20 years ago." Someone's decision to transition does not necessarily mean they are undergoing gender reassignment surgery, and in many cases they do not, said Mara Keisling, executive director of the Washington-based National Center for Transgender Equality. "The whole media fixation on surgery is kind of misplaced," she said. "Almost no transgender people ever have surgery. We don't have any idea how many do." An estimated one-quarter to one-half percent of the American population is transsexual, however, Keisling said. "It's sort of a general term that encompasses both or either a social transition or a medical transition." Keisling said she was unaware of the specifics in Bono's case, but speaking generally, a transition means that he will now want to be "known, seen, viewed" as a male. "The actual details depend on his needs and wants and his doctor's needs and wants," she said. Bragman asked that the media "respect Chaz's privacy during this long process, as he will not be doing any interviews at this time." Now 40, Bono as a little girl made regular appearances on her parents' show, "The Sonny and Cher Comedy Hour." As an adult, he has been a longtime gay-rights advocate and been closely associated with the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation. Bono's father, Sonny Bono, was a U.S. representative from California when he was killed in a skiing accident in January 1998.

My Name is Earl is officially done. http://ausiellofiles.ew.com/2009/06/my-name-is-earl-canceled.html?cnn=yes Talk about lousy karma. Despite reports that TBS was on the verge of rescuing My Name is Earl from NBC's scrap heap, a spokesperson for Twentieth Century Fox Television confirms that the Emmy-winning comedy is officially dead. In a statement, the studio rep said, "While we had hoped to find a way to produce additional episodes for TBS, in the final analysis we simply could not make the economics work without seriously undermining the artistic integrity of the series. As none of us, [series creator] Greg [Garcia] included, want the show to go out on anything but a high note, we regret that we must put to rest any speculation that Earl will continue. We are grateful to everyone at TBS for their enthusiasm for the series and wish to offer our heartfelt thanks to the cast and crew of My Name is Earl for their incredible work."

I'm renting it tomorrow when it drops at blockbuster (along with Tiger '10). I'll get a review up. Looking for a good single player though I'd recommend iNFamous or Red Faction: Guerrilla.

MLB 09 The Show Tourney (Single Elimination)

Reborn whenever you're ready we can play our match. I'm good pretty much whenever. -
I've been saying it too about Cain. He's had the stuff, but never got the run support. He finally is getting the support and trying not to strike everybody out, thus he is lasting longer in games. He's a legit contender for the Cy if he keeps up this pace at 7-1 with a 2.27 ERA.

All I will say is I don't normally drink energy drinks except if I pull a late night and have to be up to hunt in the AM, but that may change in the near future. I did a focus group to test Red Bull Energy Shot last fall. All I can say is it will be the leading energy drink/energy shot on the market without a DOUBT. I was thoroughly impressed and I've tried most all energy drinks.

Chaka you have to be signed into the playstation website under the account that is GAP certified. I had this problem trying to sign in as backlash, but when I signed in as smokeosama it worked. Once you get the code you can download it to whichever username you like. -

WOW. Look at the new trailer: http://blog.us.playstation.com/ -
Been waiting for this for a LONNNNNNG time.
-
I rented it, but have yet to have a chance to sit and play.
-
I just got mine, but after reading the Playstation forums, not all G.A.P. members will get an invite. The first wave was sent today, not sure if there will be any more invites. They only allow the code to be used once, which prevents you from sharing with friends. I can't wait, it's supposed to be out sometime tonight!

Without a doubt the Bears LB core is now definitely top 3, with potential to be tops in the league. I wouldn't put them ahead of the Steelers yet until the trio performs on the field, but Briggs/Urlacher/Pisa is straight NASTY.

LAKE FOREST, Ill. -- Free agent linebacker Pisa Tinoisamoa agreed Friday to a one-year contract with the Chicago Bears after leading the St. Louis Rams in tackles four of the past six seasons. NFC North The Bears also locked up defensive tackle Israel Idonije with a two-year extension through 2011 and agreed to contracts with seven of their nine draft picks. The 6-foot-1, 240-pound Tinoisamoa led the Rams with 135 tackles (88 solo) before getting released by a new coaching staff seeking more size. In Chicago, he's reuniting with coach Lovie Smith, his defensive coordinator during the 2003 season in St. Louis. Tinoisamoa will probably start at strongside linebacker alongside Lance Briggs and Brian Urlacher, although incumbent Nick Roach and former starter Hunter Hillenmeyer are in the mix. A second-round pick by the Rams in 2003, he has 661 total tackles, 10 sacks, seven interceptions, 25 pass break-ups, six forced fumbles and three fumble recoveries in his career. Besides reeling in Tinoisamoa, the Bears committed to an important part of their defense in Idonije, who posted career highs with 28 tackles and 3½ sacks last season. They also agreed to terms with all but two of their draft picks: cornerback D.J. Moore, wide receivers Johnny Knox and Derek Kinder, linebacker Marcus Freeman, safety Al Afalava, tight end Lance Louis and defensive end Henry Melton. Still unsigned are defensive tackle Jarron Gilbert and wide receiver Juaquin Iglesias.

Dogs or Chopper which do you hate the most?
o-BacklasH-o replied to Outlaw__Rebel's topic in Playstation
I play plenty of other games, as does a majority of the community, including CoD W@W. I've just never played it online, because I have zero desire to play an online shooter that's set in WWII. From my experience on the single player, in which I encountered dogs, I surmised that we were in fact referring to CoD. -

I assume this is something to do with World at War? -
It doesn't matter though because you'll still find a way to teamkill people in wars. ;D
