  1. I got mine earlier, but just arrived home a short while ago. My download keeps failing on the 2 gig update. > Anyhow, Covert I'll hit you guys up tomorrow, as I intend on playing all day.
  2. LOL Get Shorty.
  3. So we've all had, at the very least, the entire weekend to evaluate and play the hell out of the new Madden. What's everyone's thoughts? I returned last years copy the first Monday after it was out, but I will be keeping and playing this years edition religiously like every one prior to 2009. I really enjoy the game play and the heightened difficulty moving the ball on offense, particularly rushing the ball. I'm 5-3 online I believe and haven't experienced a shred of lag or mic issues, which was a big concern given Tiger 10's mic troubles. My ONLY complaint this year is, by far, the accelerated clock/constant chain measurements. In a game earlier today, there was a minimum of 25 measurements. The accelerated clock isn't a horrible addition, but it really hurts when you are trying to conserve clock. You're pretty much better off going no huddle, when normally you wouldn't be inclined to go no huddle. The games do go a LOT faster on the flip side of that and if you are trying to milk the clock, this speeds up the process. Overall I give it an 8.5/10
  4. Yeah that mask is bad ass Amazon's got a nice one for sale. http://www.amazon.com/Coolmax-Balaclava-Extreme-FULL-Skull/dp/B0028VTIUM/ref=sr_1_15?ie=UTF8&s=sporting-goods&qid=1250444837&sr=8-15 Bleh, not even close lol.
  5. Yeah, I don't know about them not including the Barrett...Anybody see the FAMAS in there? You will be able to tell who played SOCOM that's on MW2 by the people that complain about it LOL. I personally don't use the thing, haven't since probably the first month I played Confrontation, but it will be interesting to see it in action on MW2. There's some really good additions on that list, especially the SPAS-12 for close quarters maps. I am really pumped for this and the MAG beta!
  6. Gibb's smack for the hater in the house! Yeah, I hate to admit that would be pretty damn funny. Sorry, it would be. It would be up to par with some of their other updates. I'd probably laugh too, then privately go on a swear laced rampage and sob in the corner after breaking several household objects.
  7. Bears - Pats. I think the Pats offense is going to be just as good if not better than 2008's. Although the Steel Curtain is scary good, I think the Pats will take them down in the AFC Championship. Now on to DA BEARS! I'll start with this statement, a healthy Tommie Harris leads to the defense performing like it did during the 2006 season. Our weakness was against the pass and particularly in our secondary last season. Tommie Harris makes or breaks our pass rush and if he can stay healthy he makes the job MUCH easier on our secondary. With a LB corps of Tinoisamoa, Urlacher, and Briggs there are very few teams that match our linebackers. The secondary will be fine provided Tillman remains the playmaker he's always been after offseason surgery and Nate Vasher can play healthy football at a Pro Bowl level like he is capable of. Daniel Manning moving to the Nickel spot on passing downs, brings in Steltz at Free safety in those situations and makes our secondary much better imo. The offense is going to produce a LOT of points and if the D can regain it's form this team is SCARY. Our special teams is one of the best in the NFL with Daniel Manning returning Kicks and Hester punts. The offense though will be WAY more dimensional with Cutler in the fold. Hester, already developing into a great receiver, will thrive with Cutler. In 10 pass attempts in tonight's pre-season game he targeted Hester 6 times. Granted Olsen didn't play today, Hester will be Jay's go to man. Look for Hester to put up his first 1,000 yard campaign. Olson will improve on his breakout season last year and we also have a very good 2nd tight end in Des Clark. Earl Bennett and the rookie tandem of Iglesias and Knox have a lot of potential, but the biggest contributor of those 3 receivers will be by far Bennett. He and Cutler have a previous rapport from their playing days at Vandy, and Bennett should burst onto the scene after an uneventful rookie season last year. The balance of this offense should be great with Forte running the ball down the throats of opposing defenses and the passing attack much improved. I, like Prane, may be stretching a bit at a Superbowl appearance this year, but the potential of this unit cannot be ignored. Playoffs look like a lock and I foresee 10-12 wins for the 2009 Bears.
  8. Can you change my name from smokeosama to BacklasH and add my clan tag please.
  9. Ditto, let's go Money you're holding up the thread!
  10. Yeah, from what I have read it is nothing like MLB.tv (which I have and airs the games live in HD quality). I have been contemplating biting the bullet and ordering DTV for home. I have it at my Cabin in Wisconsin, so I use it almost every Sunday from late September-late November while I am up there hunting (It's not my receiver, but I split the cost with a few of my hunting pals).
  11. lol, screw the Sux!
  12. I pulled an all nighter last night (Thursday) and through until about 10 AM this morning and finally got my platinum trophy for SOCRAP. It is a pretty fulfilling feeling, but was really long and tedious. Everything can pretty much be accomplished over time as they are career trophies, except for the "skill" portions which require you to do a specific task in one map only. Those being 15 consecutive kills without taking damage and 15 consecutive without dying (requirements for two separate trophies), 15 kills in a match with 75% hit percentage, and a few others. I finally got 15 consecutive kills without taking damage, which was the biggest pain in the ass ever. The rest were just ridiculously long work. For about the last two weeks myself, a few RVN's, and a few cBF guys have been playing into the wee hours of the night in quick matches to get the extract/escort portions of the trophies. Just to give you an idea it took nearly 2 weeks to get 25 rounds won by VIP extraction, but it would have taken much much longer without quick match only because the 1st map in a quick match is always either Demo, Escort, or Extract. Anyhow, just posting it up because I remember our original discussion here about how insanely tough the trophies are when they came out. I truly cannot see how the S6 team accomplished these tasks in a week's time (according to them), a lot of these trophies are just overkill. The final task I had to complete was hostage extracts, which gave me the Legion of Merit and then the Platinum immediately after. They both look pretty cool if nothing else:
  13. US Central Midnight Mass
  14. As soon as it goes up I will post the server here.
  15. The Midnight Mass will be up in about an hour if you'd like to stop by.
  16. I'll be interested to see his rating for everything. I don't really know how they can accurately give him statistics without even seeing him in some preseason action. I remember when anyone used the Falcons online, they were automatically called a noob because it was assumed they'd only scramble with Vick.
  17. I picked RAVEN of coarse . Anyhow, I'm not sure how they did it. I think most GAP members got it that set their preferences for shooters. I got the invite on "smokeosama" which is hooked to my GAP account, I've been forgetting to call to see if they can transfer my GAP account to o-BacklasH-o since I don't use smoke at all anymore.
  18. Nope, it is BB's (Xanthe for those who don't know him as BB) floor. Whoever correctly guesses the movie quote then posts up a quote of their own is how this works.
  19. Hey I thought it was supposed to be my turn lol. I'm calling the forum police: :police: Sorry just had to find an innovative way to use the new smiley. Here is mine: "There's enough bang in there to blow us all to Jesus. If I'm gonna die, I want to die comfortable."
  20. Wow Chili is running away in the Gibb's smack race. Red and Neo are fading fast.
  21. Hell I paid the $1.50 for the max stats suit for Tiger 10 (for online purposes). I eventually had enough money from single player to buy it, but wanted to play online right away with my Kenny Powers character lol.
  22. Wish I could lol. I have had such a craving to play some S2, but without a PS2 and having a PS3 that's not backwards compatible I simply cannot. 3.0 firmware needs to come soon!
  23. WOW that video deserves another Gibb's Smack!
  24. That's definitely Slant Six's and SCEA's angle with releasing the DLC for free. I was trying to figure it all out, because S6 currently has no income coming in. It all comes together now though, with the release of a greatest hit title there will be a mass influx of new players (or so they hope, just like in every previous socom). They will woo them into buying it by announcing the DLC and Patch 1.5 and get their "last hurrah" of a profit before they completely close the book on Confrontation. I have always maintained though, that if they fixed the things that the community misses from past socoms this game COULD be something great (EG Tiebreakers, page 17, etc). I would assume that all depends on how the releases of 1.5/1.6 and consequent sales goes. As it stands now, I don't foresee them releasing anything past the first DLC pack, but I have been wrong before.
