I just recently made a UK PSN account in the hopes that the demo will be available today on the store. I'm at work until 6pm, and cannot verify this. I was wondering if anybody here at UF has a European account and can see if the demo is there. If so, how is it?

Thanks everyone, but before this thread gets highjacked to HDMI cables...I do not have a TV that will support an HDMI cable. I bought the TV about a year before HDMI was standard on TV's. inadub, 720p is a step below 1080i? I always thought is was as follows: 1080i = good, 720p = better, and 1080p = best. Also, I have a 55in Mitsubishi TV. So it probably should switch automatically?? And, does the PS3 have a setting to recognize all three??? Cause I know its currently set to 1080i.

OK, thanks. So with my TV being 1080i, can I change the PS3's settings to make sure I get 1080i, 720p, and 1080p? Cause your right, I currently have it set to 1080i. Or do I have to change it when I load a game that only supports 720p?? (if that is even possible on the PS3) Also, I don't have a TV that supports an HDMI cable. I am using the component cables, if that makes a difference in this discussion. Is this possible in my situation without the HDMI?

What is the difference?! I recently bought LBP and its only available in 720p, so it doesn't come in HD on my TV. I have a HD TV that only supports 1080i. I have never had an issue because most games support all of the HD outputs. So, if/when I ever get another HD TV should I buy a 1080p or 720p. I mean, if I have a 720p will that not support 1080p. And vice versa. Or does 1080p pretty much cover everything??

More evidence this game was and is, nowhere complete: Europe SOCOM release delayed again?! Written by AJ Wednesday, 28 January 2009 16:21 well - we reported awhile back that the SOCOM Europe release was delayed from the original date, but reports are coming in that SOCOM: Confrontation will again be delayed until March for our friends in Europe. Of course our friends across the pond are already mad since the North American players having been playing the game since September. To make matters even worse, the SOCOM release could be a flop with the European gamers getting Killzone 2 instead from all their frustration. The new release date...March 27th...oh boy. SOCOMfans.com

considering the car wouldn't pass inspection, id say thats not much better than the engine reference lol. Its an analogy, and it is the same thing. If there was an inspection for games, this one would not have been allowed to be released. But there isn't and they released a product that wasn't complete and took our money without batting an eye. Again, this isn't a matter of a few "bugs" or lag, its a matter that they deceived North America. I say North America, because it still has not dropped in Europe yet, again because its not done. Don't get me wrong, I love the game and I have fun playing it...when its working. But I don't like being fucked over. If they released a press release offering everyone the full price of the game if they returned it, I would be happy. Not because I would get my money back, because I wouldn't return it, but because it would show they admit guilt. If you don't call people on deceptive practices, they will continue to do it unpunished. There is a reason why we have laws and organizations like the Better Business Bureau. Which is also where most of the complaints should start going, because I believe Sony was involved in this just as much as Slant 6. Its our right, hell our duty, as consumers to continue to complain and bitch and moan and tell them what a bunch of fuckers they really are. So I encourage everyone to continue to post on the Playstation forums and complain, complain, and complain. They need to be held accountable for their actions.

OK, maybe not an engine missing. But definitely like getting a car with the doors gone and they tell you they are coming. What if Slant 6 would have posted is this, Due to a high demand for the release of this game, we will release the game in its current state, not completely finished. The game will be playable, but there will be some issues with a lot of the promised game play. We will try to complete SOCOM with patches as they become available. Thank you for your patience If they posted this on SOCOM.com, everyone would have told them to wait until its done. Or people would have definitely waited for the reviews before plunking down 60 bones.

They need to be bashed on regular basis on every SOCOM forum. Its corporate greed run a muck. If you don't stand up and complain, they will continue to shove it up your ass. As Stanley Spadowski once said, "These floors are dirty as hell, and I ain't gonna take it anymore!!"

Yea, it is clear they released a game that wasn't nearly finished. Hell, the manual proves it. From what I've been seeing on the PS forums is that they seem to think it was SCEA pushing the games release in America and not Slant 6. Which after reading why, I believe it. They needed a flagship game to get that friggin' headset out, so they pushed out SOCOM waaaay before it should have. Don't forget, it still has not dropped in Europe. I think it still has a February release date. Now I'm not defending Slant 6 at all, they padded their pockets and kept quiet, and now we all have to suffer. Its just sad to see a huge corporation screw the customer to make a profit on a Sony bluetooth headset. But if they don't get their heads out of their ass, another game will be released before they get their shit together and replace SOCOM. Maybe Killzone 2, but who knows. We might have to wait for MAG to drop. Its a big shit sandwich and we all have to take a bite.

So basically they are taking off the friggin' tax...BFD! Doesn't surprise me though. They sell the exact same products as every other electronics store. I'm sure they are selling most of the inventory to them at a bulk discounted price.

I have a gaming/living/playroom/rec room. lol I would love to have a room completely dedicated to gaming. Put in soundproof insulation in the walls, 7.1, 50in on the wall. One of those cool leather gaming chairs, a little fridge, etc.....dare to dream. Maybe my next house.

Yea, from what I seen, you gotta have a lot of nerve to do that job. Plus, its like 20-30 degrees down here in Chicago. So it had to be freezing up there on the side of building 30 floors up.

I was walking outside today and seen about a dozen guys scaling down the side of building cleaning the windows. They weren't on a scaffolding or anything like that, they were sitting in seats just big enough to sit on. Probably using some sort of mountain climbing gear. They had a 5 gallon bucket hanging down along with some tools. This was downtown Chicago BTW. I was watching these guys and thinking, "Damn, that looks like a dangerous job!" Then I thought, how much money they make. Anyone here do this job or know someone who does? And if so, do you know how much they make?? Usually the more dangerous the job, the more money. So I assume these guys were making some fat cash. I'm just curious...or depending on the do re mi...looking for a new job. lol
