there's a huge difference between saying "oh sweet the game is fixed! thanks a lot!" and saying "hey the lag is tolerable now, thanks." try not to dwell on the past so much. nobody is denying the fact that /6 screwed up royally. but a little pat on the back tellin em good job on getting this shit in the right direction would probably help them be a bit more enthusiastic about getting more patches out. $$$$$$$$ This is what helps any company be a bit more enthusiastic about getting a fully functioning product to its customer base. If the product doesn't function the company makes no money. There are several business owners in this community who can attest to this basic economical truth. And I will, as many others will, continue to dwell on it until I feel as though I got what I paid for. We're not talking about a game that didn't live up to its hype here. We're talking about a game that isn't complete enough to get a chance to live up to the hype. We're talking about a patch in a line of patches for an incomplete game that's been out 5 months. A patch that seemingly fixed some issues but left numerous others, others that should not exist in a released game, to be dealt with at a later date. A date still unknown to us and I would imagine to them as well. I don't care who made it. If someone else made my PS3 and I was unable to use 100% of its functions I'd be speaking out about that and I would think everyone else would be too. I sure as hell wouldn't be sitting around talking about patting them on the back because I could finally stream video or watch a Blu-Ray movie instead of only being able to play Socom. I don't know about everyone else, but I'm using fact to support my statements about Slant 6, Confrontation, and the seemingly slow resolve to the issues by Sony. And Slant 6 is doing just fine in bringing themselves down they don't need any help. -

Actually owning a game that includes 100% of what was advertised would mean a lot to us right now too. They'll get my positive feedback when I get my complete game. On a positive note (SHHH dont tell them) I did also notice less lag. I did however get the FULL BOOT twice and kept spawning in odd places. As did the other team. So several times we would randomly have an enemy spawning within grenade distance of us. -

In this line of work, if you take things people say to heart you wont last long. You learn how to handle it. General statements, like stereotypes, are bad all the way around. And I'm just as guilty as the next person. Everyday though, I work towards understanding them and finding away to break them down, for my own personal well being. And by the way, the first thing I was told, even before being told to always make sure I'm the one going home, is to NEVER EVER EVER go near a donut shop while in uniform, because of the stereotype. Thank you Prane for the acknowledgment. Its greatly appreciated.

I'll be the first to admit there are a bunch of douche bags that don't deserve the badge and gun. I've worked with plenty. But to make a blanket statement offends me to no end. Let me state, I have no problem with anybody complaining about a situation that they personally had with the police. But comment on those cops you feel did not do you justice. I'll never defend any police involved situation that I was not involved with myself. But remember that there are many police officers out there that will run into danger without blinking an eye to save a perfect stranger. Remember what happened last time we had this discussion Irish? Everybody hates a cop until they need a cop. Then oh how their attitudes change. Ohh yea, I remember. Look what happened to that douche bag that started that discussion. I can't speak for Chicago, though they have helped me out plenty of times. But I have never "took my time" because of the income of an area. And I worked with houses ranging from $700k to $80k in the same town. No one does. And anyone that says different doesn't fully understand what "priority" means. "Calls for service", dictate the response time and the number of officers who respond. If a call came in that said two guys were beating the hell out of each other in the middle of the street, that would generate a faster response time and greater number of officers (depending on department policy) than say a call for a guy who appears to be selling dope on the corner in a high drug neighborhood. The sad thing is, that you can say this all day, and when it comes to your life, or the life of a loved one, a "PUSSY ASS COP" will help you without hesitation. HMM? So you figured that by asking for increased patrol you would receive a free pass from breaking the law yourself? I'd be pissed too. Only I'd be pissed at myself for actually thinking that was the way things worked.

The last two nights that I've played in a pub room I've had the jerk with his radio playing full blast in the background standing right behind me. After several attempts (one to be honest) of asking them to turn it off, I thought about shooting them myself. Then I figured I'd use them for bait.

So this is my first time using Vista. I wouldn't think it things would be to much different than XP. And I would think that in making things easier for the user it wouldn't make things harder. But, I was wrong for thinking. Remember when I said I couldnt find the downloads. I had no clue where it was sending them. So thanks to your post I looked a little harder (really little) and found all 35 of them. In a folder saved inside another folder called downloads. What a creative name huh? I shut all my tabs down and installed the Flash Player. Everything works. With computers its always the smallest thing and for me thats usually my patience with them. Thanks for the advice fellas. And thanks Inadub. Next time I'll try to increase my patience a bit and see if that helps. This is why I do what I do and not work on computers.

Thats exactly it. It will, about half the time, give me a status bar in my download box showing its searching for viruses then nothing. And I read on Firefox that I would need to go and click on the actual files, but I cant find them anywhere. Its like its not loading them. Or if it is its hiding them from me because I cant find them.

I just bought a new TV and my old one did not support HDMI either. While component cables are better than RCA's, HDMI, IMO, is better than component cables. I use a 60 mhz HDMI on my satellite receiver and a 120 mhz HDMI on my PS3. I swapped them back and forth when I first got them and I can see s light difference between the two when playing games and watching Blu-Rays. But they are both, again IMO, much better than component cables.

Yeah i just saw the download button for IE8 on the Java site. Which I was at because while trying to watch videos in the "Socom is Dead" thread I was told I needed the latest Java or Adobe Flash Player to watch you tube videos. But, as I've learned with Socom, newer does not equal better. It has to be something in Mozilla/Firefox. If I use IE7 everything works fine. And I know, "why not just use IE7 then?" Well, because IE pisses me off.....A LOT!!! Mozilla works better, IMO. I've gone through my Norton settings, my IE7 settings, and Mozilla settings and have found nothing to solve the issue. I've been searching the internet for hours now looking for a solution but all I've found so far is a bunch of other people who are having the same problem and no solution for them either.

I bought a new computer with Vista and have been using IE7 for the past few weeks. Yesterday IE7 kept freezing up on me so today I downloaded Firefox. Everything went fine except I cant get Adobe Flash Player to download with Firefox. It works just fine with IE7 though. My old computer has Firefox and Adobe Flash Player and I've never had any problems with it. And since it works fine with IE7 on my new computer I have to assume that its Firefox. I've been through all my settings several times and I've downloaded Adobe Flash several times and cant figure out whats wrong. Does anyone here know of a solution for this problem? Is there a workaround out there thats not listed on Firefox or Adobe? Am I missing a setting? Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Rumor: New Downloadable Content for SOCOM: Confrontation

I for one really hope this "rumor" is false. What does it say about your company when you're spending time developing new items to release for a game you havent completed yet? 100% of their time should be dedicated to finishing Confrontation. Surely Slant Six is smart enough to complete Confrontation, and its large number of issues, before moving on to DLC. -

Yeah, cant believe I never heard about this game until today...... If I remember correctly I read a few months ago that this game had been scrapped. IGN now shows a release date of March 2009 so not real sure what happened there.
