  1. Yeah I'm not a fan of the mic system either. I guess I could get use to it if need be but it's one of those, "if it's not broke don't fix it," things.
  2. I played the Classic mode on uplink for an hour so today. Not bad. I think I'll still wait to read the reviews after the game comes out before buying it.
  3. Is it going to be $60 updates right out of the gate good?
  4. I'll jump on now and try out Classic then. Thanks guys.
  5. I played respawn. Is Classic better? If so I'll give that a try tomorrow. Friggin spawn campers, grenades either going way to far or dropping at my feet, and a lousy camera view. And XP points???? Really? I had the same complaint until someone told me about adjusting the settings. Once I did that it got a little better.
  6. I played the beta for the first time. I played 2 game types and 2 maps for about 90 minutes. If this is what we can expect for Socom 4 then, speaking as someone who's been playing Socom since Socom 2, the Socom title is dead. If that's their attempt to resurrect the title it is an epic fail.
  7. You obviously have an issue with what happened with the UF Staff and UF Directors. So you know though, the UF Rangers were not involved in that situation. Theres no need for you, or anyone else in this community, to step on others just so you feel better about what happened. And while I may not agree with what happened I know there are ways to handle it without making ignorant ass comments like that.
  8. IMO its the socializing that's keeping you awake. You ever been out with your wife or the guys and found it hard to stay awake? More than likely not. It's not just the game it's the hanging with the guys. You know how it is when you're working on less than adequate sleep and engaged in what's going on. You're wide awake and going strong but the minute you sit down in the car you're fighting it. Playing games ONLINE is engaging. The minute it stops being so you crash.
  9. Well I dont know about Cali but Florida is rocking right now. Last month we were the only state to not have snow and for the past week and a half I've had the windows and sliders open (thinking about going for a swim today) enjoying the mid to high 70's while most everyone else I know is stuck inside because of too much snow and cold. Get her complaining about the cold and snow and then get her to hate the cold and snow. She'll go then.
  10. You and Irish move somewhere warmer so you dont have to worry about snow. Just sand.
  11. You might be spending to much time gaming. It may be time for a vacation.
  12. How much is it and what does it offer? I just got an email from Netflixx telling that once again my monthly fee is going up. Now it's $23 and some change per month because they've added so many new TV shows to its instant views categories. I saw Blockbuster is now advertising that they no longer have the 28 day waiting period on new releases.
  13. God Bless the United States of America!!! If you ever get the opportunity to travel to Hawaii, make it a point to visit Pearl Harbor. You will NEVER forget the experience. I pray they create a memorial to 9/11 that gives all who visit the same experience. On a side note - I noticed that the movie Pearl Harbor isnt being shown on 12/7 each year like it used to be. Anyone know why? Is there a specific reason?
  14. Well said Puddy. Many of the games today FAIL in comparison to what we grew up playing. I think the problem is that todays gamers are born into the lagging, glitching, patching gaming world. Its all they know. Graphics are great but game play is where its at. They dont have any problem paying $60 for a game that's not complete. Back in the day if there was something the developers wanted to change they made #2. Now they can push the changes over the internet. Which gives them the ability to also push out a title and finish it while its in our house. We should start charging them rent for using our houses to finish their work. I grew up playing Pong, Pitfall, Frogger, etc. My first ever, I bought myself, gaming system was the Nintendo. I bought the package that came with Duck Hunt/Kung Fu, two controllers (now its 1 and you have to pay $60 for the 2nd), and the Duck Hunt gun. I played Kung Fu so much my thumbs were swollen. It was all about beating the games and bragging what level you were at home and going over to friends houses to see if they really were at the level they said. I even bought the Nintendo Glove for Mike Tysons Punch Out. Epic games. I actually have a 20 year anniversary Atari PS2 disc for playing Pole Position, Joust, a few others, and Galaga. Luckily I have the 1st gen PS3 so I can still play it anytime I want. Looking back, I think growing up the way we did with the games we did, we learned to love the time hanging with friends in a light hearted, ribbing about game skills, true fun environment. So much so that we find ourselves searching for other like minded people. That's what led us to UF right? Today's gamers are people who wear taped up glasses, pocket protectors, and get bullied by day but are E-Gangsters by night. It took me until my oldest was almost 13 before I would let him play COD. And then he got it for his Wii and was not allowed to play online. Now he wants Black Ops and a PS3. If I decide to get it for him he still wont be allowed online with it. I want him to enjoy the game for what it is, like we did. Like when we played the hand held football game with the red dashes as players. We used to get some intense games going on it too. Some games I played growing up: Pong Pitfall Frogger Contra Duck Hunt Galaga Kung Fu Mario Brothers Donkey Kong Punch Out Tecmo Bowl Bases Loaded
