Hmmm a map as a bonus for pre-ordering? Well that makes me want to run right out today and drop my $5 on it. I'm not even gonna shower. Just throw on my flip flops and grab a shirt and out the door I go. If the last two installments of Socom had held my interest for longer than 2 weeks at time, I might find some time to pre-order prior to release date. The map Abandoned (which is by far NOT the best map on Socom) is definitely not enough to send me walking to Gamestop for it. Not only am I not pre-ordering Socom 4, I'm not buying it the day it releases. I'll wait to hear the reviews on this one. With all the other kick ass games available now and then (COD Black Ops, Naughty Bear, Lego Harry Potter, etc) Socom 4 just doesnt excite me. Especially when the bonus is an old map.

Yeah but Boost, from what I've heard around my area, is worse than what Nextel is when it comes to the amount of data you can view and download. I had Nextel but switched to Sprint when the Renegade came out. Some of the same issues with the PTT but coverage was hands down better and the amount of data I could view and download was like night and day. I've got a buddy who has the EVO and he says the battery is horrible but those bells and whistles make up for it. I'll let him know about the PTT and have him be my guinea pig.

Tool - I'm thinking about getting rid of my Renegade for the EVO. All my PTT friends have abandoned me for the newest smart phones on Verizon and Sprint. Does the PTT app (I've heard of a couple of them) work like the PTT for Sprint? I thought I read some where that it was more of a - record your message then send - type of app. And am I correct in assuming that an app like that would allow you to PTT to any Android phone with the app regardless of carrier?

Log in to Netflix on your PC, find a movie you want to watch instantly, and add it to your Instant Que. When you log in on your PS3 you'll see it there.

I use mine quite a bit. I enjoy the ease of being able to watch the movies on my TV vs my laptop. Netflix has added a lot of new movies to the Instant Play list. And now they have a Starz list of select recent films (I just saw this on their site tonight and haven't checked to see if its available using the disc yet). IMO Netflix is the best way to go. I'm a movie watcher though. I can have three at any one time and its nothing for me to watch 6 movies in a week (not including the TV series I watch instantly on my PS3).

I downloaded the new COD maps last night. Went to play them and they weren't there. Downloaded them again and they still weren't there. Finally figured out that I downloaded the map pack for COD MW not COD MW2. I was tired and not paying attention. Realized what I did and downloaded the correct map pack. Called Sony today hoping for a sympathetic ear and a refund. No!!!!!!!! No refunds!!!!!!! It says it in the PS3 terms and conditions and it says it in the download terms and conditions. So I ask why my system didn't inform me that the COD MW map pack I was purchasing already existed on my system. Why did it allow me to download the same thing twice to my HD? Answer - not sure sir it shouldn't have done that unless you downloaded it under a different account. Well I only download under my master account and the awesomeness that is my PS3 allows me to use downloaded items for all accounts so why would it matter what account I downloaded it on the HD should've recognized it already existed. Answer - I'm not sure. But what you are sure of is that I don't get my money back? Answer - correct and the pictures are different too and they blah blah blah...... My bad, I figured I'd give it a shot, lesson learned, and $10 isn't going to break me. But talk about turning the sour taste, I already have for SCEA, to shitty. All over something small. Maybe I'm just being a puss about it. BTW - The NEW map pack is kick ass!!

That was pretty sweet. I wonder how long it took to set each of those up. I've always wondered why someone would spend money on a game and spend time learning how to cheat at it. Now I'm going to wonder why someone would spend money on a game and spend time purposely setting up ridiculously long shot sequences for videos. Serious boredom maybe?

Instead of repeating Shane I'm going to say I agree 100% with everything he wrote (all excellent points Shane) and then add the following: - I'd like for PMN Mines to be brought back - I'd like for claymores to be "set it and forget it" - I'd like more balanced weapons (ie the bar graphs you see when setting up a weapon need to be realistic) - I'd like the ability to vote a single person when dead removed (voting to let someone know to turn around is cheating you're dead and you cant speak) - I'd like vehicles to be brought back - I'd like M2 Mines to be brought back - I'd like 3rd person night vision - I'd like to see, on a night map, further with night vision than without - I'd like the different sized and scenarios based rooms to remain - I'd like the ability to vote out and report glitchers immediately - I'd like to shoot better and die less while my enemy dies from me seeing them (this ones custom just for me)

Remember the good old days when we blasted Zipper because they were absolutely horrible at doing what they promised in the timeline they promised and how much we ALL looked forward to Slant Six stepping in and "saving" the Socom franchise? AHH the GOOD OLD DAYS!!!! Looks like they'll be back this fall. Or this Christmas. Or next spring, summer, or fall.

Thats assuming they increase the distance viewable for the thermal. More than likely the distance will be the same as with night vision which is less than without night vision. I played last night for the first time since MW2 came out. Not bad. Not mind blowing or praise worthy either.

This is a sad day in the UF community. Each one of you so far has commented on this guy, his PS3, lack of job, and/or her actions. Can I vote for both? ;D I put these two up for selection in the beginning so I'm finding it very hard to vote for just one. Alyssa is number one on my list of women I'm allowed to cheat on my wife with so I guess I should go with her.

I've had my PS3 since the day it came out and have always turned if off that way and I've never had any problems. I dont just get up and flip the switch off. I quit the game and I log out of the PSN and out of the screen name. Oh well. Guess I'll start doing as they say. I mean after all Sony knows best right?

Anyone else noticed new error message, about not shutting off the PS3 correctly, thats displayed when you turn your PS3 on? Prior to the patch I would quit the game, scroll over to my screen name, log out, turn off the controller, and then physically shut off my PS3 with the switch in the back. Now doing that gets me an error message when I turn my PS3 back on. It tells me that I now have to use the option above your screen name to turn off the system. Why did this need to change?

Oh please explain this to me. So based on your logic here those who camp would have a much higher KDR. Really?

I "camp" for the following reasons: 1 - I want to protect the area I'm in 2 - I'm not that strong at run and gun 3 - I'm able to gain an advantage on those who run past me (happens a lot) 4 - I believe its more tactical than run and gun and I prefer the more tactical approach 5 - The game itself actually allows me to sit in one place for extended periods of time (I dont die from camping) 6 - Because I can (I own the game) I dont camp so that my KDR is higher. I find it hard to believe that camping enables that unless you're a sniper, and a good one at that. As a matter of fact I believe its your skill at the game and not whether you camp or run and gun that determines your KDR. Maybe I'm way off on that. If someone thinks I am please explain it to me so I can understand how it does so. Why not adapt and overcome in game? Why not be more tactical and out play the opponent? Seems to me run and gunners will always come to you. No need to search them out. Think of it like playing hide and seek with those who camp? I dont see anyone complaining about the people who simply run around the map shooting and throwing grenades hoping for cheap kills. Is that next? Maybe we should add camping to the list of things shooter games should leave out. Like the IW (if you're playing Socom 2.....if playing Confrontation its OK), or RPG's (unless you're strictly using it on vehicles and no one is within 50 meters), or the M60 (unless your tactics call for a heavy machine gun for cover fire or you need a lag buster), or what about......you get the picture. The list is pretty long by now and it sounds as though its just going to keep getting longer. At some point in time people are just going to have to figure out how to play against different styles of play. I try to do that. I try to learn from each of them. And I try to have fun doing so. After all, having fun is why I bought the game. I just thought of a number 7 - It pisses people off (advantage me)

yeah i wonder how long would it take /6..cause IW can make 2 patches in less than a week. And one of those was ready before the game officially released? Maybe Sony should contract IW for the next Socom installement?

What a load of BS!!! I pre-paid, or so I thought, for MW2 at Gamestop. I show up at 2350 to get in line, with almost 200 hundred other people, for the midnight release. At 0015 a Gamestop employee informs us that if we have not paid for our game we need to proceed to another line up front to do so. 10 minutes later I'm informed that I, along with a large number of others, did not pre-pay for our game we simply reserved our game (reserved with money by the way is different than actually paying for it). 35 minutes into this experience and I find out I have to get out of line and go finalize the payment so that I can get a receipt with some zit faced employees initials on it and return to the end of the line, I was originally in, to receive my copy of MW2. Needless to say, over an hour later, I got my copy. Did not happen the way I had envisioned it would, by I got it. Then to add insult to injury.............I had to do a software upgrade when I put the game in. Alright I'm done ranting for now. Anyone else have a story? By the way - If the people I play with online look anything like the people I stood in line with I'm glad I cant see you guys. Although I do feel a lot better about myself now.

Thanks LAST. I've already made it known throughout the house that I will be picking this up at midnight and playing through the night. I havent been this excited about a game since Socom 3.
