I wasn't really posting it to bash on Fox, I just like seeing Jon Stewart going head to head against a "Serious Journalist". Since I dont really watch the news or jon stewart it was pretty entertaining to see him debate using such simple logic.

PJ has put in our application, are the segment dates changing by chance to reflect the new start date when its announced? Or are you just starting at the closest segment start date?

The host can still not re-join. We had it happen to us twice since the patch came out. Also when in the clan match system what happens is, You challenge a clan and then it changes that clans status. The challenge does not show up for the clan so you cancel it only it asks if your sure you want to cancel against a diff clan. That is because it just takes the name of the next clan on the list and inserts it because when the clan you challenged left ready status it was replaced by a diff clan in the challenge list. Also when someone challenges you it doesnt show up half the time BUT it will change your clan status to "In Challenge". If you see yur status change without you doing anything then challenge another clan and it will make the challenge sent to you appear. Double rounding on Bomb squad is still a big issue, PE4 is pretty much taken care of, but the weapon load outs seem to be really iffy. Between not being able to change your load out in between rounds and having your inventory set to smoke and flash after being the bomb squad it can be a little ridiculous. Also there is a huge issue with the clan match system showing clans who arent there and also don't have a name.

I figured it out because we war 5-10 times a day and have watched clans do it countless times. The get on bring in 10 guys, ready up, go down to 6 get a challenge and the other 4 come back in. It's not super hard to figure out. And they do it to ensure a win for a rating boost. They want the other clan to bounce and if they don't then the clan has a big advantage in numbers to help ensure the win. It's shitty but thats what's happening.

Yea but unfortunately they wont be changing it for a long while off. What clans do is they get people to come in and then ready up. Once they ready up they have a few members leave and the clan starts sending challenges. Once a challenge is accepted they bring the members back in because as long as they were in when the clan status was set to Ready they can come back at any point in the night without having to ready down.

While I dont necessarily agree with everything Last- posts, don't you think it's comments like "Keep bringing up issues and you probably can't play here anymore" that support the concern that people who disagree with the main opinion on a consistent basis are not welcome here. I mean yes I think their is a little overkill as of late on starting threads for the purpose of disagreeing but this isn't the first time I've seen that comment stating that "If you keep this up I doubt you'll be invited to play". It's one person and while I understand that outside actions can reflect on a clan, that is typically towards clans who are unestablished and new to the UF community. One person in a clan voicing their opinion on various subjects should in no way prevent them from playing especially if everyone knows that in game they fight fair. Sorry, rant over.

Ok, thanks for the clarification. For some reason it seemed like there was a wait for the custom room set-up to change. Waiting for the patch is completely understandable.

No doubt, I love cooking but havent had a chance to do much on the grill yet outside of some steaks and small pork loin and what not. Mostly because I live in an Apt so I can't have a smoker. I'd def be down for a cooking section though as I'm always looking to try new recipes.

I agree with you in waiting for the patch but I thought the issue was waiting for the custom rooms to be changed. If I was incorrect I apologize as I think waiting for the patch to start the tourney is completely understandable as its only 1-2 weeks away. BUT if they are waiting for custom rooms so they don't have to use the in-game system then there is going to be nobody left here to compete by the time it comes out. They havent even pretended to announce to the public that they are working on it meaning that if it comes out it wont be for at least 1-2 months and that is being VERY optimistic. It's one thing to wait a few weeks to get the kinks out of the game that are effecting the wars, it's a whole other to wait for the whole war process inside the game to be changed lol. I think most people would just like to see some preparation being made so that a tourney can be started as soon as the patch drops and is tested through. As far as sizing up the competition I agree but that can just as easily be done on the in-game ladder without jumping through the hoops of UFGL. If you see a UF clan then send them a challenge providing you have the same numbers. Or set up a scrim on their forums ahead of time to ensure you have the right numbers on. It does sadden me to see that nobody is going around setting up scrims anymore. I remember when our challenge sections was one of the most used sections on the TNU forum

You can't look at the UFGL as a precursor to how a tournament sign-up would result. The UFGL requires all participants to sign up and that's asking a lot for a system that doesnt have 5 clans using it. Believe me when I say I understand the concept of how it's "Suppose" to work but the fact is that people are to lazy to put in that much effort for something with such a little turn-out. Nobody is going to have their entire clan of 30-50 members register in order to war 5 other clans, especially when that ladder has no bearing on anything (not a tournament, not their rep in game, no prize, nothing). There is nothing motivating people to play on that ladder that they can't do in game. A tournament on the other hand offers clans structure for 1-2 days out of the week, it also offers them a chance at a title to display on their website or sigs. I mean if a clan wants a regular match it's much easier to just jump in the clan match system and grab one. As a clan with over 4,600 games played between our 2 rosters I think we'd know lol.

I can understand the concern of no tournaments being run. While the game is currently very glitchy with a lot of outside factors effecting wars (Late spawns) I would still expect that the site have some kind of plan to run a tournament using the in-game ladder system. Considering that there have been no actual projected release dates for a custom match system which would allow for a custom war to be made. The best you can hope for are some custom playlists to be made available inside of the already existing clan war system. With that said there should be something constructed allowing clans to compete on the in-game system relevant to UF as soon as the next patch comes out by Mid June. I understand that zipper may state that they are working on something to accommodate the site but in all reality their main focus is to accommodate Gamebattles/MLG because it's a Sony Supported site so I wouldn't count on getting what UF needs in that game for MONTHS and there should be something put in place for the community to participate in while your waiting for that update.

I guess the only question i have here is the same one I've been wondering since day 1. How is what I did with CT or what other tournament are doing now any different than what UF did with Socom Quest? If you can clear that one up for me I'll be more than happy to pipe down. And on top of that, since you have taken over UF, what original styles of tournament play have you come up with? I haven't been around too long but I havent seen any originality come out of here since it was taken over yet. Just the same style of tourneys that have always been played here yet you keep telling everyone else to be creative. You can claim that endurance is something new but how is it anything other than a staggered set of regular tournaments with a grand playoff added at the end. No new concepts coming out of here either. Look I know I'm probably coming off as an ass to a lot of people but when you get criticized by someone (or a group of people) for doing something knowing damn well they did the exact damn thing it's a little un-nerving to say the least. If you weren't preaching up on your high horse I would have no issue with you but you might as well be a priest telling a sermon about adultery with your girlfriend and wife in the same pew. (Yes I'm aware that would be much worse but it was the first metaphor that came to mind.)

Rendering software does that for a "Perspective View" I used to Model in AutoCAD, Solid Works, and Maya man and I know it's no easy tasks getting those kind of lines so my hats off to you. It's def takes a little more time than I'm willing to give to make sigs for my clan man but the end result is great. I'm glad to see something fresh being done.

I know, I've been stuck in respawn for days trying to mod up and it's taking forever. Especially with little glitches that prevent you from changing your weapon happening on occasion.

yea but sometimes it doesnt tell you that you've been challenged until you try to challenge someone and it says "A Clan Challenge is currently Awaiting Your Response" lol

haha I disappear for a day and it gets successfully hijacked. I've said all I needed to and Sniper you may be correct about it being a valid attempt. Either way at least now the information is out there should someone want to file an appeal or look into things a bit deeper and that was the whole reason to have the discussion (to get as much information available as possible) and I know a lot of the members at UF are research hounds lol. I have absolutely nothing against anyone who posted on the opposing side but we have a year and another $4500 to see what happens and if it goes through. So until then I'll go about my day. Maybe I'll post a little more around UF on some lighter subjects as a few of you have suggested but either way I need to get back to decorating my house with pagan gods. I had to take them all down a few years ago when my brother found religion but that magic carpet ride to the heavens is coming in a few hours so I figured what the hell.

Im not saying it's not true. I don't doubt that they actually filed at all. Im just saying it didnt come up but with it being so new I didn't really expect it to. And Red I can respect that you don't agree with me, that's all fine. And I do post but its rare. I'll say hey to some old faces returning or if there is a post that catches my eye I'll chime in. But that fact is that forum activity has dropped so posting options are a little limited and anything new I usually just keep to my clan forums and discuss it there. I used to post on UF all the time where there was an abundance of topics to read through.

I tried running keywords as well Lukin to no avail. And peebrain you are most certainly correct but despite that I still feel that someone needed to represent the other side of the coin and since I had the least to loose I figured I would take on the mantel rather then letting someone else risk their involvement here. Also, i2IDIUM if you'd like to set up a scrimmage your more than welcome to come by the site listed on my sig. There is some consideration about participating here. I recently received a PM, from someone I wont mention because I feel they were correct in what was said, but the said PM basically reminded me that whether we are treated fairly or not is mostly up to the concern of the staff running the individual tournaments rather than the directors themselves. And while I may have some concerns with the Directors, I have a lot of respect and trust towards the actual staff on site and still have friendships with a few of them despite previous events. So with that said there is still some consideration to be taken into account as to if we will participate here in the future.

While I used to run my own, I actually have no interest in running or operating my own site anymore with so much on my plate. But I was saying the Concept of a tacmap was the theme park but the actual map itself was the roller coaster. I can understand them not wanting anyone else to use the same map. But the tournaments that I'm seeing today operate and function so differently now that the Map is the only thing making them similar (with the exception of some basic rules like "Don't Cheat" ect...). I can see where my analogy can be misconstrued though since it would make more sense to link the items the way you described but that couldnt be the case given the point I was attempting to make. My general interest is making sure my clan has options on where to compete if we want to participate in that style of tournament. And considering my history on this site (I don't feel comfortable having TNU compete here for risk of being treated unfairly). Now that is a completely separate issue but that it my reason for posting.

Yes but critikil there are pre-existing documents and proof of ownership. There are archives and invoices as well as trademarks and copyrights protecting the use of certain maps and logos. Now SniperCity let's put this into a little perspective: Let's say that a long time ago you put a lot of time and money into building a Theme Park (let's say Six Flags) and a couple years later Bush Gardens contacts you and says "Hey, we're placing a patent on the concept of Theme Parks and now you have to shut yours down. They aren't saying "Dont use the same roller coasters" or "Dont have the same shows" they are saying your park can no longer exist because despite your park being around for years and Bush Gardens not being the ones to create this concept they are trying to force you to close yours because it uses the same concept. How would you react to that? Now on a different scale, lets say your family doesn't like going to Six flags so you usually go to Bush Gardens. Now Six Flags is trying to force you to go to their establishment by attempting to prevent any competitors from offering the same concept. They aren't doing it by trying to run them out of business with better practices or lower prices or better features but simply saying "Hey, we decided we want to be the only ones to offer this product" despite having no license to do so. Now Critikill you are right to SOME extent in saying that certain Operating Systems were ripped off but if we are using those terms it would be UF saying "You can't use our Map" Which is completely understandable. But Bill gates never had license to say "You cant create another operating system" because the concept cant be patented. If it operates and functions differently then it can't be prevented despite the concept being the same. Now I said I'm done and I am but please do not post saying "Oh you guys are horrible, or Oh you shouldn't be saying this" Because in doing so you put yourself on the same level by instigating the topic and a reply. Saying "Don't reply cause you know I'm right" Isn't exactly putting yourself on a higher level my friend.
