Hey everyone! SFB Games is comprised of two brothers, Adam and Tom Vian from London. We've been making games for many years (mostly for browsers, under the name "The Super Flash Bros.") and this is our first opportunity to make a game that can be enjoyed on a real handheld console. When we heard about PlayStation Mobile and thought about PS Vita as a platform, there was only one game we had in mind. The colourful graphics and simple controls of Haunt the House work perfectly in this context -- it's a really natural fit. The original Haunt the House was a browser game we made for Halloween back in 2010, and since then we’ve come a long way as designers. The basic idea of Haunt the House: you float around as a ghost, possessing any objects you see and use them to perform spooky haunting actions to any humans who are nearby! The aim of the game is to scare every single human away from the town, but this game also has an extra objective... More...

I hope everyone had good holidays with your friends and families, but it’s time to kick-start your gaming new year. Earth Defense Force 2017 Portable will be available for $39.99 in North America as a digital PS Vita download when the PSN update goes live later today. Earth Defense Force 2017 first landed on US soil in 2007. With its addictive and exhilarating bug-squashing gameplay, the Japanese developer Sandlot succeeded in catching the attention of gamers. Now, thanks to the high performance of PS Vita, we are able to bring the EDF world to the handheld console with many new additions including online co-op and versus modes, new missions, enemies and weapons, and a new playable character in Pale Wing. Well, the time is almost upon us. A week from today – Tuesday, January 15th, 2013 – Corpse Party: Book of Shadows will be available for purchase on the North American PlayStation Store for $19.99, with a European release to follow shortly thereafter. It’s been a long journey getting this game to you guys, so it seemed prudent to give you all a bit more information about it. After all, an appetite for blood and dismay is at its best when thoroughly whetted... And since each chapter in Corpse Party: Book of Shadows tells its own standalone story, I thought the best way to make you salivate even more would be to give a brief, spoiler-free introduction to each one. So without further ado, here’s a taste of what’s in store for you when you fire up your PSP (or PS Vita) next week. More...

Post-holiday slump got you down? Perk up -- Sony Electronics will be showing off the latest gadgets and tech tonight from the International Consumer Electronics Show starting at 5:00pm Pacific Time/8:00pm Eastern Time. Better yet, you can peer into this wonderful world in real time with the convenient livestream embedded above. Once the presentation wraps up, you can mosey on over to Sony's official CES site to get full details on new product announcements, videos, links, pictures and more. Ain't technology grand? Though CES is adored for many reasons, hardcore gaming content traditionally doesn't take a front-and-center focus. That said, you're sure to spot an array of slick gadgets and consumer electronics. You can also follow along with the fun on Sony Electronics on Twitter. More...

Welcome back! I hope that your holiday break was as fulfilling as mine (and by that I mean I finally wrapped up Persona 4 Golden). Did you clear out your backlog at all? Or maybe you got more games as gifts, that are now contributing to that pile? During the break, we got some holiday cards from developers such as Superbot and Naughty Dog, we got a first ears-on with Soul Sacrifice's Skywalker Sound scoring sessions, got you a holiday-themed papercraft reindeer from the Tearaway team, and plenty more. With Persona 4 Golden finally finished (no Platinum Trophy... yet), I'm moving on to one I probably should have played by now: The Walking Dead. More...

A lot of unusual things go on here at ATLUS, and as a publisher known for delivering great JRPG content, Demon's Souls represented something unique even for us: runaway mainstream success. In the years since its release, Demon's Souls went far above and beyond our usual humble offerings, partly because it's such a special game. It's a Japanese-developed RPG, made by From Software, but it has a distinctly Western look and feel in the weight of its movements and the ruthlessness of its enemies and environments. It's a single-player title, but it has a strong online component unlike anything that came before it, where you can summon other players as friendly ghosts to give you a hand, or be invaded by hostile marauders without warning. Its unsparing difficulty seemed to mark it as destined to be appreciated only by a select few, yet it's been universally lauded (and awarded Game of the Year by a few, including GameSpot) and remains our highest-selling title ever. Happy Christmas from the When Vikings Attack! Team
Commander Fury posted a topic in Playstation Blog
There is a phenomena described by serious mountaineers who, having finally struggled to the crest of a vertiginous peak, experience not the sense of elation and celebration that was perhaps visualised back at base camp, but instead a blank numbness; a complete inability to think anything at all. Bodies and minds are wracked with exhaustion and ravaged by hypoxia, to the point where mental faculties are reduced to those of a small child. One might well wonder why anyone would choose to put themselves through this at all. This is the closest I can come to describing the feeling of finishing the development of Clever Beans’ first game, When Vikings Attack! Hello everyone! I can’t believe the end of the year is here already. Needless to say, this was quite a momentous year for us at SuperBot with shipping our first title, Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale, and announcing our game’s first DLC pack with incredible new characters Kat and Emmett, and a super awesome Heavenly Sword/Wipeout level. We have been thrilled with all of the positive response the game has been getting, especially from the fans, as this love letter we call PlayStation All-Stars was ultimately crafted just for them. We are so proud that we are able to work on, and deliver, such a cool and long awaited title for you all. More...

If asked, most of us can recall a favorite scene or two from a movie, a shot or sequence that lingered with us long after the lights came on and we left the theater. We retain the visual, but often it isn’t until we see that same scene muted that we discover that the music, the aural accompaniment, was a far greater part of our experience than we realized. Just as in cinema, music is a huge part of what makes many gaming memories so rich. It’s a significant ingredient in creating a sense of grandeur and making something feel epic. Soul Sacrifice, the next title from legendary developer Keiji Inafune, has such aspirations. It may be a handheld action title, but there is nothing portable or small about the game’s scope or presentation. Case in point: the game’s soundtrack is composed by Yasunori Mitsuda and Wataru Hokoyama, two of the most recognized composers in the industry. More...

If you were to visit the Media Molecule studio, you’d see that it’s very us. The pink carpets lead you through to a work space that’s filled with bright colours and interesting or curious things to look at. In a bid to keep our surroundings inspiring and as conducive to creativity as possible, we’re spoiled rotten with creature comforts and toys to play. To a visitor, all of this can make for quite a tour. As a visitor though, you’d only get to see a brief glimpse of the studio - enough to take in the big picture, but not enough to truly get a feel for the place, and they say; the devil is in the detail. If you were able to spend more time here, you’d start to notice all the little things that are perhaps less immediately enticing as a ping pong table, but are far more interesting, and quite often, downright odd.
