1. Hello PlayStation Blog readers, I’m Ramiro Corbetta, creator of Hokra, one of the four games that make up Sportsfriends (Kickstart the compilation here!). If you don’t know about Sportsfriends, it’s a compendium of four super fun local multiplayer games that’s coming to PSN in 2013. Over the last couple of weeks, two of the other designers involved in Sportsfriends spoke about their games (you can read about Noah Sasso’s BaraBariBall and about Bennett Foddy’s Super Poler Riders), and today I get to write about my game. 2. Enter the EVE Universe, where intergalactic conflict among immortal spaceship pilots has spilled from the vast, empty expanse of space onto the surfaces of the planets themselves. These ground conflicts are waged in the battle zones of DUST 514, where you, the boots on the ground, are empowered to take the war effort to a whole new level. As a mercenary in DUST 514, you are the frontline against other intrepid soldiers of fortune. At your disposal you have a large arsenal of weaponry and a range of vehicle classes, from ground-based light attack vehicles and heavy attack vehicles, to imposing aerial-based dropships. In this video, you'll see how vehicle classes provide a rock-solid foundation for exploring specialized roles. More...
3. During the making of our game Page Chronica, a common question has been “Is this an edutainment game?†Whenever we hear that word, our bodies cringe and we adamantly deny the claim. In the gaming industry, the term conjures memories of boring school educational games that would alienate the majority of our console gamers. So for a long period of time, we would refuse to admit that our game is such a thing. However, we eventually lightened up to the notion. That is not to say that we have fully accepted the classification, but it is more of a matter of tweaking our perspectives. So to all the edutainment-haters out there, we're here to convince you to withhold judgment and give Page Chronica a try. Page Chronica is not your average side-scrolling action-platformer. It is an action-oriented word-puzzle game that combines elements of action-platformers with the forming of words. More...

5. For weeks now, members of GTplanet and PlayStation.Blog have been speculating about the mysterious appearance of a camouflaged Corvette C7 appearing in Gran Turismo 5's screen saver. Well, the rumors are true – officially announced today at the LA Auto Show, Chevrolet and Polyphony Digital have been working very closely for months in developing an exclusive first-hand driving experience by offering a camouflaged Corvette C7 Test Prototype in Gran Turismo 5. The DLC is now available for free through PlayStation Store. With spy photos valued at an estimated $100,000, Chevrolet has gone to extreme measures to disguise the test car. In fact, a designated Corvette design team was tasked with developing custom camouflage to conceal the new design elements. The concealed test prototype continues to undergo extensive performance and durability testing in preparation for final production. Millions of hours will be accumulated through thousands of rigorous performance trials before the car is released later in 2013. More...
6. Ratchet & Clank: Full Frontal Assault hits store shelves and the PS Store today, but if you’re looking for PS Vita version of that title, you’ll need to be a little more patient. Other games hitting this week include Ace Combat: Assault Horizon and Men in Black: Alien Crisis along with a few SEGA classics like Sonic The Fighters, Fighting Vipers and Virtua Fighter 2. The latest add-on for Mass Effect 3 is here – fans can now re-take Omega station with the help of Aria T’Loak. 7. Following my last post in October regarding Under Defeat HD: Deluxe Edition’s development, I was excited to see all the community feedback and anticipation towards the title's launch. Shoot ‘em up games are definitely part of a unique, niche genre and to be able to see such a great demand for Under Defeat HD only makes the development part easier for the team. With that said, I’m so excited to announce that Under Defeat HD: Deluxe Edition is available today exclusively through Amazon for PlayStation 3! A digital version will also be available December 4th via PlayStation Network. More...

The game is Puzziball, and like our previous game Bullion Blitz, it came about from a desire to create something tactile and engaging. 13. We are all gamers. It's that simple. A crossover appeared. When PlayStation asked us at Robot Chicken to literally "play" with their all-star line-up of characters, we were not about to say no. PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale gave us an opportunity in the writers' room to have the geek discussions we all love to have. Who would destroy who in a fight to the death, or wherever they end up going after being defeated. To make this animated short, we got one of our Head Writers Douglas Goldstein and our super gamer writers Mike Fasolo and Rachel Bloom (check out her geek videos on YouTube) to create this fun off-hours scenario for all our favorite PlayStation characters. Then we got our super geek director/writer Zeb Wells (who y'all may know from his comic book writing history) to dive in and direct. Magic in a bottle. More...

17. Turkey! Stuffing! Various types of pie! 20. In a tweet today, PlayStation reminded everyone that these so-called PSN Code generators are nothing more than a phishing scam. Important: "PSN Code Generators" are scams. Don't fall for it! http://t.co/gW8JuMnC — PlayStation (@PlayStation) November 24, 2012 Fake/Scam PSN Code Generator We’ve received reports regarding a fake PSN Code Generator that asks you to enter your PlayStation Network (PSN) information then promises to generate free PSN vouchers. Please note that this a scam that will attempt to obtain your PSN information. If you have entered your information in the PSN Code Generator, we recommend you take the following actions: Change your email and password for your PlayStation Network account using the official PlayStation Network Website. Contact Sony PlayStation Consumer Services at 1-800-345-7669, also contact your credit or debit card customer service representative. Check the email tied to your PlayStation Network account for suspicious purchases. Delete any random chain messages, even if they are from friends. Block users who send you chain messages. As some of the tools may have malicious code or backdoors, scan your system for malware. We have run across one of these lately on Facebook http://psn.digir4d3.net/ (BEWARE DO NOT GO TO THIS SITE IT IS A WASTE OF YOUR TIME) which will get you to share the link on Facebook then prompt you to do an offer (this is to make them money) to activate the code. In fact the code is never activated and puts you in an endless loop. The code will never activate, but the site owner will earn a ton of money to those thinking you just have to keep doing it until it works. We highly recommend following the advice that PlayStation has posted on their site and steer clear of anything that is too good to be true! View the full article

22. My stomach is swollen with sleep-inducing turkey, but I reserved just enough strength to click the "publish" button for today's episode. Given the Thanksgiving week holiday, it's a bit of a scattered affair -- we share next week's North American PSN lineup, of course, and answer a cornucopia of Listener Queries and Player Tips. Then we gather around the harvest table with PlayStation.Blog's Justin Massongill and PlayStation Public Relations Manager Aram Jabbari to trade anecdotes, origin stories, and more. I'm really happy and fortunate to be able to tell all of you that BaraBariBall is headed to PSN as part of Sportsfriends, alongside JS Joust, Hokra and Super Pole Riders. We introduced the Sportsfriends collection about a week ago so you should already know what that is (if you forgot, it's a collection of four fun, competitive multiplayer games), so now I'm here now to tell you all about BaraBariBall, or BBB for short. BaraBariBall is a new fighting game for 2 to 4 players. Instead of just smacking your opponent around, players duel for control of the ball and score points by dunking it into the goals on either side of the screen... More...
24. There’s plenty to play over Thanksgiving break with this Store update’s new releases – PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale is out on both PS3 and PS Vita, while Disney’s Epic Mickey 2, a special edition of Hitman Absolution and Family Guy: Back to the Multiverse are on PS3. Joining them are previously released titles including Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning, Tom Clancy’s EndWar, F1 Race Stars and the DOOM Classic Collection. If you’re a PlayStation Plus member you can now download a ton of content for your PS Vita. With the membership spanning both PS3 and PS Vita now, you can look forward to 18 free games a month -- not to mention the other Plus benefits. Besides all the Plus freebies, PS Vita owners can nab Persona 4: Golden, Sine Mora (also available on PSN), Jet Set Radio (though if you’re a Plus member, it’s free!) and Eliminage Original (also for PSP). 25. Sine Mora is launching on PS3 and PS Vita today, including some content that was cut from other versions of the game. Between a new challenge mode, the collaboration of a Japanese shoot'em up giant, and the special abilities of the PS Vita hardware, we truly think the wait for Sine Mora on PS3 and PS Vita was worth it - these versions are the richest we could possibly deliver. From a technical perspective, the PS3 version was a walk in the park. Our technology has always been designed with the Cell processor in mind, enabling us to go for high framerates and image quality, uncompromised. We're especially proud of how the PS Vita version turned out -- neither the framerate nor the resolution was sacrificed, delivering the highest possible rendition of our original vision on a handheld.
