his tag says he's a navy boy, but what position in the navy does he hold?? There are not a whole lot of "ground troop" positions in the navy (at least to my limited knowledge). Guy sounds like a B-A though.

One of the most awsome stories I've heard in a while; of coarse, I never buy warranties, just take good care of my crap.... Though in your case (previously opened), you got the hook up!

I'm really hoping that it won't be something that people enjoy at first, but then abandon later; though I fear it will be. O' well, only time will tell.

right on, You guys are studs, I got his playstation up and running today. I did it by putting the "DBAN" format software on a CD, then made his HDD the primary HDD on my home PC, and booted from the CD. Everything worked great! thanks guys.

so if I were to use a laptop, would I do this: 1. Power down the laptop 2. take out laptop hard drive 3. insert ps3 hard drive 4. boot up laptop 5. uh, I'm sure where I would go to format it 6. power down laptop 7. take out ps3 hard drive 8. insert laptop hard drive 9. boot up laptop 10. laptop doesn't even know what happens. runs like normal would that be all? thanks in advance also, is there a chance that the laptop would get the same error message, and not be able to format it?

A player in my clan recently got a message pop-up on his ps3 that says "Hard Drive Corruption," and it will not allow him to access any menus. Originally, the ps3 told him to reformat the hard drive, but when he tried, he got the "HDD Corruption" message. So I got to thinking, a regualar computer/laptop should be able to reformat the HDD, so long as i plug it in correctly. Which is where my question comes from: If this is possible (and we have nothing to loose), how can it be done? I know that you can purchase any internal SATA 2.5" Hard drive and it will work for the ps3, so completely wipeing out the ps3's original hard drive should work too. The faster the better! I'd like to get him up and running for Monday's war.

word, I hear you there. it's a different lifestyle over there and they play army for different reasons. kinda stereotypical to say that all guys with hoods and live in the middle east are terrorists. that's just my opinion.
