They have already stated on the battlelog that the private servers will be "rent-a-servers". So if you want to be involved in that open up your pocket book. I would, for sure, but one thing I am seeing is complaining about buying a game and then having to purchase things they think should be apart of the game, you guys are in fanasty land. Not once did I see an inclination by DICE that there will be private servers for the consoles. Also if I am interested I will buy, because the general purpose of the base game that you bought for ~$60 was the single player game and the right to go online without the extra fee. I think they delivered on both those things, other then that they are giving more content. Sounds like something Zipper needs to look into, or should I say needed. Because the way they have bastardized the SOCOM series they have lost their base.

Going off your question Shane, I would add this. I wonder what percentage of the population is sending information out rather then receiving? I bet it is pretty even in this day and age, even with the disparity between a usual upload/download speed. So I would say your question is an excellent one, but I wonder if it is even possible.

Instead of going about your business you pipe up with something completely out of the blue and make yourself look like even more of a horses ass. lol I was with dad and the other movie we were going to see we couldn't get into, so we went to the one dad wanted to watch. I remember hearing bueller...bueller. But don't remember enjoying the movie, mainly because I was so young.

Don't put the responsibility of the community continuing on the shoulders of the players. UF is only as strong as the interest it builds in tournaments. What is the major thing that has been missing at UF for quite a while now??? Tac-Map. That was mainly the only thing here, all the other tournaments were minced meat compared to the tac-maps. It took everyones time up here and no clan had time to go play at any other site. Next it is the responsibility of the staff to get interest in this community. If the clans here don't want to play, find clans that do. Find individuals that do. Create the product and drive anticipation for that product. Make it like no one has seen and market it like so. If the community fails it is not the consumers fault. It is the businesses fault for not giving the consumer what they need. Not what the want, what the NEED. Lets take the iphone/ipod, no one needs a new one when they bring it out every year. Yet people think they do. You say, "well red, we do have tournaments available...people just don't want to play!" I again tell you it isn't the fact you have them available. It is always content. 4v4 isn't cutting it, and there has been posts here that people aren't sure what to expect in these tournaments, maybe that should be addressed. Also does it really need to be 4v4? Can it not be 6v6 or 8v8? I am not on MW3 so I don't know. I just think that anyone on Staff is not only responsible for content and the tournaments, but also promoting the community and recruiting. It is the clans responsibility to play when they want to and compete when they want to compete. Because THAT is the reason for UF. Play against like minded individuals that want to have a fair play environment. That is the community, not some mythical bond that we need to help each other in need. That is what a clan is for. Sorry if this seems insensitive, but reality is the gaming industry has made it clear they don't give a crap if tournament sites like this exist. It is up to the tournament sites to figure out a way to make it work and the team in charge, are the ones this responsibility falls on. No more...no less.

That game for the Vita looks a ton like the old SOCOMs. Could be a good sign...or absolutely nothing. lol

So a 25% difference in Titles sold between those 2 consoles. And the disparity after that is astounding. Yet Activision can afford to alienate its clients on the PS3 side, charge money for a service that guarantees early "hands on" and still favors one unit over the next. I guess my next question is how much Microsoft gave to Activision for this favoritism? Why would a software company divide itself in the market and disenfranchise part of its audience? That is what confuses me. I don't have the game, I have been thinking about picking it up. But I am not going to get Elite if it means that I am really not getting anything special.

I wouldn't mind seeing how the sales figures went out for MW3. I truly wonder what the split between platforms really is. Does Microsoft really get a boost by getting in bed with Activision?

I firmly believe if Zipper/Sony had called SOCOM 4 something else it would have been a more successful game. Since they decided to call it SOCOM 4 everyone had expectations that it would continue what SOCOM is. Whether or not there will be another game like SOCOM 1-CA it highly unlikely.

No SOCOM 3 not Combined Assault. CA was the expansion to SOCOM 3. And yes that combination was the best of all the SOCOMs
