ps3 60 gig

Recommended Posts

WOW. What are the 20's going for? I bet I got hosed when I sold my 20 gig to pick up an 80 since I needed more space than the launch 20's could offer (I sold it in September 08). I want to exchange my 80 to get a SLIM, but don't want to spend any money to do so. Gamestop only offers $100 for 80 gig's, so I'll stick with the 80 for now until some type of deal comes up.

I'm using a 40gig right now, but I also have a backwards 80gig that needs the Blue-Ray drive replaced/repaired, I just have to want to spend the $150. ::)

I just had to do that I should have mine back today or tomorrow. It's actually not that bad a deal when you consider the $150 also covers shipping.

If you need more space, you can always attach a USB External Hard Drive to store your stuff or my favorite option, just get a 500gb + SATA 2.5" hard drive and replace your internal hard drive. This will not void your warranty and Sony has the instructions for each Model and will even send you replacement screws to mount the hard drive if you need more.

I have 2 of the first 60gb and will be upgrading one of the hard drives as soon as I see a good sale on a 2.5" SATA Seagate.

Yeah, I got an 80 backwards.....how much are they worth?

I would assume more than the 60's. I'll give Gamestop a buzz tomorrow and find out, maybe the quote on my 80 non backwards changed from the measly $100 they offered me when the Slim launched.

i have 2 of these and a new 80 gig ... i wanted to get the new slim ... fyi the 60 gigs are selling for 350 because of the backward capabilities... i didn't know this .... so i guess I'm getting 2 slims and 100 bucks in my pocket ...

Did you get $350 for the 60gb? Or is that what they are supposedly going for?

I tried to attach an external hard drive. It was a no go, didn't even recognize it. Not sure if the hard drive has to be formatted a certain way or not.

I have a Western Digital 160gb external hard drive and I have no problems with the PS3 recognizing it!

Maybe it's the size of my 2 1TB drives that's the problem. My PS3 will only recognise my usb drives.

For the ps3 to recognize your external hd it has to be formatted in fat32 western digital comes formatted fat32 alot of other brands come as ntsf, windows cannot reformat a drive that big for some reason into fat 32 but there is a program called swissknife that will do it for you http://download.cnet.com/1770-20_4-0.html?query=swisknife&tag=srch&searchtype=downloads&filterName=platform%3DWindows%2CWebware&filter=platform%3DWindows%2CWebware hope this helps also once reformatted you have to create a folder called Video and one called picture i believe for it to be recognized..... you can also copy something off of your ps3 hd to your external and it will create the folder for you! Hope this helps :)

fat32 biggest chunks are 4 gig
