Within Socom you have a friends list (and separate clan list) and so you could follow your friends into a room, you don't have to be invited. While in the lobby (between games), you can choose which side you want to be on. In game, you have the ability to vote out cheaters/obnoxious children. You can customize a room to have any map/gameplay that you want and you will still gain rank (or xp in COD) BUT the ranking system sucks so rank really means little. And for the clan part of it. When a clan is created, ONE person creates the clan, gives it a tag AND name and then invites you into the clan. Only if invited can you wear a specific clan's tag. (Theoretically, you can create whatever tag you want but you cannot NAME your clan the same as someone else's. So you can check a player's stats where the clan info. would be located, to see if he/she is legit.) Stuff like that ...

COD 4 = pacifier. Even at it's worst, I had more fun on Socom than COD. Only thing good about COD is graphics. Inability to get together with clan in same room, open mics, lack of "clan support" makes COD SUCK! Oh and did I mention the 1st person aspect? I could go on and on, but you get my point.

Since I do Desktop Publishing for a living, I couldn't help but "proof" this flyer. Here you go: Is your finger itching to do more than random online play? Is your clan looking for more clan based activities that public rooms just don't offer? Well the co-creators and administration of UrgentFury.com would like to present THE CRUCIBLE. For those who may not know, Urgent Fury has been bringing military based tournament play for years now on SOCOM. We are now embarking onto the Playstation 3 and using Call of Duty 4 as our battleground. Urgent Fury has been bringing the toughest competition since its inception. So do yourself and your clan a favor and come to the Urgent Fury forums on December 9th and sign your clan up for the hottest CoD4 invitation-only tournament to hit the gaming community. Here's another based on Red's original thoughts: URGENT FURY presents THE CRUCIBLE Since it's inception, Urgent Fury has brought scenario-based tournament play to the Socom community with honorable clans battling it out for control of territories. The Crucible will be Urgent Fury's walk into the territory of the newest online military shooter, Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare for the PS3. Beginning December 9th clans can sign-up for the hottest CoD4 invitation-only tournament to hit the gaming community. So if your clan is tired of random online play, looking for clan based activities that public rooms just don't offer, or just wants to battle it out with honorable clans, go to www.urgentfury.com. Keep these important dates in mind: Sign ups open: December 9th Invitation release: January 6th Launch of THE CRUCIBLE: January 20th

When we choose Peace, Love, and Socom, I think part of that was because we were leaving/breaking ties with a group where ugliness, hate, and constant turmoil was a way of life and we wanted to be free of all that and just enjoy each other's company and the game. So the name was fitting at the time. (Not to mention all the stuff Fire said about why we had to quickly find a name.) Now that we are no longer just a Socom clan, we felt we needed to change (which we originally had planned on doing after PoW but was lazy about doing). So we took a vote and being that most of our clan is made up of testosterone driven men, the vote was narrowly AoV. So far, it's been a difficult transition for me but I hope that soon I feel comfortable in AoV skin.

EXACTLY ... funny how some don't hold theirselves to the standards to which they are holding everyone else. Take care JyK.

Good job S!K!

Ya know Junk, no matter how hard you try, you can't please everyone. Â I've not played with JyK EVER and all I know about you all is from PoW and the forum here. Â Because your rough start was most everyone's first impressions of JyK it seems that some cannot move forward from there. Â In the beginning, I too was concerned about the kind of people who comprise JyK, but to me, you all have tried really hard to fit in around here. Â Unfortunately those who "don't know you" take your joking the wrong way. Â I don't know you either, so I don't take your joking any way, cause it's nothing to me. My advice to you ... be who you are and if someone responds negatively to something that you post, don't worry about it. Â Don't give merit to those kinds of things with a response. Â I know your natural reaction is to defend yourself but one person's reaction and subsequent post doesn't mean that we all feel that way. Â Those who do know you will know that you are only kidding around. Â Most of those who don't know you won't really care one way or another. Â And for everyone else, most likely nothing you do will ever change how they feel so don't waste your energy.

Flash drive in the usb port. This is how we did it. Couldn't download to the PS3 harddrive.

I think we only have 7 ppl playing CoD (... BUT all are loving it and wanting to sign up for Crucible), so I am agreeing with Chili here on the idea that limiting players, etc. may not be such a good idea for so new a game.

Just bought a PS3 and COD4 this past weekend ... will be playing for the first time today!
-
Yeah and then when I saw PSP, I was disappointed! :'(

Good job, JyK

Beautiful baby, King -
I believe that song was originally a cadence call. (Is that how you say it??) HippieDude's first flash sig he ever made has that song (it plays on rollover). Too bad y'all don't allow flash sigs around here!
-
LOVE IT! Although, I don't like the fact that they changed the song.
