1. Welcome to our first blog post from Urgent Fury headquarters. We are going to use this blog to keep the community informed on what we are working on here. We will occasionally post up some reviews or opinion pieces but mainly it will be Urgent Fury updates. When Urgent Fury started back in the Socom days, it was an exclusive invite only community. First you had to run into and play with a clan that was already a member and then you would be invited to go through a selection process called Hell Week. The landscape changed over the years and instead of an exclusive community, we made it a bit easier to be a part of the community. However to this day the Scenario based TacMap events continue to be by invitation only. There are several reasons for this including limited entries and clans will invest their time and attention into them knowing they are part of an event with such limited access. The brain child of original creators @TOW-19 and @SNIPER the Scenario Based TacMap Tournament took clan battles and leagues to a new experience. Suddenly you found your clan having to decide which clan was the best to attack and prepare for defending. Our last TacMap was POW II for Black Ops II, the second iteration of Prisoners of War adding another layer on top of the TacMap. Not only did you attack and defend, if certain parameters were met in a match, you could capture a POW from your opponent and take them out of the event. Every TacMap Tournament is unique to the game and story. The maps and modes each have a purpose, there are unique twists and turns in each event. Our next TacMap in development will be for America's Army Proving Grounds on PlayStation 4. In November we started our selection league called Urgent Fury Boot Camp. While our first season only garnered 9 clans, Season 2 has proven to us that there is a competitive community strong enough to sustain a 13 week TacMap. Yes 13 weeks, and in reality they have gone much longer than that. We proudly share our experience in a TacMap that had to be ended after over 30 weeks because we could not be eliminated out of our last territory. The staff tried everything, the other two clans tried everything, but we would not give up. So the stalemate formula was added to bring the event to an end and finding the final champion. What will the next TacMap have in store? You will just have to wait and see... We will be announcing very soon and remember TacMaps are an invitational only event. To be considered you must have completed a Season of UF Boot Camp with out withdrawing or being removed. Winners of each Season are guaranteed entry as long as they live up to our motto "Win with Honor, Lose with Dignity".
2. Have you been looking for an established clan that is into respectful, clean and friendly gaming? Well we are currently looking for gamers who can share our beliefs of respecting each gamer and enjoying gaming with clan mates who aren't just PSN friends, but have become a close band of brothers and sisters. We currently are recruiting for Battlefield 4 players on both PS3 and PS4 systems and have been an organized clan since 2003. With almost 200 members of cBF we are looking to get our clan ready for future BF4 tournaments. We also have strong showings by other clan members on COD, SOCOOM, and many sports games. There is always a good clan mate to play with. If your interested visit us at www.clanbluntforce.com. We are currently only accepting mature individuals over 18 years of age. Look forward to seeing you on the battlefield!
3. Long time no see everyone. I know we have grown to a point of a ghost town as of the last couple of years but we have not gone away. So here's where we are today. Over the last 6 months or so we have been working with a new developer to create a new tournament system called the WarZone. This system will contain leagues, ladders and tournaments. Originally we were not going to have ladders, but the staff felt it was a good way to get teams playing first. Give you guys a system to get together and compete on your own terms and track your stats. No we are not trying to become MLG or anything, we just want to give you the tools to meet up with like minded gamers and compete on PlayStation. We will launch hopefully this week once a couple of tweeks are completed by the Developer. Our list of titles will include World of Tanks, Destiny, Rocket League, Rainbow 6 Siege, Call of Duty and TitanFall 2. Please feel free to suggest any other games on PlayStation that you would like us to add! Though the forums have been pretty much dead, with the launch of the WarZone, we do anticipate the forums to start picking up again. So with that said we are upgrading our TapaTalk experience to our own Urgent Fury Community App. This App will be submitted to Apple and Google this week and takes up to 2 weeks to be published. You will have complete access to the forums on your mobile devices and tablets. And it is free! Hope to see more of you guys playing and stop by when we are streaming www.twitch.tv/urgentfury and throw us a shout.
4. As many have noticed it has been quite stale here for the last year between the unfortunate issues with the Chicago event last year, the overall lack of games and most clans being split across platforms (PS3/PS4). So with that being said I think it's time to let you guys in on what we have been doing and what is here to come. First of all to all of those that have stuck by our side from the community and our Staff members (Dis, Money, Cntry, Doc, Guillermo and Sierra) we are eternally Grateful. It is this core team that has kept the fire lit here at UF and will be the driving force for the next phase in Urgent Fury's progression. Chicago Update Let's get this one out of the way first because it is one of the most important. Many of those following this have seen that I am finally after almost 4 years of lack of work changing industries and going back on the day job grind. What this means is that I am personally paying out the winnings for Chicago. Now this is not all going to happen at once, I will have to pay chunks at a time. I officially start working the first week of September, so I will not see my first paycheck until late September. I have picked up a pretty good paying job in the oil field and hope to have everyone paid within a couple of months or so. Do not take that as a hard date, it's an estimate based my pay rate and my schedule given to me. We are going to pay the teams in reverse order so that I can get more paid quickly. The first place team will be the last paid not only because of the amounts but also because members of that team are the ones responsible for our site, paypal and financial accounts being hacked and attacked. Even though many express that we should not pay them after all that, I would rather get them the winnings and they will never be welcome at one of our events again. I will continue to update the post dedicated to the Chicago event as more info comes. Giveaways We have been doing a ton of giveaways this summer thanks to our friends at Naughty Dog, Pop Cap, and more. Friday we will draw the winner for The Legendary Destiny Giveaway and Monday for the The Shooters Get Weird Giveaway. We also have given away several copies of The Last of Us Remastered. Expect to see continued support and giveaways via the PunchTab Contest App and on our live streams at Twitch. Major Overhaul Inbound Look guys we know 99% of the community has hated the site layout, vbulletin and our attempt to get a system to better track war stats. With that being said over the next few weeks we will be converting to Invision Power Board. We are doing this for several reasons. First and foremost design wise it is much easier to work with and the site design will be much more appealing when complete. We are bringing in Dan who helped with the original SOF Studios design to help with the page and skin designs. Our graphics team is working on an updated look on UF as well. This will be more inviting to PlayStation Players as they visit Urgent Fury for Competition and other activities. One of the many additions will be a Live Streaming portal where members can share their streams and watch other streams from community members as well as our featured streams by developers, PlayStation and Partners. We are adding a revamped video gallery from what we have now. Inadub over at Happy Thumbs Gaming will be featuring their content as well as a few other of our friends. Community Members will be able to submit videos as well for everyone to enjoy. With this conversion, we will no longer have a system to track wars for the time being. Next year we will focus on working with a developer to design a system exactly how we want it to schedule and track leagues, tournaments, etc. We want to build this right so that once launched, every user will be able to showcase what events they played in and how they did. Clans will have full on stats and we can keep an on going leaderboard for those teams and clans competing at Urgent Fury. We have not forgotten about the complaints about the ads. While the ads have covered over half of our monthly costs for the server, many still do not want ads. We get it, we really do. We are going to continue to offer a way for you to remove the ads. IPB has a built in e commerce system that will let you support UF without the pesky ads. The rate will be the same we have now which is $2 per month or $20 per year. We have had several take advantage of this and it will be available day one of the new site launch. We are also offering direct payment now, PayPal is not required. We will however still offer PayPal as an option. All content from the current site will carry over and we will be reorganizing everything before bringing the site online. This will include archiving sections, consolidating some forums and having dedicated forums for the games we will be offering competitions for. Based on the Conversion process, your passwords will not have to be reset either. The Future of Urgent Fury Many are wondering where are we going from here? Well we have a pretty small set of goals, some hefty, some simple but all with one outcome. Our focus for the remainder of the year will be on Destiny and possibly COD: Advanced Warfighter. Cntry and Money are working on a Battlefield 4 event now that the support for it is there. We have a pretty good size group that wants to play this so we are going to give it a shot. Our primary focus will be league style play similar to the good old UF: Black days with an ongoing monthly event for teams to compete in and smaller tournament events built around the same games. Our Live Streaming has been ramped up with the help of a whole new streaming team and we have a few other surprises in store. We will bring back live events in the future but for now our only plans will be at PAX South in San Antonio at the end of January 2015. So to sum it up, once again thanks for all that have stood by Urgent Fury through our trials and tribulations and here is to a bright future. We hope you guys will enjoy what we have in store this fall and welcome many of the new faces coming.
5. D-Jay

Hey!

Hello, all! I'm D-Jay and currently play on the PS4. A little bit about me, well, I first started playing online gaming when the first SOCOM came out and been through many competitive sites such as gamebattles and socomzone. I've heard about urgent fury when it first started but never really got deep into it with any clan. But now I felt it's the right time to since I may be starting up a new clan with friends pretty soon. Just had a few questions. Will there be any battlefield 4 ladders/tournaments anytime soon? I'm not really looking forward to do clan battles on GB (gamebattles) so I was just curious as to what is going on nowadays on Urgent Fury. Is it still very active on here? Thank you for taking the time and sorry if my intro was rushed.
6. So, one thing we have been missing around here is some competitive type games... that is all about to change! Destiny COD Advanced Warfare BF Hardline Driveclub Rainbow Six Siege Got Guns (This is a fun free to play game) These were just a few that are now on our radar for tournaments in the future... I hate to say there was not really anything in the 3rd person shooter options shown at E3, but Destiny will be our top pick along with COD AW. Battlefield we are anticipating will still not have private servers at release so we will probably write that one off. Rainbow Six Siege is going to be another one to look out for, we had a good 20 min discussion with the powers to be about the requirements needed to be able to use the game and they were very positive about meeting the needs. This one is 5 v 5 and a ton of fun.
7. Cheers UF! Just trying to get a general consensus on competitive gaming..ala clan vs. clan tournaments and leagues. With so many titles out there to choose from and the different consoles battling for gamer's attention is there still a large interest from clans around the interwebz? Is CoD still a heavy hitter among clans for doing battle?

9. Here's a little more food for thought. ESports is here to stay and despite the trials and tribulations experienced by players, casters, spectators, developers, publishers, sponsors, organizers, even the media, (ain't that a mouthful) people are still plugging away at it. They are still trying to find a model that makes all of the above work together to produce a consistent reliable model that meets the needs of all of the above. In some circles it seems as though everyone is familiar with professional gaming/eSports, there are hundreds of thousands if not millions of people interested in it. Step outside of those communities though and it's almost a complete unknown. Millions of gamers across the the various game genre's competing for one kind of slot or another in professional gaming, and still that's actually a small percentage. But you know what, it keeps growing. Despite the fact that there is no one keeping records, I mean historical records, the kind of things you find in Baseball, Football, or Basketball. It's still growing. There's a lot missing, things are disappearing as organizations and their websites fold, are reborn, and new ones pop up. Competitive gaming has been around for decades and much of the information about the earlier tournaments and players competing in them is either lost, or it becomes a major project to piece it all together. More than likely it's to late to find it all. There are a lot of things that can be done to make eSports better, or offer a solid path to professional play, and much of that simply does not exist today. Of course I have my own ideas about that and that's what I'm looking at, and that's what I want to hear ideas about. More importantly I want to find others that want to make this happen as well. Anyone else? Here's a little MIT video that sort of puts it into perspective.
10. We are HavoC Gaming! Yes the "C" is intentionally capitalized. That aside, if you are ready for a clan that will treat you like a brother or a sister, then we want YOU on our team. To us: a family is a group of people who help each other be the best they can be, which means we are competitive as well. Outside of the game, we are friends, making our bond as a clan stronger. Don't think you have what it takes because your KDR is horrible? Think again. We are looking for friendly team players who know how to have fun. If you want to improve, we can help you. But if you're a player who lives to win, we have a section dedicated for full out competitive play. Our members are diverse in play style, competitiveness, and capabilities. You'll miss out on a huge opportunity if you don't apply, so do it now! You won't regret it! We are currently accepting Call of Duty Black Ops 2 and Battlefield 3 players on PlayStation 3. Here's what we have to offer: ~ Active Leaders (You can almost touch them.) ~ Rank System (There will always be someone to help you out online.) ~ Sponsorship Opportunity (Kontrol Freak and ASTRO, know what I am saying? Everyone loves discounts and free stuff.) ~ Gamers from around the world. (That's right Ladies, guys with HOT accents. Guys this may not apply to you so much. Sorry.) ~ Competitive Tournaments/GB/MLG ~ Maintained, organized forums (Did I mentioned most of our communication is here?) ~ Advancement opportunities (Strive to be your best.) ~ Fun, Family Community (Complete with a pet. Okay, maybe not.) However, we have a limited set of requirements: ~ Must be 16 years or older. ~ Preferred that you own a mic. (Communication is key when getting to know each other.) ~ Must remain active on our site. (We have put countless hours to provide an outstanding website and it is where clan communicates.) ~ Must be a Team Player (This is important for every role, not just for Competitive players.) ~ Must have a good attitude. (Don't let bad games get to you.) ~ Must to be okay with vulgar language. (Part of being mature. Some of us can't manage to censor ourselves in time all the time.) http://www.havocgamingclan.com/forum.php Haven't applied yet? Better click that link then. Have questions? Feel free to ask.
11. so I spent ayear working in north Dakota, with no internet and only single player gaming.didn't have a lot of activity with my own clan, and even less here. now that Ihave full time access, and trying to get my clan back over to urgent fury, imgot a few questions to help me clarify things within my own clan. 1. Is there any way to collapse all the ribbons and stuffsurrounding the posts? If someone posts one line or two, the post disappearsbetween all the shit on top and all the shit on bottom. I hardly notice anycontent. 2. It seems that there is a lot of cancelled tournaments dueto clans being banned or lack of participation. Is there any really active oldschool clans left here? 3. Reading the P.O.W. rules, it says you were bringing backthe concept cuz of the success of the first one. But then you added all thelittle breakouts and stuff. Did that really help? I kinda liked the old watereddown version myself. 4. The racing league section is still up, but has beenpretty much inactive for over a year. 13. I am a competitive player for call of duty. Looking for a clan who is talented, competitive, and cool group of players. I'm a very good player and can bring a lot to the team. I'm 17 years old if that matters. Looking for a group who compete in tournaments and such. Message me if your clans is interested. I can bring a new level to any clan. I'm a slayer and objective player also known as a hybrid I will do what ever I need to do to make sure we get the win. I play all game modes so I can be competitive in any game mode. I prefer core but can play hardcore if needed.
14. Shadow Ops has been a clan since early 2002 competing in many tournaments over that time period. Our last UF tourney we took part in was BlackOps1 and we were able to pull out a win in the Tac Map. Currently we are looking to prepare ourselves for the next UF Tac Map but we know we are short on members. We have about 15 heads strong right now and would like to see about 20 strong members that are online often enough to help us in a tournament, and are good at following directions and playing as a team. While a high K/D is awesome, and something we definitely like, it isnt a main factor for us in deciding our recruits. We want good people, fun to talk to on mic, great presence on our forums, and cares more about the team than your actual personal accolades and stats. If this is something you think you would fit in well to, please throw in an App at: http://www.ShadowOps.org The Application can be found under the "Apply" tab at the top of the page. After you put in an App, please create an "About Me" thread in the "Interested In Joining SHO" section so we can get to know you a little bit better. And please send friend requests to members on our Roster, so we can get some games in with you. We have a pretty strict requirement of 18+ age limit, however there have been exceptions. Thank You.
15. In late 2011 we retired the Ranger program, at the time with all that was going on the program lacked the attention needed to be successful. We have spent the last year getting Urgent Fury on track with tournaments and now its time to recruit some new Rangers. If you are interested in becoming a Ranger, click here and fill out this form . Be sure to explain why you would be a good Urgent Fury Ranger. It is important to note that if you are staff, moderator, admin, owner, etc of another tournament site you will not be considered to join the ranger team. This will be a very small exclusive team of Community members dedicated to help Urgent Fury grow and interact with the community. What is a Ranger. For us this statement is not unlike what a UF Ranger is. We will “lead the way” in Urgent Fury’s commitment to increase the membership and promote the ideas and offerings of our community. UF Rangers LEAD THE WAY! Hurahhhh!!
16. Many have speculated, but it is now official: After an illustrious history in which 8 championships and countless victories were achieved, the Uprising has closed it's doors. In recent months we had undergone some cosmetic changes, with MikeJaxon stepping down as leader. Jax remained on as a member, until resigning from competitive clan gaming in January due to the grind therein. The truth is that many of us felt the same as he did. We were just tired of the countless hours of practicing, preparing, and overall strenuous requirements of competitive gaming. We wanted to get back to being a family and just enjoying each other's company online. With Jax's resignation we decided to undergo a change to a new clan. The Uprising was his and it would feel weird to continue on without him. I can say without question that he was the most involved and instrumental leader to a clan's success I have ever been near and later, a part of. With the change, we also decided to become a casual clan. Just fun, family, and friends enjoying being online with each other. Some members were not ready to remove themselves from the competitive realm and we FULLY respect their decision to go another direction. With the change over, myself and Exile decided to promote 3 men to lead with us who have stuck with this family for many years, Arcs, Immersive, and ZTailGunner. I myself remember long ago reading Undertow's retirement post, containing reasons similar to Jax's. I said to myself (a young lad at the time in gaming terms), that'd never be me, very naively thinking I'd be playing tourneys until I was old and brittle. Or basically to Jax's age haha (j/k)! The truth is life happens and you find gaming to be less and less important, though the relationships will never dwindle in that respect. I still treasure the friends, family, and memories I have shared in my 10+ years of online gaming, but I too am just tired of it all competitively speaking. When I have time to game, which will be increasing to normal, I want to just enjoy the company of my guys, shoot the shit, and zombie out online. Without further ado, as I've written far too many long posts lately, I want to announce to the community that [apoX] Apocalypse Gaming has been born! We are a gaming family here with the intent for the foreseeable future of being just a casual clan. That doesn't mean that we won't strive for victory in any objective we face, merely that we will not be partaking in the competitive aspect (tournaments, ladders, etc). We are looking for active players who want to win and are down to earth, good people. Check us out at www.apoxgaming.com. Fill out an application if you are a like-minded individual, who just wants to get back to the roots of gaming to have fun with friends in a family atmosphere.
17. Head over to the POW II Information Center to find out how each room will be set up. We will add The Great Escape Settings after we launch... it has some surprises that we are not quite ready to share yet. Applications are now open and it is never too soon to apply, remember we have 4 different thresholds: 8, 12, 16 or 20 teams. We did have an application come through this week from a team with only 3 members, before you apply be sure to read the rules as well as the application itself... if you answer no to questions like if your rep can report your wars within 12 hours, you will not be considered for the event. TacMap tournaments are an exclusive invite only event. All that apply may not be invited, and if we do not have 8 suitable clans we will not run the event.
18. The Unfallen is currently recruiting for mature players, we will be playing in many UF ladders and tournaments to come. Come check out our site and feel free to shoot it up with us our doors are always open. http://www.clanunfallen.com/forum Sincerely Cmdr Hooli-

20. I have a friend who's PS3 clan is legit, but doesn't know about these "other places" where they dont have to deal with MLG/GB bullsh*t. 1. Is UF still legit like that.? 24. Hello everyone. I was wondering if UF did tournaments for COD WAW? I've been searching around the site for a few days now and haven't seen anything about it. I know IW versions of COD is much more popular than Treyarch, but I always thought WAW was a great platform for competing in tournaments. Also, I know this is a little early, but are there plans to do tournaments with the next COD game by Treyarch? Thanks ;D
