Yea, everything seems to be fine now, I got the podcast uploaded. I tested the speed again and my upload is up to 498 from 35 yesterday which is a lot better but compared to the download speed it's still low. Is this normal? Can anyone with a Road Runner service test their connection for comparison? I thought I had read somewhere that Road Runner or some ISP was thinking of charging extra to people that download a lot of stuff as a test which sucks balls but I can understand the downloading part but why charge for UPLOADING...?

Can any of you techies out there give me some tips or help with my connection? I tested it on speedtest.net and my download speed seems ok, but my upload speed is horrible. That's why I couldn't upload the podcast. Is that because of my ISP? I use Road Runner cable. Here are my results:

I must apologize to everyone waiting for the invites, we were going to announce them on the Podcast but I am having some bad connection issues and I can't upload the podcast. I will try and upload it tomorrow after I hopefully resolve my connection issues but as not to keep anyone waiting any longer...EVERYONE that submitted an application for either tournament is INVITED. Only the top contributors at the Official Socom Blog will be selected. They are on the lookout for people with an "intense knowledge" of all the previous Socom games and can demonstrate leadership in the message boards and comments section. Also, there is a new rss news feed widget on the main page of the UF site (right side column under the Dv8 banner) that is linked to the new Socom blog. It will display the newest news from Socom.com, just click to go to the site and read the latest news.

Lol! I'd do that too. One of the things I liked doing in San Andreas was creating a mass car pileup on the freeway. I'd set a "road side bomb" (satchel), actually about 20 of them...lol on the side of the road and set it off when a big group of cars was going by. Then the other cars that were racing by would crash into them and the explosions would cause a chain reaction. And of course having sex with hookers and then shooting them and getting my money back...lol! -

I liked all of them and I do think that San Andreas was the best one because it was the newest in the series and the playable area was bigger. For me what makes it so exciting is the whole open ended gameplay and being able to go anywhere you want. The bigger the better and GTAIV seems like it's going to be a HUGE area. That's the appeal to me, the freedom to explore a detailed virtual world and complete missions whenever I want to advance the story or unlock new areas. But to each his own. If you didn't like San Andreas then you probably won't like GTAIV, it's just a matter of taste. Just like some people hated Vegas 2 and other liked it. So what was it about GTA 3 that you liked that San Andreas or Vice City didn't have? To me the newer ones just kept improving upon the older ones with bigger cities and better graphics. -

I can't wait until this game comes out either. That map looks freakin' HUGE! Tomorrow (Thursday, March 27, 2008) Rockstar will release the final GTAIV trailer before the game launches on April 29, 2008.

I bought it because I'm a huge Lost fan but that game isn't worth a buy. I beat it fairly quickly because I cheated. I used an online walkthrough because there are some parts that piss you off when you can't figure it out plus those little timed sequence/math questions.......ugh....... The graphics are okay, the music/sound effects are great, story is okay (nice ending twist though...wonder if it has any relevance to the actual series). Most of the time you are just running around talking to characters or running away from the smoke monster. The dark cave levels pissed me off. Overall, I'd give it a 5 out of 10 and that's JUST because I'm a fan. Otherwise I'd give it a 3. After you beat the game you really don't want to play through it again, there's no incentive to do so anyway, so it has 0 replay value. I'm selling my copy back to GameStop.
