"why Ike....whatever do you mean?" A little "Tombstone" there? I REALLY gotta watch that movie again. "Oh I'm sorry.....I forgot you were there...........................you may go now." LOL
-
I don't get it..... :-\
-
Have I recently spanked you?? Did I get any pleasure out of this event that I don't recall? LOL
-
All clans should re-check the schedule as 4 scheduling errors have been fixed. The schedule, as it's posted now, is now correct. Good luck in the rest of the week, everyone.

I don't know why.....I DON'T know why.....but every time I watch this video, I crack up at this kid. My friend sent it to me with the joking manner that this kid sounded like a dumb ass....and he might be.....but I just thought he sounded like a 4 year old Forrest Gump.
-
I'm a true blue (and orange) Bears fan.....but I don't know if we have the most "respectful" team out there. There's been PLENTY written, especially by Chicago writers, about the Bears' seemingly bountiful tolerance of bad behavior in our players. It just depends on the player and his output which dictates his punishment by the Bears.....which is not a role model for ANY type of penal system. Lance Briggs.....probably intoxicated, crashed his exotic car in the expressway, abandoned it and then came up with some bullshit stories to cover it up. Community service........that he's been BALKING on. Tank Johnson.....pretty much holding a third world country's military arms in his house with kids running around and drugs laying about.....and they gave him a second chance. That second chance resulted in him involved in an altercation where his friend dies. Ced Benson.....dumbass gets caught drinking on a boat (of which the "witnesses" who stated he was otherwise I believe were just his friends about the lake) and THEN weeks later decides to tempt fate and go drinking in the same state AGAIN before driving. And I'm sorry....but his "one or two drinks only?" If you're as BIG as he is, "one or two" will not cause you to drive in a way that gets you pulled over by the police. I mean, it's GREAT that the Bears believe in "second chances" and all.....but you know what I'd like to see? Accountability. I'd like to see focus. I'd like to see these stupid college kids who walk out of the graduation hall and into a lucrative $20+ million dollar deal to start ACTING like they should be paid that much. Whether they like it or not, they're EMULATED in the city in which they play. By adults, by children, by the adolescents who compete harder to get a chance just like these guys did. To some, these guys are larger than life SUPER HEROES on the football field, and all they have to do is prepare to play FOUR HOURS on a Sunday.....I'd like to see players APPRECIATE that money and attention and idealization....and I'd like to see owners and football clubs start to appreciate good character BEFORE they appreciate talent above all. I'd like to sit down on a Sunday afternoon and watch some GOOD MEN play football, not some gun-totin', car-crash-causin', dumbass drunks out on the field running around after a football for a couple hundred thousand dollars a week. I have some respect for the Bears in taking action with Benson here. I didn't think they would, simply because of the money paid to this guy. But I don't think they're the most "respectable" in the league. Hell, they're still trying to get to the "respected" level. They're getting there....they should just follow the NY Giants' format and run their recruits through extensive PSYCH evaluations before thinking about drafting them. That would circumvent a lot of the needless bullshit we keep reading about in the papers when I'd MUCH rather read about progress players and rookies are making during OTAs and Training Camp.

I WANNA say it was either 18 months or 3 years......I'm not too certain, but those two figures came into mind.
-
Hmmmmm.....may have to check them out then.

yes. [urlhttp://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/Skullcandy-Sport-Stereo-Headphones-Black-HH81-SKC04/sem/rpsm/oid/212580/rpem/ccd/productDetail.do[/url] http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/Skullcandy-Stereo-Earbud-Clips-Chrome-HH25-SKC03/sem/rpsm/oid/213156/rpem/ccd/productDetail.do idk how these are/sound/anything, i have the hesh and smokin bud models.. Those are still "in-ear" ones, JRite. Outer-ear ones sit OUTSIDE the ear......
-
Do they have outer-ear ones? Like behind the head wrap arounds for the gym? I do not like wearing in-ear ones, as they're too damaging to the hearing. I always stay with outer-ear. If they have these, then I would go on your recommendation and get a pair.
-
I've seen this brand hanging in stores and such, but I never paid attention to them. Just the name alone made me think they were some Hot Topic junk that mall kids wear. Are these really THAT much better than BOSE? Seriously? How can you say that? Better than Apples'? C'mon..............
-
And during TACMAP tourneys....when would that be? Hmmmmmm?
-
It's alright, Shadow. There's no need to apologize. I knew you didn't mean any disrespect by it. If there's ever anything that anyone in the UF Community wanted to bring to UF's attention, it can always be PMed to me or Sniper. We're always willing to hear about new ideas for the tournament. Never worry about that. It's just when something gets posted like that, and people show a little interest, it can become a beast on its own and then all of the sudden, POOF, you have a tourney being grown and advertised on the UF forum. Again, we know you meant no harm. Don't sweat it.

Well, the first week wars are now finished and the TACMAP and standings are in! Looks like SxB pulls into the lead in the first week with a total of 5 territories, winning both of their defenses as well as both of their attacks. Good job, guys! Dv8, LPK, iLL and 101 are close behind with 4 territories each. We have cBF, +30, \H/ and APC as the critical clans right now with only 2 territories each, with everyone else hovering in between. On the PoW front, it looks like Dv8 were the hungry wolves gobbling up a total of 4 PoWs from AoA and cBs> with SHO right along with them with four of their own from APC and AoA. In fact, there were quite a FEW PoWs taken. Here's a list. And remember, clans, we DO honor the Geneva Convention here at Urgent Fury. In ALL, we have a total of TWELVE players taken PoW in the first week! STONEMOUTH PoW CAMP Currently owned by: [iLL] Prisoners Held 1: [101] silencer-_ 2: [101] Arcs_ DRY SCOTCH PoW CAMP Currently owned by: [sHO] Prisoners Held 1: [AoA] Tri-Cannon 2: [AoA] Klotch 3: [APC] Eagles1fan5 4: [APC] fortysix_and_two BLACK BOX PoW CAMP Currently owned by: [OGC] Prisoners Held 1: [+30] Nadbeard 2: [+30] Apophis_3 IRON HAMMER PoW CAMP Currently owned by: [Dv8] Prisoners Held 1: [AoA] MikeDegrade 2: [AoA] Maxlmus666 3: [cBs>] CeRTiFieD 4: [cBs>] GaBiTrOn Keep it up, everyone. Remember, win with honor, lose with dignity! - TOW

One, I will say that the idea has potential, though coming up with the idea on paper and then implementing it is something completely different. Good luck on it, though. As for what we think: 1: I'm sorry, but I had to delete everything that was written up top there in regards to the tourney itself. The idea is getting organized to the point where it is forming up to be a tournament idea that's being posted/pimped/advertised about on the Urgent Fury forum. We have a posted rule about that. A member of the UF community PMed me earlier this week in regards to posting up a mini-tourney they wanted to do with those who aren't playing in Riot Act right now....and the thing is, it's not a UF tourney. Anything that detracts from the tourneys going on here, though not necessarily "competitors," per se, are still "tournaments" that are using the boards for Urgent Fury for drafting and advertising purposes....and that's something we don't allow. 2: As for my thoughts on the actual TOURNEY itself...like I said, it's a cool idea. However, I can see a lot of cracks in it that would make for some problems down the road. Thing is, when you're in a CLAN, you have something to lose for non-participation, let's say. You have your clan tag to lose. Many, if not most of the players here are quite emotionally attached to the clan they belong to. Uniformity. Familiarity. They worked hard to get in through their tryout that there is now something to LOSE if they lose sight of not competing for their clan. Now take this league, for instance. With a bunch of people who aren't joining an actual clan, but rather, just some random gaming group that will slip in wars in between their OWN clan's scheduled wars with Urgent Fury (or any OTHER tournament sites that your clan may be involved in other than UF or while you're in UF), this draft league will soon start to eat away at focus or time of a player involved in the drafted league when the player may be needed by his own clan for the "clan-based tourneys." You now may have drafted players, but what MAKES them show up for your scheduled season wars? Fake money? I mean, I know some people will get their rocks off on being the highest-fake-paid player in, say, this community.....we know this because there are people here who actually pay attention to their rank in these games.....but in the end, it's just some figment salary that sooner or later, the player will not care about. Owners will get uptight that someone they spent "money" on won't or can't play, drafted team mates will start to think this player left them high and dry and emotions start running wild....and before you know it, this may start to cause rifts down the line between friendly clans or friendly players. Just my 2-cents in looking at the POSSIBILITIES. Not what I think will ACTUALLY happen, but a potential outcome of what COULD happen. I think the idea bears SOME merit, Shadowboxin, as I see you're putting it together with some structure. But you also need to know who you're catering to. I think this idea would be excellent as its own vehicle, set apart from others, with its own website and what not, and run by you. But again, that brings this all back to this being a tourney that cannot be advertised here. BUT, you should also realize that there would be some leaders here that would not appreciate a loner-based tourney out there that could detract their gunners' attention from their own clan activities. Your tourney would almost be ideal for those who don't WANT to be a part of a clan on ANY game (though in a sense, for a lone gunner, his drafted team would end up being his clan in one way or another), but to be set as a service for those players who ARE in a clan....well, I just see some people liking it, and then some people really NOT liking that their gunner is liking it. See what I'm saying? As someone who runs a tourney here, I would urge you to look further into this and flesh it out. Not just the "cool" stuff in there, but also the negatives....because you need to work around those negatives. I've given you some of the potential negatives above. There are probably more. But fine tune the positives and the negatives.....get ready to present it through avenues that allow you to advertise such a thing....and then, finally, get ready to lose a LOT of your life's time running it. I speak from experience here, Shadow. :'( Running a tourney isn't just about presenting a cool idea and letting it run on its own. Day to day problems, questions, squabbles, tinkering, technical missteps, more problems, naysayers and simply those that would just like to make your life a living hell. Again, I speak from experience here, Shadow. LOL I hope you don't take the deleting of the posts negatively. We're not trying to snuff you out, per se. Like I said above, I think the idea has some merit and you should look into it. Our mentality here is just that UF never advertised on other tourney sites...we built this slowly but honestly on our own work and with the help of word-of-mouth from those clans who really liked what we were doing here. We just think that others should do the same as well. If you decide to do something like this, good luck with it. And again, presenting a tourney to the populace necessitates you taking EVERY available inch of your time in making sure you know how to approach all the positives and negatives that this particular TYPE of tourney may present. Unlike UF, which is very clan friendly and motivates and pushes solid team/clan effort and activity, this fantasy draft league type of thing promotes solidarity. You'll have a "team," but a team comprised of a bunch of people who are "paid" differently, from different clans and, also, who are taking time away from their "primary family" to go play in someone else's because they have pixelated fantasy bucks. There's the potential for some discomfort. Just give everything I've said some thought. And again.....good luck with anything you decide to move forward with.

It always sounds enticing to potentially move to a new shooter when people start praising one (though on this thread, there's about an equal amount of positive and negative reviews), but I have always been a one-shooter player, not a player that can go between 2-3 different military shooters. Just the type of person I am. There may be some APCers who may try this, but as for the possibility of moving a whole clan there, we will probably take a pass. I think CoD4 will satisfy the gaming blood lust enough for us until Confrontation comes out later this year. Looking too much towards that to even think about another military shooter. And CoD4 is doing a good job in satisfying the craving. I do, however, want to check out the demo that I downloaded last night for BF.

I use Buffalo. Not a lot of people have heard of it, but I've been using the same one now for about 4-5 years and it hasn't let me down.
-
Again, it's something we WOULD consider...and yes, we would of course take Confrontation's release into consideration. Then again.....the hard part of THAT is anticipating, not the release date of the game, but the ACTUAL release of the game.....cuz y'know......."SOCOM"................ LOL
-
I don't think you need to take it that far, Skipper. King Junk's post here was for a good reason and cause, and there was nothing wrong with the way he posted it up. The whole "demand" issue didn't even need to be made an issue. Hey, if there's a demand here by the clans and it is a sound idea, then we'll always look into it. No need for the off-handed jab.

LOOK AT THE SMILEY FACES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ;D Don't worry. I got the joke.

We would LOVE to, but clan numbers wanting to play SOCOM: CA here at UF do not necessitate a TACMAP tourney. You show us 16-20 clans playing SOCOM here at UF that want a TACMAP tourney, and we'll make it happen. Otherwise, we're going to only run Black tourneys until the new SOCOM comes out.

This will be scheduled for CoD4.

Don't know what to think of this. I think this may, sadly, be typical nowadays....not just of shallow celebrities, but of typical, everyday people now. Where everyone is just looking out for number one and jockeying for opportunity, fame and money wherever it is attainable, no matter who or what suffers. Here is the link to the written report of the convo where Nick Hogan is talking about potentially using his incarceration as a spring board to his new reality series career.....never much minding about the kid he's paralyzed for LIFE from the drunk driving accident: http://www.cfnews13.com/News/Local/2008/5/28/hogan_jailhouse_phone.html Here's the official police records of the offense, I believe: http://www.aolcdn.com/tmz_documents/0603_nick_hogans_wm.pdf
