Hey everyone.... There are some new face lifts over on the UF website. 1: Head to http://www.urgentfury.com to check out the new RONIN TOURNEY. Sign-up section will be up tonight. This is Urgent Fury's newest tourney......with the prize being TWO copies of pre-ordered SOCOM: CONFRONTATIONS for the PS3! 2: Also on the website is our newest section, DOSSIERS, which you can find on the left side nav bar. This is replacing the barely-used CHALLENGE section. DOSSIERS will feature two new UF Community players every 1st of each month. You could be next! 3: And lastly, the newest submission to the UF BLOG, also found on the left side navigation bar, is up. The Blog will be heavily used from this point onward, and there will be a NEW ENTRY each and every 1st and 15th of each month. Get on it! We hope you like the new additions to the UF website and we hope we see a lot of applications for the RONIN tourney. If there is enough success on this one, then Urgent Fury will be very tempted to make UF: RONIN as much a recurring tourney as UF: Black or UF: Crucible, with a prize offered each and every time to the winner! ENJOY! And since Cmdr. Fury couldn't say it for us...... "KEEP YOUR FEET WET AND YOUR POWDER DRY! YIIIIPEEEEKAAIIIYAY! (ugly Tow addition)"

I'll assume this is a definite YES and I will add you to the list. And yes, the beer(s) are still on. ;D
-
Well then there's your perfect explanation! He'd rather co-own a junkyard than sit back and watch clouds and rain! LOL

Great! You've been added to the list. Looking forward to meeting you.

These are all ACTUAL confirmations for the Aug 2nd UF meet. When the time is closer to August 2nd, I will PM all individuals that are listed as definitely coming a cell phone number that they can call in case they are having trouble finding everyone else. It will be a disposable cell phone with a number we'll use just for the upcoming meet. That way, no one has to worry that the "party" will leave them behind. If you wish to be included in this list and you KNOW you will be attending (no maybe's) then please post so in this thread http://www.urgentfury.com/uf_forum/index.php?topic=9221.0 and your name will be added here. __________________________________________________________________________________________ 1: [uF Creator] Undertow 2: [uF Creator] Sniper 3: [APC] Tool Minion 4: [APC] Primemeat 5: [APC] Strick 6: [APC] Macoo 7: [APC] Merlin 8: [APC] Diezel 9: [\H/] IrshZ28 10: [*S*] Prane 11: [sHO] MAVERICK3324 12: [sHO] G00SE-11 13: [APC] Hush- 14: [*S*]STR8_HATE 15: [101] Smokeosama (God willing) 16: [*S*] Darkskye

Hello, everyone.... A while ago, we announced that Sniper and I will both be in Chicago the first weekend of August. On August 2nd, we're opening up our afternoon/evening to meet any members of the UF Community who will be in Chicago that day, as the APC meet will be that weekend with plenty of gamers already convening. You will not only be seeing Sniper and I, but also about 6-10 other APCers as well. The initial thread can be found here: http://www.urgentfury.com/uf_forum/index.php?topic=8056.0 What we're asking you NOW is this: PLEASE REPLY HERE -ONLY- IF YOU -KNOW- YOU ARE COMING ON AUG 2ND. We're running a tentative plan to just meet in the middle of downtown Chicago at Portillo's (hot dog/ burger/ beer place) in the afternoon and then probably migrate to a bar later in the evening. HOWEVER, if we get enough definite "I AM COMING" from members of the UF community here, as many of you seemed to lean towards, then I will make arrangements to potentially rent out the back room of a bar of UF's choosing so that we will have a private room for this UF get-together. But again, we need DEFINITES here. Otherwise, we will simply just make a definite time that we will meet at Portillo's and let the day/night carry us from there. We are looking forward to meeting all the UF community players that may be making the trip up/down/over to Chicago. SO AGAIN, please do not reply to this thread UNLESS YOU KNOW YOU ARE ATTENDING. With the UF meet exactly one month away, we figure by now community members here have a good idea whether or not they'll be showing up. Anyone who shows up will most likely be caught in some pics that we'll be posting up here on the Urgent Fury website as well. SERIOUS replies only, please, so don't make us do constant clean-up with unnecessary posts. Thank you - TOW

LOL You are such a downer on your OWN thread.....LOL

Does this mean it will be EASIER to add/send friend invites to people you meet online WHILE you're playing the game? They should have arranged this from the start, in my opinion. The "PLAYERS MET" thing is cool, but you still have to log out of your game in order to send it and, if you keep playing through the night, his/her name might get bumped off of it.

I remember playing Diablo II on the PS2(?). One of the few games that kept my attention long enough with a good story that I wanted to finish it.

No kidding, right?

Week four ended with the elimination of two more clans, [odc] and [DsY]. Nice work to both clans surviving a month in UF: Riot Act. There's some stiff competition in this tour and you guys ran face first into it and you survived four weeks. Good run. Week 5 now will see any clans with POW camps with four or more POWs in it looking at a potential Riot Act on their hands as prisoners try and execute their plan of escape....or simply get executed themselves. If any Riot Acts DO occur, the results will be most interesting to see. On one side, you have the defenders who are a unified clan familiar with their skills and game plans. On the other, you have the POWs who, according to the prisoner-takers, were some of the most deadly gunners of the team they were taken from. Who comes out on top? We'll have to see if any Riot Acts occur! Good luck in week 5, everyone. odc....DsY......there's still time to sign up for Crucible-3. And don't forget about UF: RONIN, debuting Tuesday night. WAY TO GO, guys!

We here at Comic Book Resources are very sad to report that artist Michael Turner has died after a long battle with cancer. He was 37. Aspen Comics’ Vince Hernandez told CBR News Saturday morning that Turner passed away Friday night at 10:42 Pacific Time at Santa Monica Hospital in Calfiornia. The news spread quickly at Wizard World Chicago, during what would have otherwise been a riotous night at the hotel bar, the mood suddenly turned somber with remembrances of Turner from friends and acquaintances. A minute of silence will be observed during Wizard World Chicago Saturday afternoon. Turner is an artist best known for his work on books like “Witchblade,†where he got his start in comics, moving on to titles such as “Black Panther,†“Superman/Batman†and his very own creator owned series “Fathom†and “Soulfire†through his publishing company Aspen Comics. A prolific artist, he’s done work for both DC Comics and Marvel Comics, and has provided covers to some of the best-known comics published in the last ten years, including Brad Meltzer’s “Identity Crisis.†In 2000, Turner was diagnosed with cancer -- chondrosarcoma in the right pelvis, which resulted in his loosing his hip, 40% of his pelvis and three pounds of bone. What followed was 9 months of radiation. The cancer has gone into remission and returned multiple times since he was first diagnosed. For anyone who’s met Turner, they’re likely to tell you what a genuinely nice guy he was and how his spirit for life was higher than anyone else they had ever met. Oddly, my path crossed with Turner’s numerous times. We both live in Los Angeles, and on at least five different occasions we would run into each other at clubs or special events around the city. He seemed like the kind of guy who was up for anything and had a great sense of adventure, especially as evidenced by his love and excellence at water-skiing and martial arts. Last year during Comic-Con International in San Diego, I invited Michael Turner out to the CBR Yacht for an interview. He was happy to come out to the boat. His colleague and friend, Vince Hernandez, called me the Saturday afternoon the interview was scheduled to say they were running late, but were on their way. I went to the end of the dock to greet them and there, off in the distance, was Michael, Vince and a friend of theirs walking slowly towards our slip. They were walking slowly because Michael was on crutches, recovering from the latest round of surgeries and treatment. It was a hot day, but there was Michael, making his way to the boat with a smile on his face. His strength of will was truly inspirational. The resulting interview was a wonderfully sweet one. I remember talking with him about his comics, his covers, his health and much more. After the interview he and his crew hung out on the boat for a while, enjoying the calm moment away from the convention with a soda and good conversation. Sadly, that video interview never made it on to the site (not for anything to do with Michael or the content of the interview), but we’ll make sure that video is encoded this week and published in his memory and so that all of you can see what sort of man Turner was. Turner’s fight with cancer was truly inspirational. He fought it with dignity and grace. More details concerning Turner’s passing are forthcoming. Those wishing to send their condolences to Michael Turner's family are encouraged to send them to: Aspen MLT, Inc. C/O Michael Turner 5855 Green Valley Circle, Suite 111 Culver City, CA, 90230 Aspen Comics also encourages anyone wishing to make a charitable donation in Turner’s name can do so to his requested charities, The American Cancer Society or The Make-A-Wish Foundation CBR extends it’s heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of Michael Turner. He’ll be sorely missed.

Don't know if you know this, Nacku....but Michael Turner (artist) died last night, Friday. It's a pretty tragic end to his fight with cancer (I believe). He was no more than 30-35 yrs old. Last year during Wiz World, word got out that Mike Weiringo (artist) died of sudden heart complications that NO ONE saw coming. It was a true shock to the comics world. He was such a warm and friendly person, too. This year, it was Michael Turner, arguably, one of the TOP rated, respected and loved artists of this decade. It was a sad day. I really did love his work. Judging from some sigs here in the past, MANY people, comic fans or not, has some level of affinity or respect for his talent. Let's just hope next year there isn't another one. Some believe things happen in three's. (Oh, and as I can't tell you THE secret you were looking for up top there....I'm feeling a little soft and sentimental tonight :'( ......so I'll give you a hint. Image Central Founders have been the SAME guys since its its inception, even though some have gone to other things. But this weekend, they will be announcing, for the first time EVER.......they're bringing in, by vote, a non-founding comics talent to be a PART of the "founding family" like Lee, Liefeld, McFarlane and all the rest, with voting privs and everything. I'm just not going to spill WHO) Hope that satisfies the curious cravings, Nacku. Good night.

Not a fan of Bluetooth headseats. Sure they can be convenient...but MOST Bluetooth headsets have active talk times of about 4 hours, no matter WHAT the manufacturer says it has, and there are some gamers who think four hours is just a drop in the bucket on a typical night of gaming. Heck, I know APCers who are are 5+ hours every Friday night for the Midnight Mass. And then you have those who FORGET to charge it on a regular basis, and then drain out after 20 minutes. I don't mind the corded headset. I have one with a long enough cord that I'm sitting comfortably back enough.

Well, how aboot you hook a brotha up!! ;D Sorry. I'm an oak.

Yeah, the little mini-message at the bottom of your screen in CoD4 lobbies said that there is a new CoD4 division at Infinityward.com. They're just probably consolidating their fan base into a central location.

Update...... Pre-sales and projected sales of the hot online military shooter, SOCOM: Confrontation, have allowed Sony enough disposable income to erase their multi-billion dollar deficit as well as BUY both Iraq and Afghanistan, thus, erasing major hubs in terrorism. Economic analysts attribute this spike in sales to avid SOCOM gamers, typically calling this game "SO-CRACK." ;D
