Welcome to UF. http://www.urgentfury.com/forumdisplay.php/949-Socom-UF-Confrontation-BLOW-OUT
  13. No way. Like I said, it's chasing that first rush. That first time you were in a war as the last man alive, facing multiple enemies. It was every bit as good as any adrenaline rush I've ever had. Nothing can compete with that. However, if this game has enough of the Socom majic to bring clanmates back together, then, imo, it's a success. Like Viper talked about in the other thread, the friends you made gaming, was the best part of Socom. Logging in on a Friday night, when half your clanmates were tore up, playing until the wee hours of the morning, cracking jokes, talking smack, and all that. THAT is the true essence of Socom as far as I'm concerned. I can't count how many times I've been crying from laughing so hard late at night on those games. Sure, wrecking people in public rooms was always fun, but to me it was the second best part. It's the only reason I still play confrontation, to see my hombre's and have a good time.
  14. Nice vids, DH. I finally got time to watch them. Some very cool pics!
  15. I suppose he is the voice of Socom, the Socom Whiner club. Like you said, every game has it's flaws, and the whiners have always been on Socom. Crying about the M-14, IW-80, hit detection, etc, etc. I personally don't think he is anything but a big crybaby. He acts like S2 was the end all of games. Now I LOVED S2, but it most certainly had it's fair share of issues. We all still played the hell out of it, but it wasn't near as perfect as BW would have people believe. There will never be another Socom 2 for most of us here. A good portion of us got our online cherries popped by that game, and it won't ever be the same. Kind of like chasing that first high.
  16. I personally don't care if she uses my razor. I'd rather that than having a furry woman!! Marauder, you don't mind putting your face in the who ha, but second hand who ha is out of line?
  17. The UFGL team are working on finalizing the re-opening. There is however a new Socom tourney starting in a bit. Check out the announcement here: http://www.urgentfury.com/showthread.php/77372-Urgent-Fury-Presents-Blowout
  18. Chapter 2.5 (Urgent Fury: BLOWOUT) SOCOM: U.S. Navy Seals CONFRONTATION (PS3) Launch Date: February 28, 2011 After witnessing the cold blooded murder of Capt. "Tucker" Barnes at the hands of Sasha Kolov, CENTCOM and Commander Parrish knew that the clock was ticking. And with the passing of each second, any chance of rescuing the other downed pilot & retrieving the vital intel he carried, slipped away. As Parrish and his team pursue Kolov deep into the frozen heart of Russia, Stormkrow and his team, are "Oscar Mike" back to the 'Stan, with orders to investigate a small village in eastern Kabul. Everyone involved also knew that America's current foreign policy didn't allow for this thing to get messy. But, what they didn't know, is that Kolov had only baited his trap. And soon, he would begin ripping apart an already fragile world community. This....is the beginning of the end.... Sign-ups will be up in a few hours!

  21. Since the Sumerians, aliens have been 'documented' by different cultures. Go look around this site, it have some interesting information. http://www.thehiddenrecords.com/clues.php I like looking at both sides of this arguement, and talking to people about it incessantly. I'm still not sure which side I stand on, but it's a fun idea to play around with and research. Maybe we don't see them as often as ancient cultures, because now we have weapons that could harm them!! I really don't know either way, but I like this subject.
  22. That's what I'm doing for next year. Even with a snowblower now, my driveway sucks to plow.
  23. Like I posted on Irish's forums, the only thing that scares the hell out of me are the lack of lobbies. While some of the other things don't seem to be Socom styled, I'm going to wait until I've played it to decide if those other things are deal breakers. Hell after Confrontation, EVERYONE should be excited.
  24. What Crusty said. Plus the first 3 socom games were all about tactical gaming. If you wanted to win, you damn well better play as a team. Sea Snipers made the tactical whiteboards, so clans could pull up images of maps and plan strategies. Just when you thought you knew about every pixel of a map, someone would do something in a war, that changed the gameplay. You could create your own chokepoints, rather than the map dictate what they are. Sniping was a SKILL back then too. IMO, that made a huge difference in gameplay. The fact that anyone can pick up a sniper rifle in confrontation or the COD series and own with it, just kills the options for gameplay strategy. Maybe it's just the fact that alot of guys around here popped thier MP cherry with those games. Either way, other than the shitty graphics(by todays standards), Socom 2 and 3 are still fun to play, if you can get enough non-cheating guys on to play.
