Article about Confrontation and 3 new screenshots

Well, to a degree, CoD4 is like that now, and it seems a lot of Socom players are adjusting to that just fine. I think the Socom version will just be a small adjustment and then everyone will fall into it. -
Hey everyone... UrgentFury.com is now listed up on the new Top CoD4 Sites. The link is now found at the bottom of your page here, right next to the Socom one. We all worked hard and made UF the #1 running website at the Top Socom Sites and we attribute that honor solely to all of you guys, and we appreciate it every day! Now, we'd like to see if we can do the same with UF on the CoD4 Top Sites. We all want to see fresh, new, talented clans populate our Community here in Urgent Fury, and no better way to do that than to get our website set prominantly as the #1 site there. Right now, the site is still young, with only about 15 clan sites found there, but there's no better way to get a jump on the work! We counted on you guys on the first go-around with Socom, and you guys delivered. Can we do the same for UF? If you've got the time, click on the link and rate and review the UF site! We appreciate any help you'd like to offer. - TOW

I would tend to say the BOOK is far better, content-wise, than the movie. People who REALLY liked this movie will be doing themselves a discredit by not reading the book. And please, don't go out and buy the MOVIE ADAPTATION book...LOL....get the ORIGINAL.

Plus, in the book, they TALKED. They would call his actual name like "aww why don'tcha just come on our for a while, Neville." In the movie, they were reduced to monstrous vampire-LIKE creatures. HOWEVER (and excuse me if you guys talked about this already in this thread, I haven't been reading it. I JUST watched this movie as of about 10 minutes ago), it seemed like they were TRYING to establish some type of humanity in the vampires in the movie by having them be directed by the big guy and....and this is stretching it....but I felt as if the big guy had the personal vendetta against Neville because it seemed like maybe the one Neville caught and was trying to cure was the big guy's daughter maybe? Though they didn't really emphasize it, it seemed like while the big guy was trying to crack through the glass at the end, he kept looking at the healing girl on the table as if that's why he was truly trying to get through the glass, though they never put that outright on the table in the film.

Urgent Fury just put in its submission. Just waiting for approval.

Rice makes up a LARGE part of my diet. As I don't eat bread, it's one of the major sources of grain for me. That might also be influenced a little by the Asian in me....LOL

Primary Weapon: Bowl of Honeycomb Secondary Weapon: Milk Perk 1: Bag of Popcorn Perk 2: 2x Chocolate bars Perk 3: Large Jug Water Everything else you guys have said........dumb.

That was eye-opening....and expected.....and sad. But alas....I cannot stop eating my chocolate. However, I can appreciate it more when I gorge myself on it.

Hey everyone.... This is the final call for the deadline on the UF contest for best UF/Socom/CoD4-integrated theme for the PS3! REMEMBER, in order for a good evaluation of your finished submission, we're going to need to see how well it performs in a theme respect, so you need to host it somewhere for download, such as http://www.allps3themes.com or other theme-supporting sites. Make sure that you submission is able to be USED online, not just VIEWED here on the forum. I, personally, have had the pleasure of using one in the past two days and will download the others when the contest is over. We will announce the winners of both the Theme AND the Sig contests in next week's podcast. Hopefully we'll see some late deadline submissions to tighten up the competition! Good luck to all. - TOW

Yeah, and not JUST a 4-wk tourney....but S&D alone will comprise ONE war clans will have in the Crucible.....so I think everyone can get their fill how they like on their own, and the ONE Search and Destroy they play in the Crucible, they can "bend" a little bit.....
-
I don't know why many times we try to answer something, people begin to view it as a "don't question us" mentality or think it will go down that road. And when it's certainly not that mentality, and smoeone merely mentions it as such, like Wiz there, people can instanly latch onto it and think that's really how things work here. You should know this by now and thinking anything but really discredits us as a whole. Listen, guys....it's a NEW game. New to us, UF, anyway. We're trying some things out. Different things. Seeing what fits and what doesn't. It's an evaluation, FOUR week tourney.....I think ANYONE can live with a little change in even their favorite things. I don't understand the small hush over a small crowd when they learn that S&D may be changed for the Crucible. It's not like this is the 13-week tacmap tourney. All of the sudden, people think we're messing with the Bible and don't care about your love of the game or your feelings. And as for asking you to clarify, HTK, you weren't being called to the mat. For the most part, I solely construct the actual rules and game play here in UF, so I value opinions...and sometimes I do try and get into the mentality of the gamer, to see WHY you like things and why you DON'T. It helps UF become better through each and every tourney. I wasn't questioning you.....I was merely asking a question.
-
So let me ask this....from a purely analytical standpoint......if you personally hate respawn because there is no real point in staying alive, and it beats the "whole purpose" of playing the game....then why do you elect to play a game that's pretty much 85% respawn? I think Search and Destroy is the only mode without a respawn, correct?

Stay tuned. ;D

Hey there all you Fury Freaks! This is just a message to wish all of you a very Happy New Year, and this can pretty much act as the hub for everyone's well wishes to everyone else (so we don't have 20 different "HNY" threads up here LOL). 2007 was a HELL of a year for us here at Urgent Fury. We ran our Socom Black and tacmap tourneys from beginning to end without too many hiccups to talk about. We handled a charity tourney that had a donation hitting the St. Jude's Foundation. We handed out a flat panel HD TV to the winners of UF4: PoW. We ran a successful string of Black tourneys that introduced us to SO many great new clans here in UF. We spawned and stayed ahead of a few emulators and imitators out there, so we know we're doing something right! We introduced the brand new website and pushed our tacmap services even higher. We introduced the UF community to Mr. Commander Claymore Fury on the Urgent Frequency podcast! We incorporated a new game, PS3's CoD4, into the UF mix here as we anticipate the launching of the UF Crucible. Sniper and I expanded our UF Staff to make sure that the mechanics of UF are ever-constant! And lastly, we can chalk up 2007 as yet ANOTHER great year that Urgent Fury has existed and played host to SO many great clans, both new and veteran, here at our scenario-based tournament. Sniper and I are amazed and truly happy for all the years we've been allowed to entertain you and your clans for the Socom gaming community. We look very forward to making sure we bring the same level of professionalism and dedication for the upcoming CoD4 tourneys as well as the continued support of Socom. Sniper and I would like to say we knew we were going to remain strong all along, but I would be lying if I said that. We worry and hope, week in and week out, that we have and will continue to be YOUR choice for the best scenario-based gaming experience for both Socom and CoD4, and perhaps that worry and hope continues to make certain that we deliver. Thus far, we can only hope that we have. We leave you with a promise for 2008, and that promise is Urgent Fury will only become BETTER. We set standards for ourselves with every new tour, and with every new tour, Sniper and I promise each other that the next will be better than the last, otherwise, why bother to even do it? Well, we will continue to make that promise to you all. 2008 will not be like any other year UF has existed......it will be BETTER. So from all of us here at Urgent Fury to all of you, those who have come to populate this UF Community, we wish you a most safe and prosperous New Year. May good fortune find you and may friendship, love and security keep you. And by all means.....keep comin' back here to UF for more. We've got many more surprises and lots more action in store for each and every one of you! Sincerely, For Urgent Fury, Undertow - Co-creator of Urgent Fury

Questions are good....... without them people would step back and think enough. I just thought the 2 lives with such short 3 minute rounds was... uh... interesting. Interesting is good.....without it people would just be bored.

Well, We put our crack team of UF staff on it for a night of playing. We balanced all the statistics and the ballistics of one vs multiple respawns. We counteracted any possible variances of wind resistance from all the various maps. We adjusted for potential injuries from controller hand cramps in the suspenseful rounds. We also brought in actuarial experts from France, Iceland, China and Laos for probability clauses. And in the end.....we just figured......what the heck.

There will not be a new Podcast this week. The podcast will most likely return next week. Make sure you check the overhead news fader regularly, as special announcements, including new podcasts, are announced up there.
-
We plan on releasing the winners of the sig contest AND the PS3 theme contest at the same time. And yes, it will most likely be in a podcast. That Cmdr. Fury sho' knows how to read off winners of a contest....and make podcasts and stuff......
-
Hey, that looks pretty funny.
-
It never ends with Wiz. LOL
-
BOY I hope Crucible won't remain a 16-clan eval. tourney.......
