If you would take the time, give this a read and, more importantly, pass this on to others. I found this in Chicago's "Red Eye" paper while I Was at work today. It has to do with two things; ways to improve on the environment as well as cutting down all those pesky junk mail piles that accumulate in your home every day! I read it, and I wouldn't pass it on unless I thought it was worthwhile....for everyone. - TOW JUNK MAIL Consumption - There were more than 105 BILLION pieces of direct mail (junk mail) sent to households in 2006, accounting for HALF of all mail delivered by the US Postal Service. That's up from 66 BILLION pieces of junk mail delivered in 1990. Environmental Impact - The production of junk mail in the U.S. uses 100 million trees annually, and the manufactur and disposal of it consumes more energy than 3 MILLION cars. Some 44% of bulk mail gets thrown away without even being OPENED, and less than 36% of THAT is even recycled. AN ALTERNATIVE - Visit the Direct Marketing Association's website at http://www.the-dma.org for info on how to remove your name from the mailing lists. You can pay just $1 to be put on the DMA's do-not-mail list, but also contact companies directly to remove your name from their lists because not all companies go through DMA. Also, visit http://www.optoutprescreen.com to cut back on credit card and insurance offers. Just you doing the above, though a step in the right direction, won't do too much for the environment, so that's why I'm forwarding this to everyone in my address book. I think it's worthwhile and an easy effort we can all make for some change in the future. Thanks everyone. - TOW

Disciple.....I'm not sure either. Send Sniper a PM and ask him if yours was ever done, or perhaps it was done but never posted. It's an oversight, but should be easily corrected.

TOW-19 replied to STREETSWEEPR1's topic in Playstation
Correct. And for the record, those were not UF-made sigs. Just wanted that to be clear. -
And it's time to lock this abomination now.....
-
GOODNESS.....this thread WAS better off left alone! LOL
-
I believe we should have UF listed up there any day now, if it hasn't been already.
-
Save that money where ya can though. If you know you're eventually getting that PS3....then it's a good move to save some dough on the game.
-
Just know that in that potential scenario, SNIPER'S the whore in all of this. I'm the one that keeps talking him down....LOL
-
LOL.....don't get all upset. Maybe they all checked out your website, were stunned by its magnificence, and simply keeled over before they could respond. I don't think anyone here from UF said you're not welcomed here. So come down from that bridge! Everything's gonna be ok......
-
Hey, I like the whole lot o' ya no matter what you call yourselves. Just glad you're still around there here parts. Good luck on the make-over.

It is a hellspawn of Kingdom Interactive, yes. ;D

Thats the exact map we were playing..... I know you plan on using all the maps so your saying that you'll be sticking with 8v8 on maps like Shipment? And that other small other small one with the statue in the middle..... We never said anything about using "all the maps." We're always concerned about maps that would tarnish the overall experience in a UF war. That's why in UF-Socom tourneys, we tried not to include maps such as Boneyard, lowered the use-count on Citadel, and ALMOST excluded all the Anchorages, even though one somehow sneaked through in UF4.
-
Huh?? LOL We cannot disclose anything further at this particular time. Sorry to shut the door like that.
-
1: PLEASE put your questions regarding tourneys in the public section here, not in the tourney sections. 2: We've tested all these modes out at 8v8 and they were fine. We saw no "lagfests." The only lagfests we ever see is on "Bog" and when an individual PLAYER or host has a bad connection. Otherwise, this is not something we saw during evals.

Well, look on the bright side......Melissa's ok to look at. ;D Stay warm out there, buddy!

"w00t" crowned word of year by U.S. dictionary By Jason Szep Wed Dec 12, 10:31 AM ET BOSTON (Reuters) - "w00t," an expression of joy coined by online gamers, was crowned word of the year on Tuesday by the publisher of a leading U.S. dictionary. Massachusetts-based Merriam-Webster Inc. said "w00t" -- typically spelled with two zeros -- reflects a new direction in the American language led by a generation raised on video games and cell phone text-messaging. It's like saying "yay," the dictionary said. "It could be after a triumph or for no reason at all," Merriam-Webster said. Visitors to Merriam-Webster's Web site were invited to vote for one of 20 words and phrases culled from the most frequently looked-up words on the site and submitted by readers. Runner-up was "facebook" as a new verb meaning to add someone to a list of friends on the Web site Facebook.com or to search for people on the social networking site. Merriam-Webster President John Morse said "w00t" reflected the growing use of numeric keyboards to type words. "People look for self-evident numeral-letter substitutions: 0 for O; 3 for E; 7 for T; and 4 for A," he said. "This is simply a different and more efficient way of representing the alphabetical character." One Web site, http://www.thinkgeek.com, already sells T-shirts with the word "w00t" printed on the front. "w00t belongs to gamers the world over. It seems to have been derived from the obsolete 'whoot' which essentially is another way to say 'hoot' which itself is a shout or derisive laugh," Think Geek said on its Web site. "But others maintain that w00t is the sound several players make while jumping like bunnies in Quake III," it added, referring to a popular video game. Online gamers often replace numbers and symbols with letters to form what Merriam-Webster calls an "esoteric computer hacker language" known as "l33t speak." This translates into "leet," which is short for "elite." A separate survey of words used in the media and on the Internet by California-based Global Language Monitor produced a different set of winners on Tuesday. "Hybrid" took top honors as word of the year with "climate change" the top phrase. Global Language Monitor, which uses an algorithm to track words and phrases in the media and on the Internet, said "hybrid" had broad connotations of "all things green from biodiesel to wearing clothes made of soy to global warming." Runner-up was "surge," based on the "surge" of 30,000 extra U.S. troops deployed to Iraq since mid-June, followed by the word "Bluetooth," a technology used to connect electronic devices via radio waves. "The English language is becoming more and more a globalized language every year," said Global Language Monitor president Paul Payack, noting that this year's list included words also culled from India, Singapore, China and Australia.

We have a winner. LOL MAN, I hope you guys shoot as slow as your uptake on the subtle hints.....LOL.

Yeah, I think someone put up a thread about this earlier, if this is the second installment of the Alien/Predator movie. The trailer looks good......looks less "Alien" (like the first AvP) and more "Predator" (because of the heat/forestry thing they got going on. Looking forward to it. Yes, separate, they were great movies.....but if you're a FAN of both these properties, then you should be ga-ga over these because, in my VERY protective-of-these-concepts opinion, they did a GOOD job with the first. That first alien/predator fight......I creamed myself.
