To any and all UF players who frequent APC's Midnight Mass.... For the last 5 years now....god that's a long time...APC has religiously held its Friday night Midnight Mass every single weekend at midnight. Roughly two hundred and sixty Masses were populated with APCers and friends alike, and the times were always fun. "APC-MidniteMASS" was the name and SOCOM was the game. No more. It has been decided by APC that starting with this evening's Midnight Mass, Mass will be played on CoD4. We are simply making the move that we can SEE many of our clansmen are wishing we would finally make. SO....tonight, 12-28-07 will be the FIRST Midnight Mass on CoD4. It'll be strange not actually seeing a room with "Mass" as its name, but Mass has always been APC, those who comprise it and the fun we have with it all night long. We now bring that tradition to CoD4. I would just like to personally thank all those members from Rogue 7, Stormwatch, 101, +30, TBH and others that always seemed to block off the time every Friday night to make sure they had a seat in one of the longest-running clan traditions I have personally seen, and I'm glad that it was my clan that I saw it from. It's fun playing it up with APCers at the Mass, but it was always a warm feeling to see other clans make sure they got there on time so as to not get blocked out of a full room. If you are on an APCer's friend list, we will be sending out invites for CoD4 play as long as there is room. Stop by if you like, pass it up if you have other action going on. It'll be our first Midnight Mass on CoD4, and we're pretty excited. Sad because we've held the Mass on Socom since......forever, but the Mass is still the same, just the game has changed. Hope to see some of you there. Send US an invite if you're looking to possibly stop by to prompt us to send you one back. Church doors are open....the monks are chanting.......the candles are lit.....let us PREY. - TOW

I think every clan is going through this. We had MANY tough debates and decisions regarding this....and in the end, I think it's just up to the individual clans to figure out what is best for them. Initially, I had instituted a mandatory hard date for APCers to switch over to CoD4. Â We were going to do this after Black IV was finished, ending our run on Socom: CA. Â There were some APCers who were feeling really cornered with this approach, and in the end, my sympathetic side took over. Â Yes, I'd like to have my entire clan on one game, but punishing someone for not having the money to buy a whole new system right now, especially around the crunch of the holidays, isn't a very fair demand at all. Â In the past, making your clansmen buy a GAME is one thing. Â Easy. Â But an entire next-gen system is a tall order. APC's got about 36 members right now and all but about 4 have moved on to the PS3 and, ultimately, CoD4. Â We still hold our Midnight Mass every Friday night back on Socom, playing the Map Packs (readying for the upcoming UF Black IV). Â All other nights, the clansmen play the game they choose. Â Predominantly right now, it's CoD4. I think, in the end, the problem takes care of itself. Â You don't WANT to kick people because they don't have a PS3, and you hate the fact that they're feeling "left out or behind" because their clansmen aren't playing with them, but you should also look at it from YOUR viewpoint as well. Â These clansmen shouldn't feel comfortable "holding the rest back" if that be the case. Â SHOULD an entire clan of 32+ players be FORCED or feel forced to play a game they no longer wish to play simply because of 2-5 other clansmen? Â It's a tough spot, but in the end, the problem presents its own solution. Â Either clansmen WILL go out and get their next-gen system to stay with their clan (surprisingly, about 5 APCers got PS3s in the last 2 weeks to improve our PS3-presence) or they will simply wallow in the low-attendance of the game they're playing now and simply leave the clan or move to another clan altogether that is still faithful to Socom: CA. APC's not abandoning Socom. Â We're just making use of the money spent on our next-gen systems....as EVERY player who bought one has the right and priviledge to do. Â When the next installment of Socom comes out for the PS3, APC will most certainly be there to check it out, most likely making a home there as well. Â But yeah, I have felt the sting and crunch of being a clan leader in this predicament of inbetween-systems, and it's not a happy seat to be in. Â But some should look at the situation as not one guy (the clan leader) trying to make a majority happy at the expense of a few.....rather, some of those players on the chessboard should look at how THEY are impacting the situation in their own clan. Â Do they WANT to be in that clan anymore, and if so, does that desire outweigh the potential hard feelings or small guilt they may have by being one of the few who are creating this rift in the clan? Â Is your clan a SOCOM clan or just an all-around gaming clan? Â Are you members, individually, more important that your clan's focus and drive to move forward with the ever-changing times? Â Too many questions for just ONE man....or even a group of officers, methinks. As I said above, I believe this situation, in ANY clan, can resolve itself. In APC....it's resolving itself. Â Thankfully, it's doing so successfully without too many people being butt-hurt.

I voted no. Having the kill cam on does many good things to improve a player's skill. 1: It shortens their breath when they're inclined to say "that was bullshit" when, unlike Socom, they can finally see where they were shot, how they were shot, and the fact that they WERE shot. I think this is the single most greatest achievement of the kill cam. 2: It shows a player how other, potentially more skilled players, are playing/hiding/approaching. The kill cam doesn't just show the shot only, it shows a brief few seconds beforehand, so you can see his path of travel. 3: It shows you potential hiding spots of killers that you may not have known existed. There've been a few times when, on the kill cam, I say to myself "holy hell, I didn't know you could get there." To someone who has the capacity to learn from their mistakes, and to learn from someone who knows more, that is an invaluable tool to becoming a better player. Having the kill cam OFF can hinder many of these things. And for those that like to say "I hate the kill cam because the person you just killed can run right up to your spot after they respawn and just get a free kill....." well, -I- never like to consider myself a "free kill," so I keep in MIND that there's a kill cam out there. If I'm stupid enough or lazy enough to just lay in one spot all the time, and get killed there for it, I will say that I am to blame for that, not the guy who went to check if I was stupid enough to stay there. There's a great White Stripes song no their recent album called "Cause and Effect." "You can't take the effect....and make it the cause."

Update: Joyner doesn't know when to go off and find a new playground. I just removed a post of his here on the UF forum stating his "return" to UF. He will most likely try and infiltrate a clan in order to particpate in UF. He is the ONLY player that Sniper and I have ever put a hard ban on in regards to removing a player from potential UF contention. He is a self-professed cheater, banned from Socom for cheating, admitting to this cheating, and will do what he can to corrupt what we have here. The kid has a serious hard-on for trying to make like difficult for UF and me in particular. Don't know why...LOL....because he used to be someone ELSE'S headache before he decided to make me his hobby. Anyway, to help any clan here who may inadvertanly recruit or accept his application, here is the most recent info we have from this morning in regards to handles he goes by: Virus, Blackcloud or, just this morning; I Am Legend His email addy is: gogetta@yahoo.com His IP addy is: 69.121.191.130 You may want to scan your forums for the above info to see if he is lurking about. It looks like I will have to do the same over at the APC forums again...just in case. Beware this player and steer clear of him. He's trouble for any clan he participates in. It goes without saying that any clan found harboring this player will most likely not participate in any UF invite tourney. Thank you.

Evidently YOU do. You probably pick your nose too.

Those might prepare you for our Crucible and Black tourneys........but when/IF you get to a full-blown tacmap UF tourney, nothing really prepares you. LOL And if I didn't say this before, welcome to the UF Community.

It is a fact, I've come to find, that many clans I already know of are NOT the same clan on CoD4 as they were on Socom, and I'm not talking about familiarity with the game or skill level. The open mics seem to change a players perception on overall attitude while online. They can make a new show called "CoD4 Players Say the Darndest Things" from what you can hear on a nightly basis. And we all know what kind of overall attitude we want here in the UF community. There's been more than enough clans in this community that I heard with some interesting comments while I was playing with them on CoD4. Sad to say, but there were even some APCers that were a little off-color on the mic. Some of the more harsher ones are no longer APCers. But I've heard it across the board. And finally, since it is a new game, we're starting with a new evaluation process.....The UF Crucible. We're not allowing veteran clans of UF to "grandfather" themselves into a new tourney. We're putting ALL clans through the ringer here. No exceptions.

Im 100% serious..... In "respawn based" gameplay I absolutely want the killcam on. Its not about rewarding a guy for dying, its about not letting a guy lay in the weeds with a silent rifle for the entire map. Im all for "stealth & tactics" but the above situation (which happened all the time on Graw2) isnt talent. Just my 2 cents Rage. is it the captain in me or is this a bit Blah?    It may just be the captain though ..ill reread in the morning. LOL....I must have been tired. Other way around.

Yeah, Wiz has it right. The Kill Cam for RESPAWN is not a cool thing. Come time for the first CoD4 tacmap tourney.......you may see a little shake-up in things.
-
i second that its nice to know that when your killed people can see that it was a fair shot. EXACTLY. It's not so much that we're trying to cut down on any "rampant" cheating, because we do not believe that is the case here in UF......it's more to just cut down the "bitching" after you get shot. LOL
-
Checked it out on my PS3....looks cool. NOW all I'm wondering is if ShadowOfASolja is gonna win the grand prize and runner-up prize all on his lonesome simply for the fact that no one contested him on the challenge! LOL

"Here is the Non-Music version (I'll post the updated version later if i have time before the deadline to make it): http://rapidshare.com/files/78460932/UF.p3t.html " _____________________ That's what was written along with the PS3/UF theme that Shadow posted up.....but in going to the link, it just brings me some Rapid Share ad page or something. In order for us to see that this theme actually WORKS, we need to be able to get it on our PS3s....... Is this theme posted/submitted to places like http://www.ps3-theme.com or http://www.allps3themes.com (my personal favorite) where we can download this?
