Well that's good news.

I'm still struggling with whether or not this show is gonna keep me. I LIKE it....but at times, while watching it, I find myself questioning the characters too much. This show is most certainly FX's way of filling the void left by the Shield at the end of this season. Oh, I will miss it SO. In the Shield, we're looking at some questionable guys behind a badge. Thing is, they're COPS, and they're good at what they do...they just sometimes do questionable things to get to their means. I can admire that, I think. In Sons, the viewer is being courted to like GENERALLY unlikeable guys. A motorcycle club that isn't on the right side of the law to begin with. Toss in the killing, the scheming and the weapons trafficking, and you have the makings of some villains you're supposed to like instead of shady heroes who straddle the line of moral ambiguity (like the Shield). The characters of Sons, for me, are a little harder to appreciate and like than the characters of the Shield, and I'll need a few more episodes of Sons to see if li'l Jax's innocent desire to get the club back to the sensibilities of his father is enough of a "angle for good" to keep me watching the show. No matter what shit Vic Mackey and his boys get into, they're STILL helping the little girl who got raped or the mother who's being terrorized by gangbangers or preventing untraceable weapons from getting on the streets. In all seriousness, the Sons of Anarchy would be a group that Mackey and his boys would be taking down if the two shows were integrated, and that right there tells me that FX is essentially ASKING you to root for the villains in Sons. But like I said...I have to wait and see. There will definitely be a power struggle between Jax and Clay, and that should be interesting, only because that will definitely create rifts within the club itself. It will also prove interesting to see what Jax's mother does in that situation, given that it SEEMS that no matter what, she's siding with Clay more than her own son in hopes that her son will get molded into what she, and the club, needs. I, for one, think that Jax's mother is the BEST character of the show. The most dynamic and the most unpredictable. She is the reason I have tuned in for three episodes. The things she's got written for her in those scripts are GREAT and I'm looking forward for more, but the other characters NEED to step it up.

I just watched this this morning. 1: I HATED Lana Lang and she was the main reason I was losing interest in this show very quickly last season. In fact, I didn't watch the last few episodes, including the finale, because of her. I got brought up to speed with the "catching up" clips they showed at the beginning of this new season. 2: Losing Lex is VERY disappointing. When he killed his father, I said "FINALLY!" FINALLY we got to see him emerge as a TRUE villain and not just a villain behind the scenes and playing the good guy with all his "Smallville friends." And now he's gone. Pfft. Dropped the ball on that one. 3: I agree that Lois Lane IS hotter than Lana....20x hotter....but I must say that she has no compelling acting skills at all to back up the looks. Whenever she has a one-liner or tries to act all witty, it just sounds like cheese melting off a hot turd. And no, I don't know WHERE the hell that analogy just came from. 4: I like it when the League comes in on episodes. I like Green Arrow a lot and I like how they integrated Black Canary in there. I also like how these characters don't follow that "I don't kill bad guys" ethic that Clark carries. Aquaman and Flash I can kind of do without. 5: I was SERIOUSLY bummed with what they did with John (Manhunter). I mean.....BUMMED! 6: Taking the kid out of Smallville and bringing the backdrop over to Metropolis should prove to be a fresh change of pace. I'm looking forward to it. But they're going to need to grab me in the first 2-3 episodes, otherwise I'm writing it off and concentrating on some better shows that are on now. I like to limit the number of shows I watch to maybe 4-6 at a time. The Shield, Sons/Anarchy, Fringe and others are topping that list right now. So Superboy better become pretty super soon.

Yeah, I do. GET BACK TO WORK. It says under construction still. Seriously, good luck you guys, and I hope it all works out well. - TOW

WOW.....I hadn't had any of those problems yet. I think one or two people did online tonight, but I didn't hear that it was a widespread problem. Hmmm......

Been playing guitar for the past 18 years. When I started, my mother was paying for lessons. That was before the internet sprang about. There are PLENTY of YouTube videos I'm sure you could hunt down with instructionals on there. I would suggest picking one person that might offer some type of succession-type tutorials...someone that follows a progressive pattern from basics to fundamentals. Hell, if you want to spend the money, Best Buy sells a computer program that's pretty comprehensive. In the way of a guitar, I would suggest buying an old used one, to make SURE that after a month or so of playing, you STILL want to play. And stick with it. When you get better, when you spend a lot of time on it, then invest in a better guitar. One that suits your taste AND needs. That would be my advice. And hope you have fun!

It's just kind of an IDIOT thing to say. And he has no appreciation of history, I guess. Just how fat his paychecks are. It's a shame.

You're about as much an ass as your avatar.

Love him or hate him, he hits the nail on the head with this. Bill Gates gave a speech at a high school about 11 things they did not and will not learn in school. He talked about how feel-good, politically correct teachings created a generation of kids with no concept of reality and how this concept set them up for failure in the real world. Rule 1: Life is not fair - get used to it. Rule 2: The world won't care about your self-esteem. The world will expect you to accomplish something BEFORE you feel good about yourself. Rule 3: You will NOT make $60,000 a year right out of high school. You won't be a vice president with a car phone until you EARN both. Rule 4: If you think your teacher is tough, wait until you get a boss. Rule 5: Flipping burgers is not beneath your dignity. Your grandparents had a different word for flipping burgers. They called it "opportunity." Rule 6: If you mess up, it's not your parents' fault, so don't whine about your mistakes, learn from them. Rule 7: Before you were born, your parents weren't as boring as they are now. They got that way from paying your bills, cleaning your clothes and listening to you talk about how cool you thought you were. So before you save the rain forest from the parasites of your "parent's generation," try delousing the closet in your own room. Rule 8: Your school may have done away with "winners and losers," but life HAS NOT. In some schools, they have abolished failing grades and they'll give you as many times as you want to get the right answer. This doesn't bear the slightest resemblance to ANYTHING in real life. Rule 9: Life is not divided into semesters. You don't get summers off and very few employers are interested in helping you FIND YOURSELF. Do that on your own time. Rule 10: Television is NOT real life. In real life people actually have to leave the coffee shop and to to work. Rule 11: Be nice to nerds. Chances are you'll end up working for one.

Black tourneys will ALWAYS remain "no boom." Hope that will clear up any predictions.

This is JUST a reminder that the sign-ups for the first SOCOM: Confrontation BLACK TOURNEY is only about 13 days away.

That is just going to cause someone to commit suicide or something. That was DEPRESSING!

I am pleased to announce that Urgent Fury will be expanding its core of UF Staff members by another six individuals whom we feel will help this community and tourney continue to grow and flourish with the upcoming release of SOCOM: Confrontation and the, count 'em, SIX total tourneys we'll have in constant rotation here in Urgent Fury to support this game. The new members were chosen from a pool of 14 potential candidates which were whittled down to the following six individuals: inadub from 503 Johnson30 from odc Puddytat from SxB SgtJoeFriday (formerly Andawg) from WDA Chilipalmer from CDS Bandit99 from 101 We're pleased that these individuals have accepted our invitation to help us behind-the-scenes of our ever-growing tournament arena and we're sure that they will have a very positive impact for our Community. I'll give them a small congrats now, because in about a week the REAL work starts and they won't be all smiles anymore. ;D Thank you for reading, everyone, and thank you for continuing to play here at Urgent Fury. It's YOUR participation here that necessitated UF to acquire more Staff. We'll keep working to make UF better and better than the month before, and you keep enjoying it! - TOW

Been listening to it for a week now, so I feel comfortable giving an assessment. I think, Seq, that you should be GLAD it's not "old school." Because then you would get a ton of internet-philes that would say "well, they said they'd get back to their roots, but hell, they sound EXACTLY like they did 20 years ago." And really, who WANTS that? Reinventing one's self is not easy. Reinventing one's self AND showing homage to your roots is almost an impossible animal. These guys are the brave ones. They could keep putting out the same damn album year after year like AC/DC or Nickelback, but Metallica have been doing pretty good for themselves AND their fans. God....how boring AND possibly unpopular would these guys be if they NEVER changed their sound after, say, the "Justice" album? These last 15-20 years.....Justice, Justice, Justice. I was happy to hear their change on the Black album. Wasn't CRAZY about the Anger album, but there were some gems there, and you had to admire their ability TO reach out for something new, instead of being so afraid of trying something new that they put out something that sounded like their last 3 or 4 albums like so many other bands of today. This one.....I do believe they HAVE gone back to their roots. No, it's not thrash by any means, but some of their original ferociousness is there with enough of a "today's sound" to still remain current and RELEVANT. Time's are a-changin'. These boys SHOULDN'T be stuck in some time warp that they can't get out of or, worse, are too AFRAID to get out of. I think this new album has JUST the right amount of "then" with a good amount of "now," giving it a great feel altogether. I think putting out another Justice or Lightning album today would be costly. Plainly put, no one would give a shit. But being able to push the envelope in yet ANOTHER direction shows why they have resilience in this music market place. They'll retain their old fans....they'll make some new ones. It's how they'll survive, and I think they're doing a good job of it. I like the new album.

Boy, you sure done gots to this party LATE! LOL

F'ing poll, Jinxed us! Tow, you A hole! LOL I LIKE putting the polls up before a champ match ONLY because it affects both teams psychologically....and I like to see how that plays out. Teams take a high or low vote differently. It's all part of the gauntlet of a TACMAP tourney.

All participants who rolled ahead in their Ronin tourney should check out the updated bracket and arrange their meeting with their next opponent. Good luck to all players this round.
