  1. WRONG.
  2. If you do, I'll be punching you square in the mouth. THEN maybe we can sit down and have a beer. The wine wore off.
  3. That was AWESOME! LOL I heard Vincent Price recite that whole thing in my head!
  4. WINNER!
  5. The invitation for the UF: Ronin 1v1 tourney for the prize of pre-ordered copies of SOCOM: Confrontation delivered to your door will be passed out tonight. Tonight's invitations WILL be different than your typical invite night. The invitations will not be posted up in public view but rather sent to each individual player via PM. You will get a special link to the Paypal page that will give you the button needed to make your entry fee donation. When your entry fee donation is submitted and confirmed, you will be notified on your application thread that all is ready to go and your name will be thrown into the mix. The brackets for each Ronin tourney, both the SOCOM and CoD4 ones, will be made this week by Wednesday night. ALL PLAYERS WILL ONLY HAVE UNTIL WEDNESDAY 07-16 NIGHT TO MAKE THEIR ENTRY FEE DONATION! So please make this a priority. The tourney will start this coming Sunday, July 20th. A special section will be put up so that each combatant has ample time to coordinate a good night for their war with their opponent as well as choose which of the two available maps they will be battling on. Please note that there will be byes offered in the bracket in order to accommodate everyone. The byes are built into the brackets and those placed in the path of potentially receiving a bracket will be placed there randomly as they are chosen. Luck of the draw for the byes. I would like to thank everyone for signing up for the tourney. We look forward to seeing how the first installment of RONIN goes in hopes that it can be a precursor for many more to come. We'll always make the prize worthwhile for the participants. Looking forward to seeing who weaves their way through the competition and finding the prize at the end of the tunnel. Whoever it may be, it won't be easy! GOOD LUCK TONIGHT AND FOR THE REST OF THE TOURNEY! - TOW
  6. Oh, make no mistake. I get off on midget porn. Messing with your heads does nothing for me.
  7. Yeah, this is going to be one of those posts where you're thinking "wtf was this for?" LOL But I'm sitting here at my desk pumping the new Disturbed album through my speakers from iTunes. Tonight is one of the RARE moments where I get to read EVERY thread that's being posted on instead of tuning into the ones that need or warrant my attention, leaving most of the others alone and unmarked. Went to a street fest today, had some good pizza, tea, free ground coffee from Starbucks and watched a good movie I never knew existed called "State of Grace" starring Sean Penn, Ed Harris, Gary Oldman, Robin Wright and that doofy guy who plays Dewey Cox. So here I sit and I FINALLY get some quiet time before tomorrow, when a new UF TACMAP war meeting takes place and invites get sent out for RONIN. Before I get back to work on a secret project that is driving my clan absolutely bonkers for not telling them......I really afford them no perk to wearing the tag. LOL So I get some quiet time and I get to read through everything. Something I know that I never really take note of, probably because I have to read SO many.....but taking the time now, you can really learn a bit about a person's personality from the posts they throw here on the UF forum. The amount of time people have spent here through the weeks, months and years...no wonder we feel comfortable calling this a "community," because it really is. After I sifted through the literal crap that I had to deal with here on the forum for the past two days with a clan bouncing out of the TACMAP tourney, and bouncing another for the double-dipping on player names, and dealing with some crap in Clan Rep sections, I got to read all the GOOD stuff that's getting posted here. Seeing everyone interact with one another. Seeing how happily some are to give out their opinions and info to help others or to communicate or to simply just pass the time with people across the country. I look down the main page of the forum and see all the bright oranges signifying that new comments are being left all over the place and I get to thinking about how much I love how Urgent Fury's forum has become a hotbed hub of activity. The website is taking more shape now with the inclusion of UF player Dossiers, we've resurrected the UF Blog twice a month now, and we still have two new sections hitting it pretty soon (this month, most likely). I see that after so many years that UF has existed and operated.....non-stop, I might add...we're finally having a designated day where players in the community are going to meet. I mean.....seriously, we're going to MEET. I know this isn't going to be any kind of convention or anything. 15-20 people simply don't make a convention. BUT, it's a start....and who would have thought a year ago that ANYONE in the UF community would come together to meet on the same ground without wearing the same clan tag all across the board? We've got some good people coming in....players that we've known here for months and years....and we'll be shaking hands. We'll be having some laughs that aren't piped through a headset. I'm sorry, but that is just too friggin' cool. I think it's such a cool concept that I would wish that EVERY single person in UF would come. It would be cool to put a face to names such as Havoc, KingJunk, Apoc, Ghostdawg, Col. Kurtz, ChiliPalmer, Bandit and all the other great names that we've come to know here at Urgent Fury. It would be great to kick back a few shots with the UF Staff who go above and beyond in service to Urgent Fury......translate that as service to YOU all. Who knows......maybe some day. Anyway..........hell, I REALLY like this "Criminal" song that's playing off this album. I've restarted the track 7 times now.......sheesh. Anyway.....I like what Urgent Fury has become. There are hiccups here and there. There are bad seeds that pass in every once in a while. There are disputes here that escalate further than they really should sometimes. BUT....the negatives here are always outweighed and outclassed by the positives. All the positives that I have seen grow and emerge here in the Urgent Fury community. I think that's what really drove Sniper and I to make our website more player-involved (like with the Dossiers and other upcoming things), along with some player-specific tourneys like RONIN......and guys, I really can't WAIT to tell you all about UF: TRIBE. I think THAT will be one of the more FAVORITE tourney types found here at Urgent Fury......and the best part? If you love the TACMAP tourneys here at UF, then UF: Tribe is only going to ENHANCE that love and experience for you. Anyway....sorry, guys. Believe it or not....the "unfair," "king-tyrant," "childish" Undertow here was just feeling a lot of love for the community tonight. Don't know why. I highly doubt listening to a Disturbed album would get me all sentimental and amorous, and I'm not a sad drunk, so I doubt it's this bottle of wine. BUT, something washed over me this evening as I looked at response after response after response in all the threads here on the UF forum. You guys are really great. The ones I absolutely adore. The ones that give me way too much trouble. The ones that post here 50 times a day. The ones that made their first post recently after creating their account months ago. The ones that don't deserve to be here (don't worry, we're still working on ya. We'll pull ya through) The ones that we wish we could do even MORE for simply to satisfy your entertainment bug. All of you are really great. And I'm glad you're here. I'm glad you all are posting....playing....commiserating. And I'm glad when we see comments from you that you're happy you found your way here, either recently or long ago. We've put out UF Blacks, Crucibles, Crucible-Xs, TACMAP tourneys....and now we're putting out Ronins and SOON we'll be putting out UF: Tribes. We don't do this because we're bored. We do this because we really get supercharged by all of the enthusiasm you guys bring here. DAMN this song is really good. Guys...."Criminal" from the new Disturbed album. Get it. I think this is play #10 now. And if you've read all this.....thank you. You just read the streaming thought of a tired, buzzed, happy guy here on the forum tonight. You may move on now. And enjoy the tourneys......it doesn't matter WHICH one you're involved in right now. Just enjoy the fuck out of it. Wow.....it felt really good to type that last sentence. And I think I really like this wine. Criminal.....spin it for the eleventh time, Mr. DJ. Have a good night, everyone. And have some good wars tomorrow...and next week, and the week after that. (Let me just say this one more time....because again, it's making me smile thinking about it) And just enjoy the fuck out of it! Guys, this is a REALLY good song. - TOW
  8. But that part is correct. ;D
  9. It's official. The podcast will be finished and delivered for Monday. The big, bad Cmdr. has RETURNED! I'm sure it will be a good one, as I know the Cmdr. has been DYING to get back into your ear holes. Monday evening at the latest.
  10. Owning a gun is something I have thought about for two years now. I'm giving it serious but thorough thought before I make a decision to do it. I think about it for home protection only. I'm not a huge man but in no right am I small. However, I sleep. And I don't like waking up to sounds in my house with only a lamp at my bedside. But this is a decision I'm taking very seriously. I haven't gotten any closer to a verdict, though.
  11. You're wrong. we'll see, ill bet im pretty close You're wrong again.
  12. You're wrong.
  13. The repair bill on my bike. The addition of my new flat panel TV on my credit card bill. My 5K Bastille Day night time run getting monsooned on at the tail end, leaving for a cold walk back to the car. My pork chops burning two nights ago on the pan while I was dealing with forum squabbles. LOL But yes....it IS July. And things are looking good.
  14. LOL...yeah, considering Sniper and I haven't even told the Staff about it yet. LOL Cmdr. Fury SHOULD have some more info on this on Monday, people. But it's going to be COOL. Do you like the idea of RONIN? Do you like the TACMAP tourneys? Because if you like both of those, then you are just going to LOVE UF: Tribe.
  15. Well, someone who KNOWS let me know.
  16. I can't take credit. I took most of that info from an article I read yesterday in the paper. But they laid it out pretty well for me.
  17. I have a question. You say that multiple people can play this online. I ASSUME you have your own profile and progress on your own country, and you bring that to the table when you battle others online? Or is it like a SOCOM or CoD4 game where both sides start with some stock type of profile and battle each other from there? Thanks.
  18. WHat I DON'T like is that Apple was billing the 3G as a faster phone (which is probably is) but is slightly being misleading in its price-point marketing. By selling the new phone cheaper, it's making you think you're getting a better deal on a phone, at least to those who don't do the math or are new to iPhone. I was thinking of picking one up myself, but not after the math. Sure, the 3G is faster, and the phone itself is cheaper than the original iPhone. But will it save you money in the long run? Check out this cost comparison of the 3G versus the original over the life of a two-year contract. Original iPhone Phone cost: (8GB) $399; (16GB) $499 Plan cost: (900 minutes per month): $79.99 per month Unlimited data fee: Included Text messages (200 messages per month): Free Total over two-year contract: $2,318.76 ($2,418.76 for the 16GB phone) 3G Phone cost: (8GB) $199; (16GB) $299 Plan cost: (900 minutes per month): $89.99 per month Unlimited data fee: Included Text messages (200 messages per month): $5 per month Total over two-year contract: $2,478.76 ($2,578.76 for the 16GB phone) * Totals do not include activation fee, cost of accessories or taxes and charges included on monthly bill. So is it worth it? The short answer to that question is "maybe." Even though the new iPhone's up-front cost is cheaper, at $199 or $299, depending on the model, the monthly fees are higher by at least $10. And because buying iPhone 3G at that price locks you into a two-year contract, you'll pay a monthly fee of at least $69.99 (and that's without text messaging) every month for 24 months. So what's so good about iPhone 3G? Internet browsing is several times faster than the pokey EDGE network on the first-gen iPhone. And, with 3G, you can talk and surf simultaneously, something you can't do with EDGE. Oh, and GPS. While Apple says iPhone 3G isn't suitable for turn-by-turn directions, the GPS will help you find your way home. Beyond that, truthfully, there's not much else. It's still 8 gigabytes or 16 gigabytes of storage space. The audio is supposedly much improved and the 16-GB model comes in black or white, but that's really the end of the innovation. You'll find the rest of the cool-factor on all iPhones, new and old, in the form of Mobile Me and the iTunes App Store. With Mobile Me, which costs $99 a year, you can access and manage e-mail, contact lists, your calendar, photos and files on your computer or iPhone. And when you make a change in either place, the change is instantaneous on the other device, no syncing required. The App Store is just like the iTunes music and movie store, but for applications like games, Facebook and Instant Messenger. Some will be free and some will cost you, but thousands of programs that do everything from controlling the lights in your living room to balancing your checkbook will be up for grabs starting sometime Friday. You can even store all of your credit card information down to the number (because slipping out that credit card from the wallet is just oh-so-hard) as well as all your passwords to everything on your computer under a protection program they're billing as "unbreakable." You remember the LAST guy to boldly say his life's information couldn't be hacked at LIFELOCK? All in all, I think the release of this new device shouldn't be as heralded as some are making it out to be.

    In 3 days...

Good luck to you, Apoc! Stay safe.
  20. Sigh.........yup. That'll be my job. :'( LOL
  21. Quit fabricating stories as you seem to like to do when backed into a corner, girl. What Rooster posted above and what Hellraiser posted above in the quotes are two different players who got the same SENTENCE sent to them. LOL. There is no Private Message here that "was never written." You're writing PMs and then now denying it. You're just getting weirder and weirder. We were HAPPY to work with you, Apple, until you made it harder to work with you. It's really just THAT simple. We WORKED with you until it got to be a hassle. I'm talking about your show. You weren't very "investigative" for a News group, because we had to feed you everything. You got upset when I announced all the new things here coming to UF in July instead of giving it to you for "an exclusive." Girl, I HAVE a media outlet and it's called the U-Freq podcast. THAT'S what I feed. If you WANT info for your show, then be the news crew you claim to be and GO GET THAT SCOOP, girl! Giving you info was yet ANOTHER thing I had to line up on my plate when I honestly thought you would take care of yourself. I write almost an entire podcast every week....and now I had to write the material or the questions for my interviews or UF info because you just didn't know how to approach it anyway. I got tired. SUE ME. I'm long winded at times, Apple, because sometimes you just come across individuals that just seem to need info POUNDED into their head, because a simple few sentences go in one ear and out the other. It's frustrating for me. I don't like sitting through my dinner here to write long posts like that.....and as I always say, someone's usually MAKING me. People here are asking for their accounts to be deleted. Why don't you just do the right thing and oblige their request? It's a no-brainer. Otherwise, there's some crazy people here that will start taking their polite request in your PM box to your forums or something, and that's really why you want to oblige people's requests over the internet....so you can rid yourself of the discomfort and move on with what you do....before it gets public.

    ATTN: All

Not that it matters, but I did apologize in the contest thread, but now it seems to have been deleted along with my apology. Nope, I saw your apology and recognized it. I even replied to it, but then was busy taking down the Dv8 advertisements on the forum. Your apology was on there. And the apology came after I wrote what I did here on this forum. Thank you and take care. Hope the forum works out for you.
  23. And now my APCers cannot get their accounts deleted. Quit looking desperate, girl. Please honor these requests. I have not said anything to the UF Community. This is solely the UF Staff and my own clan. Anyone else can do what they like or visit who they like. But you're acting a bit like "Misery" on this one. "If you love somebody, let them go, for if they return, they were always yours. And if they don't, they never were." -- Kahlil Gibran
  24. My Staff were informed to ask for the removal of their accounts on your forum. It's simply a conflict of interest as, basically, we're not interested in Dv8 anymore. For some reason, you don't give people the right to delete their own account from your forum, so they have to request it. My Staff are with courteous PMs and you have to act, again, the way that you do. What Urgent Fury is interested at this point is having the cleanest a furthest break from Dv8 as possible. That includes all facets of UF, from our logos to our Staff, being removed from your Dv8 environment. Just please comply and honor any request for a deleted account. It's just senseless to "refuse." Let's get this over with and head our separate ways. And if you think I'm "sad" for separating facets of Urgent Fury from Dv8 News, please. This is me being VERY courteous and formal. You REALLY don't want to get into any kind of smear campaign with Urgent Fury. We have a pretty quick wit. Dv8 insulted Urgent Fury. Urgent Fury would like our break from Dv8. Let it happen.
