Hey everyone.... A fresh reminder to all that those who intend to submit sigs to the STAFF SIG CONTEST need to do so by Monday night! If you have sigs brewin', don't wait too long until the thread is locked and Staffers check out what was available. There's some good offerings thus far, but don't make it easy on 'em! Remember, YOUR submission could be worn by that Staffer for the duration of the Black/Crucible tours! And the very BEST one gets to do a vocal shout out on U-Freq!

Please note the following rule change that has been added to the UF Crucible Rules. Changes are highlighted in TEAL: Rule Set 8: UF War Match Parameters 8: The system for wars in UF Crucible-X is outlined below. All are to be remembered and followed for each and every war. A: All rooms MUST be made no later than 9:00pm CST Central Standard Time. The room is to be made by the HOME team at the time of that particular war. NOTE: if the room is up late, then the HOME team forfeits the match. In your best interests, please have the room up at least 5 minutes before the actual start time. A 3rd party UF clan member can be called upon to verify that a room is not up on time and invites TO that room are not sent out. The room must be set up with the following parameters: > All wars in UF Crucible-X will contain maps of VARYING GAME PARAMETERS. Please see the STICKY POST at the top of this section for the EXACT parameters for all UF Crucible-X wars and the modes chosen for those wars. > Each and every war will be played with an 8v8 limit on each team. No team may play with more than 8 for any match, though a team may play with less than 8 if they have to. > The use of grenade launcher attachments in this game is NOT permitted in UF Crucible-X. Any kill obtained by this weapon will result in a map loss by the offending player and his clan and a full map win for the victimized clan. > All matches in The UF Crucible-X will be played with PERKS TURNED ON. All claymores, C4 and grenades are ALLOWED in this tourney. All grenade launchers and rocket launchers are NOT ALLOWED in this tourney. B: In the lobby before the war, if a team refuses to start at 10 minutes after the official start time of the war for whatever reason, including waiting for a late arrival, then that team forfeits and there will be no war. A 3rd-party UF clan member can be called upon to verify that a room has not launched. C: It will be known that ALL maps for the entirety of UF Crucible-X will be comprised of all mode types EXCEPT Free-For-All. D: If a clan uses any banned weapon in UF Crucible-X AND obtains a kill by that banned weapon's use, they automatically forfeit the ENTIRE war in which the use of the banned weapon occurred. Repeated abuse of this rule will result in that clan’s removal from UF Crucible-X. E: All air support is DISABLED for the UF Crucible, and all friendly fire is ENABLED. Any other questions regarding specific map rules should be directed to the SCREEN SHOTS we will provide for you by the tourney's start.

UPDATE: Chicago's Dumbest Thief Bernie Tafoya, Associated Press Reporting CHICAGO (WBBM) -- CHICAGO -- Chicago Police say no one could make this story up... 18-year-old Ruben Zarate, entered a muffler shop in the 2600 block of North Laramie Avenue yesterday and declared a robbery. He allegedly waved a gun around and demanded money, according to police. When he was told the money was in a safe and that the manager who knew how to open it was not there, the suspect had a brilliant idea; at least he thought it was brilliant. He gave the shop employees his cell phone number and asked them to call him when the manager arrived so he could open the safe for him. He left and the employees opted to call 911. Authorities stationed plain clothes officers in the shop and called the would-be robber back. Zarate, showed up again, and waved his gun around again, but this time was shot in the leg by an officer. He had surgery at Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center and is said to have suffered non-life-threatening injuries. Zarate, of the 5100 block of West Schubert Avenue, was charged with three counts of attempted armed robbery and one count of aggravated assault to a police officer, the latter for allegedly pointing a gun at the officer, said the Cook County state’s attorney’s office. One officer with 20 years on the force, said this is one of the more “unusual†cases he’s seen.

That's because I'm consistent with my truthful answer. Dracula's bitches.....vampire chicks in white.....scare the FUCK outta me. In real life, won't go near a girl dressed up as one at a party. My luck, she would turn out real.

This coming Monday night, invites will be sent out for both evaluation tourneys, UF Black V for SOCOM and UF Crucible-2 for CoD4 on the PS3 (don't worry your Xboxer shorts off! Crucible-X is coming soon enough....in fact, we'll be releasing BUMPED UP dates in the coming days). Make sure to keep tabs on your application here in the next day or so as we'll ask everyone to reaffirm their original application so we know those who signed up are still around. Funny.....invite night is roughly around the same day as the U-Freq podcast night.......hmmmmm.

It's a control thing. Plain and simple. We always evaluated clans in the Black and Crucible tourneys. There are those who use grenades well, placing them on targets....and then there are those who know where to throw them at the beginning of a round on a small map. One, what fun is that for people with crap spawns, and two, what kind of skill does THAT show? It's almost like counting cards in Vegas. No skill, just technical know-how. We liked running just guns because it intensified the game play and the tactical play all at once. Grenades are a good leveler. They're quiet, they can come from anywhere and they can end a game pretty quickly. We want, in an eval tourney, to be able to inject as MUCH fun into a 4 week tourney as possible, not invite people into matches they die 4 seconds into. The other factor to this is, again, we're evaluating the level of team work you have in your clan. A clan or, rather, clan leaders and officers who cannot get it into the thick skulls of their troops that they should NOT throw a grenade in this match might not lead the most organized clan. Unorganized clans in a tourney atmosphere like UF don't do well and, in some cases, do their best to RUIN fun for those who came to UF with a solid purpose. Hope that answers some of your questions. - TOW

Yeah, sometimes it seems like forever ago, and other times it seems like just yesterday. Crazy. Fury doesn't fail to impress me EACH and every time we get a new episode.

***IF YOU'RE IN COLLEGE, UF WANTS TO KNOW ABOUT IT***
TOW-19 replied to TOW-19's topic in Playstation
We're asking for students CURRENTLY attending. This makes it sound like you already graduated. If so, let us know so your post can be removed. Thank you. -
With the advent of the inability or uncertainty of EXCLUDING perks in (some) private matches for PS3's CoD4, the upcoming UF: Crucible-2 will, instead, allow all perks and all grenades. We simply wish that all participants of UF ENJOY their game, and not have to squabble over who threw a grenade or didn't. The game and its snafu aren't allowing us to go no-perk as planned, so the current Crucible-2 rules will be amended to show that grenades and perks WILL be allowed. * Grenade LAUNCHERS are still forbidden in the Crucible evaluation tourneys. We apologize for the nearly last minute change up here, but UF is just flexing with the unexpected twist of losing "no perks" in private matches. If this gets fixed in the future, then UF Crucibles will most likely go back to the original plan of no-perks and only the default grenade allowed. Note, though, that if there is to be a change like this in the near or far future, the current running eval tourney will NOT change mid-season. However it starts is how it will finish. The official Crucible rules will be amended this week.

This is a reminder that all entries for the UF Staff Sig Contest MUST be in by March 31st by midnight. No entries will be accepted after that time. At that point, the entire UF Staff will look at what has been submitted for each of their names and each individual will pick their favorite out of the bunch. They will wear your sig for the entire duration of both UF Black V and The UF Crucible-2. Winners will also be announced over the Urgent Frequency Podcast by Commander Fury GRAND PRIZE: The UF Staff will also convene to pick the NUMBER ONE TOP sig design that we feel blew all the others away. The winner of this decision will get a phone call from Commander Fury himself so he/she can have a one-liner taped by Fury to be played randomly over several future podcasts......Think "Hey, this is so-and-so from the so-and-so clan, and you're listening to Urgent Frequency!" Don't miss the deadline, people! Good luck to you and your submissions!
