I Tivo'd this when it first aired....and I haven't deleted it yet. It will stay on my Tivo for a VERY long time. I love my Tivo.

THIS was funny.

It certainly reads good. I have learned to reserve my personal hype until I actually play a game. Best way to do it. I won't go crazy over it yet, but I'll look towards its release with some anticipation.

Hey everyone.... We go through this every tour, especially with the newer clans that find their way here to UF, so I wanted to put out a gentle reminder to everyone as this first week's wars are going on. PLEASE....read the RULES OF YOUR TOURNAMENT, guys. By reading the rules of the tournament, THIS is what you accomplish: > Ensuring a better overall game for you. > Ensuring a better overall game for your opponent. > Ensuring a better overall tournament experience for all involved. See that? There are absolutely NO downsides to following the rules set forth to the tourney you signed up for. Seriously. No joke. We had it lab tested. So please, when you get a spare moment, sit for 10 minutes and read the rules. It will reduce the complaints and it will improve your experience and stay here in Urgent Fury. We're glad you came. We'd like you to stay. Following all rules and regulations of this tourney ensure that you have a great, competitive and honest game. That is all. - TOW

APC has a story that MIGHT be it, though this one is not so dangerous. [APC] Automatic at the time was a die-hard war-monger. He LOVED it. Never left his controller. We were in the midst of a heated UF war (forget which) when Auto had to REALLY pee. REALLY pee. He didn't want to leave, so he pissed in his empty beer bottle. Right there in the living room, right there in front of the tv. All I can say now is THANK YOU for Socom not having open mics. Couple minutes pass by. All of the sudden, Auto mics in screaming in laughing horror telling us he just accidentally drank his own piss thinking it was a beer. That's all. A snake died. A guy drank his own piss. You judge it how you like it.

I have to stop swearing so much on those podcasts......

No, I am just a writer. I think I became a writer because I couldn't hack it as an artist! LOL I wrote two mini-series of Dungeons & Dragons a while back that did well. Since then, I have been putting all available focus on writing a series of short stories, much in the same vein as "A Series of Unfortunate Events" and "Goosebumps" which will be aimed at younger children at the reading age, set in the horror genre with a Chicago background. UF usually finds its way to eating into that time pretty well. Doing a Google search on Jay Donovan and Dungeons & Dragons comics will usually produce my series written.

Well, everyone, the UF Staff got together and chose what they thought was the best sig made for them by a UF Community member. We are currently wearing our personal choice for best-made sig for us individually. We would like to thank everyone that took the time to make them up. The Staff and creators of UF will be sporting your sigs throughout the next 5 weeks of the Black V and Crucible-2 tourneys. And after a very narrow victory through UF Staff votes on which design was the overall best in production, design and presentation, we give the award to: [AoA] Affliction and his rendition of Staff member Viper's sig: Affliction will receive the prize posted up for the contest, it being - GRAND PRIZE: The UF Staff will also convene to pick the NUMBER ONE TOP sig design that we feel blew all the others away. The winner of this decision will get a phone call from Commander Fury himself so he/she can have a one-liner taped by Fury to be played randomly over several future podcasts......Think "Hey, this is so-and-so from the so-and-so clan, and you're listening to Urgent Frequency!" So Affliction, when you feel up to getting this done and have a few ideas for a one liner, throw them to me through a PM along with your phone number so that I, and eventually Cmdr. Fury, can contact you for your voice spot on the U-Freq podcast. Congrats. And again, thank you all for participating. - TOW

LOL....the podcast is ON its way. (I'm listening to the file now, actually....teehee) Sniper had some internet issues this entire weekend and am glad to say he got it back up TONIGHT. He's trying to sift through all the spam and pertinent emails right now and we're getting him back up to speed. Expect the podcast up NO LATER than Tues morning, if not up tonight. All I WILL say right now is.....POT PIE gets a shout out! LOL

Well, it is because you are not your clan's Clan Rep.

This is comic book related. As some of you know, I write comic books. One of my editors, Kristen Simon, is the editor-in-chief over at Shadowline for Image Comics. She has actually made it to the top-5 nomination ballot for best editor. She is asking anyone who is anyone to try and help her make it to the top. LOL Think Diezel's magic comedy contest for this one. Her email sent out to everyone in the industry pretty much says it all, and I can tell you, through my experience working with her for many years, she IS a great editor and has worked hard to get where she needed to be for this. If you would, take a moment to read her email and, if you can spare the time, drop a vote in her favor. Every little bit helps, and I know it would be something that would make her YEAR. __________________________________________________________________________________ Kristen Simon wrote: Hi everyone! This is it! Thanks to your nomination votes, I actually made it into the top 5 for the Eagle Awards (The UK version of the Oscars for comic books)! I’m up for “Favorite Editorâ€, and I am up against 2 Marvel editors, so I’m really going to need your help this one last time! Please spread the word around! It’s really awesome that I made it this far, and I’ll be REALLY surprised if I actually win, but no harm in giving it a shot! If I win, I get to go the Bristol Comic Con next year where the ceremony is held! Please go here to vote: http://www.eagleawards.co.uk/vote.asp (I am category 10) And if you have more than one e-mail address, feel free to vote under them as well! I have no shame. They don’t put you on any mailing lists, or spam you. There are also books I have edited that were nominated, and artists/writers that I have edited who were also nominated. Someone suggested last time that I should send a list of who else to vote for in the 30 categories. So if any of you find it helpful, here it is: 1. Favorite Newcomer Writer: SIMON SPURRIER 2. Favorite Newcomer Artist: MAHMUD A. ASRAR (I gave this guy his first break 3 years ago!) 3. Favorite Comics Writer: BRIAN K. VAUGHAN 4. Favorite Comics Writer/Artist: BRYAN TALBOT 5. *S* bowed out of the Crucible tourney due to low roster problems on CoD4. For this, you will most likely get a win by forfeit, but please, in the future, put these matters in the Clan Rep section. Thank you.

We're awaiting to see how well this game MAY fit into the general scheme of a UF tourney, as well as the potential long-lasting activity of this game. We don't usually jump on game releases RIGHT away because it takes a lot of time and hard work to set up even a small evaluation tourney, not to mention the TACMAP tourneys. We don't want to put forth that great effort if the game, no matter how anticipated by gamers, may be a potential disappointment.
-
No, there are no plans for that at this time. Lori's Watch had a very specific intent, and that intent was accomplished.

Dear UF Community.... It's come to our attention that we have a long-overdue message to send out to the UF Community here regarding the Lori's Watch charity tourney that we had last year in 2007. For those who do not recall, Urgent Fury held a one-night single elimination tourney with an entry fee, of which that entry fee would be a donation to St. Jude's medical research all in the honor of a UF player's wife who had died in an auto accident on their move down to Miami. The community members here showed up and did a good thing that day. The UF Community was able to generate a donation just short of $2,000 which, in the grand scheme of things, most likely will not solve some great disease out there, but we took a bunch of gamers, gave them a purpose, and in the end, we helped some children in need over at St. Jude's. Now, this donation was not made as soon as the tourney ended. We kept it open for the possibility of any donations that might arrive after the tourney was done. Those who did show and donate helped raise a considerable-sized amount for the cause. Considering we had 8 teams of 8 players each, the projected amount totaled would have been $960.00, but we had people who donated even though they could not play, as well as some putting in more than the minimum amount required, which brought us up to a total of $1,856.69 (excluding all PayPal fees after money transfer). The Lori's Watch Tourney launched in March of '07 and, through general hectic business here for UF activities, as well as daily lives, the donation was finally made in November. We knew that this notice was long overdue and we apologize for its delay. This was our first charity event (hopefully the last) and the thought of displaying its confirmation hadn't really been a concern or thought of ours due to our inexperience. Again, we wish to thank all of those who participated. Hopefully we helped some small lives out there. http://www.urgentfury.com/loriswatch/ - TOW ___________________________________________________________________________________________ --- hopecatalog@stjude.org wrote: Date: Thu, 29 Nov 2007 18:59:32 -0600 From: hopecatalog@stjude.org To: ************@yahoo.com Subject: Order Confirmation Dear Jay Donovan, We gratefully acknowledge your support of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital through our website. It was a crappy hispanic boy band from the 80's that had some kind of weird craze over nearly everyone, even those who didn't know what they were saying. Havoc.....stop eating boy bands. Especially foreign ones.
-
I like hearing this for ANY PS3 game. Hopefully this means that the boys over at SOCOM will be able to mirror that sentiment.

NOTHING for Rooster? LOL You've just given this guy a complex.

LOL....he IS the Clan Rep. Tourney starts THIS week.
-
Clans are able to put posts up. We only ask that solitary players do not put out open calls for clans.
-
Jay? Oh....well that would be me. ;D And to our records, Guns-n-Violence had completed UF tourneys before, but I do not recall a clan called Apocalypse finishing one. New name, new members, new clan, NEW entry. When you finish your first tour in UF as Apocalypse, then we'll be more than happy to take your submittal. Good luck.

Staff Tourney isn't at the FOREFRONT of our collective minds right now as Black and Crucible are about to launch. We're scrambling with Clan Reps to try and get everything smooth. As for the UF Sig Contest, we will be wearing the winning sigs the first week of the tourneys.
